My rig consists of 2 AMD HD6970's working together who easily can manage +300MH/s and mine atleast 8 hours a day.

I think it's your GPU who's mining not your CPU. GPU are much better at is, due to their design and lay-out.
Also mining won't damage your hardware if you cool it decently and as you're also gaming you won't really shorten it's life expentancy by much

I'm fairly new to this, yet already addicted to mining and predicting course changes of coins so I've stumbled accross this board in my search for info.
Ofcourse I registered because I still want to learn alot about mining, coins, exchanges and stuff and this seemed like a good place to ask these questions.
