Re: HTMLCOIN & HTML BLOCKCHAIN 2017
by

On the 20th November the HTML5 coin will be swapping to HTML on the new HTMLCOIN blockchain platform. The new platform brings the project up to date with a full feature modern blockchain:

Details on the new platform and project are included in our whitepaper at www.htmlcoin.com/whitepaper

New and Roadmap Features of the Platform include:
1. Uses both the Bitcoincore (0.14) and Ether Client (CPP) codebase allowing Ether Virtual Machines to run on the more secure/stable Bitcoin UTXO model
2. QTUM compatibility layer which allows smart contracts, multiple tokens and EVM to run on UTXO, as well as easy porting of existing Ethereum and Solidity Smart Contracts
3. Proof Of Work (POW 1%) and Blackcoin's Proof Of Stake 3.0 (POS 1%) to ensure efficiency and security
4. Enhanced Hash Rate Compensation adjusts every 120 blocks with short, medium, and long block time samples make fairer and faster 60s blocktimes.
5. Oracles built on top of the Ethereum Virtual Machine allow offchain settlement of Smart Contracts with authorised data feeds like weather or stock prices
6. Real Time Checkpointing protects the history of the chain from being changed by 51% attacks by broadcasting block height and hash of the main chain.
7. Simple Payment Verification SPV allows Android or iOS mobile wallet to authenticate a transaction or Smart Contract without downloading the entire blockchain (planned q1 2018)

HTMLCOIN is a community driven project to deliver a high feature smart contract/EVM/DAPP compatible platform which will be used to bring meaningful and broad adoption for blockchain technologies.  Through our global community of 20000+ we plan on providing people with the tools, support and resources to make this happen. Htmlcoin is about empowering people and creating opportunities. Ultimately, we envision a “humanized” blockchain rather than something only accesible to a technological elite

Swap updates:
If your holdings are on exchanges (Yobit, Bleutrade, Coingather), swap from HTML5 to HTML will be automatic. If your holdings are in a local wallet you can swap with the self swapping webform available later on 20th November.  Don't panic, self swapping at 1:1 will be available for 60 days before the ratio reduces to 2:1 (days 61-90) and 3:1 (days 91-105), the swap offer closes on day 105. The new QT Wallet will be made available from the HTMLCOIN GIT repository on 20th November prior to the swap completing.

HTMLCOIN is not a security:
The HTMLCOIN project is building a new blockchain as a utility for the coins/tokens on it, which are a store of value and a medium of exchange, the value of the coins is something dictated by the markets and not the Foundation.  Put simply, all the coins are out there and have been mined/forged/minted, and you are selling them to each other for what you think they are worth.  The HTMLCOIN Foundation is only interested in getting the best technology in place to secure the future of the HTMLCOIN blockchain, and gain broad adoption of secure distributed ledger technology.  No one from the Foundation will discuss value of HTMLCOIN or encourage its purchase on exchanges.  Any comments that may be construed this way are private views and not those of the Foundation.

Information Releases:
For the next few weeks we expect misleading information and spoofing of our sites.  The only authoritative source of information are the HTML Foundation social feeds, websites and GITHUB.  If in doubt, confirm with at least two officers of the Foundation.

DON'T PANIC:
NO ONE WHO WANTS TO PARTICIPATE WILL GET LEFT BEHIND.  WE ARE HERE TO HELP

you'll find us hanging out at https://t.me/htmlcoinofficial most of the time

And how murch coins will be total afrter swap?

Somewhere around 70b
made of approximately:
1) 49b existing circulation
2) 21b dev costs for swap and new chain + 5 year dev/roadmap + 5 year foundation costs

Then we run POS/POW up to a POW max of 90b when we become POS only.

Do you have any personal estimate of the satoshi value of the coin in the upcoming months?

Tricky question.
To avoid being caught out as a security, we (in the core team) cannot comment on value as we have to consider it as an exchnage platform only.

