Three elements that you need to take into account:
(1) Coin prices volatility
(2) Coin difficulty (even higher) volatility
(3) Switching time between coins
While trying to provide you with the best profits we want to avoid rapid switching between coins that fluctuate aggressively in their attractiveness..
So the dynamic algo of WinMiner takes into account the expected switch time while looking for stability in the attractiveness of a certain coin over the others, before attempting to switch.
Its interesting to see in the feedback we receive that different users have very different taste when it comes to switching - some want it no more frequent than once a day while others want to rapidly switch, the moment an opportunity unveils. We aim for the golden path that maximizes profits for everyone
Perhaps we should be adding some manual customizing capabilities to the switching algo so every user could tailor it to his/her taste - what do you say?
actually i personally had no idea that winminer takes into account that the coin might lose its profitability that's why even if its higher than the one that is selected it doesn't switch to it because its going to get back low again and therefore the one that is selected is lower currently but more stable = no switching time losing money and overall more earnings due to its stability so thanks for answering our questions and concerns and for your question, i think its great idea because as you said users here have different tastes, for me i look for the long run profits, so if not switching fast going to maximize the earnings i will leave it the way it is <3 i will simply put my trust in your customizations <3

its been 12 days now since i started using winminer, despite the small issues that occur from time to time it mostly gets resolved fast
but right now i'm facing something have been mentioned here few times which is the update times , the older the account gets the more the updates is delayed on my balance, its been over 2 hours now and my balance is stuck on what it was, i was hoping if it could be more live and more frequent, it honestly freaks me out sometimes

I've been running it since the first post and I do not see this issue - wonder if this is something on their database side for you - have you emailed the support team yet?
Not trying to say it's not an issue, just giving a bit of confidence that I'm not seeing that.
i understand that maybe its happening to few ( i'm one of them ) , not everyone, but this might make it more clear of what i meant

it got updated by the time i'm posting now its 5:18 , so you understand the delay , it simply freaks me out sometimes, when i run it for like half an hour and its still the same sometimes more sometimes less so i was hoping it gets resolved and i will send the images to the support team and see what they will do about it <3
its great application with so much potentials , its still counted as a new program in the world of mining yet its a lot better than the most used programs i ever tried, so i'm only trying to make it even better

i would like to ask, what would it be the possible causes that winminer closes on its own ? ( using the portable version ), and it says 1.74.6445.25258
i left it mining overnight, and i woke up found it closed, so the pc was basically running all night long for nothing

Hi There, i'm new to mining in general i was using another program but i'm more comfortable using winminer, its great and i wanted to say congratulations!
but i wanted to ask a question, sometimes instead of mining it just says device detected ( i can see that its using 100% of my gpu ), but not telling what coins is being mined neither how much is my estimated earnings
so should i just let it continue its fine and its still mining ? or do i have to restart it ( stop - start again ), ?
because if it means it stopped mining or its a bug then i can't leave it overnight for nothing so what i can do ?

"Device detected" is an early stage in benchmarking in which WinMiner identifies the hardware and prepares for the benchmark testing steps by fetching the right miners, drivers etc.
The length of this stage depends largely on the type of coin, the Algo to be used and the available hardware, and can range from a couple of seconds to several minutes.
If on your machine the device detected stage takes more than 6 minutes or so, then please let us know and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