But, it is worth noting the any value will be radically different to where it is now as the new coin represents a much deeper form of economic utility.

Traditional value store transacations
Payment for HTML GAS to drive smart contracts
Purchasing into services build on the HTML Blockchain
Locking in value/escrow in smart contracts on the HTML blockchain

Its much easier to think of HTML in an ethereum type model rather than a normal coin, although we clearly have a helll of a long way before we get anywhere close to that model, it is the same target structure.

again price dropped, whats going on , i dont understand..

You would think with whitepaper release we'd see more people on board. Sadly no, growing sell pressure at 2 sats. I was planning to sell at 3 but looks like my order just missed on Bleutrade. Hopefully we'll see price rebound but large amount of people selling @2 is concerning.

people who bought at 1 sat were offloading with a 100% profit to cash in on the bitcoin forks.  Awful thing was they all came back with their 10-20% bitcoin upside and had to buy back in at 3 or wait ......  the logisitics of a 2-3 sat coin can be quite complex but once we swap and move away from this part of our history with the new platform then hopefully everyone will be happier

Swap was supposed to start in September. Now it's October. Rip.

Lol, well, whatever messages were put out I can tell you we started building the new platform in GIT on septeber 13th and always told people it would be 2-3 months until we were finished, with a full suite and swapping tools.

We did try to phase it to get something in earlier by splitting out the bitcoin and ether cpp elements in an October/Jan approach, but the ether cpp stack needed to be glued into the genesis block.  This flipped us back to a simpler plan A, and with a bit of help we brought the whole thing back to going live on 20th November.

We think the full feature version in a little over 2 months is not bad for a volunteer project, but crypto impatience being what it is many people think that is far too long.  This said, all we really care about is the tech and once we are up and going people will realise its more than just a bitcoin clone.... because it isn't.

Thanks for your patience though, maybe we will see you in telegram.

I have a lot of hope with the coin. I just wish it had a different name. One without the word "COIN" in it.

I get your pain man.  The new HTMLCOIN exists as the currency in a shared network where we will create tokens.  As such, and in some peoples definitions this actually makes it a token itself.

We aren't so precious about it in reality and often swap between the two phrases, we only called it 'coin' to define it as the currency token in the mainnet deployment of HTMLCOIN.... a bit like the QTUM mainet token about to swap from the QRC20 token.

On which exchanges will tokens be traded?
A good question.  At the moment the list is only Yobit, Coingather and Bleutrade but we have applied to many and they are all waiting for us to complete the swapping process before they make any decisions.

This is largely because the swap is effectively a re-listing of the coin as it requires a new wallet and integration in the exchange.... why would the want to do the job twice, and why would we want to pay twice :-)

Keep an eye on our social media feeds as we grow the exchange footprint.

i know this token Cheesy and i have a lot HTML5 3 years ago but price its bad only 1 satoshi on bleutrade
and now you come again? is there something new?
Yes, we are swapping to a new blockchain:
sha256d, Real Time Checkpointing, Enhanced Hash Rate Compensation, 60 second block time, Bitcoincore 0.14 + Ethereum CPP fo EVM and Smart Contracts, Simple Payment Verification, Decentralized Applications and distributed computing platform,  QTUM Account Abstraction Layer, an extension to Bitcoins ‘Script’ language, sits between the blockchain and EVM and allowing Ether to run over a UTXO account structure......
...... and much more.

I really don't know why i haven't got around to bitcointalk.

What does everyone need/want to know ?

We swap on the 20th November to the new blockchain, and then the fun starts.  Like all smart contract/EVM platforms the real utility comes when you start using it for things, and we have a pipeline of our own and others projects to deploy.

Reading this thread, I can understand how and why people may claim we are a scam.  What kind of volunteer project picks itself up after a nasty attack of 51 percenters and builds a big platform like this without the funding behind an ICO or alike.

Well, we've managed it and whether or not you believe, it arrives on 20th November.
