NOTICE

Scammers, this notice is to let you know that a list of ongoing scams and active scammers who pay for positive trust feedback has been compiled and released to the public in 72 hours. luckily, you can ensure your self protection by paying .005 btc a month to avoid your scam being disclosed in the transcript.

PROTECTION FROM DISCOLURE

i will not provide the name of the scammer to the scammer. your only option as a scammer is to contact me via pm with a donation no less or more than .005 at which time the address will be revealed for your payment and all information on your scam will be removed from the list and you will be given protection for a period of one month. after one month your payment of .005 is due again.

If these demands are not met, you will be named in this list of 39 scammers, and 289 accounts. additionally, each scammer has his own file with a list of the accounts he controls and screenshots of his scams, as well as their legal name and address.

So who/what is extortion?

we are a group that pays individuals to monitor this forum and find scammers and instances of them scamming on all known websites where their ip address, forum handle, or other identifying information shows up. we also pay people to dig information on these scammers, via doxxing and social engineering.

Wait, I'm not a scammer. can i buy the list from you?

yes the list is for sale in its entirety for 11.39 BTC, 9.39 of which was used to pay the individuals who participate in this project. the remaining 2 BTC will be split amongst the braintrust of this operation.

How much to destroy the list?
We will not destroy the list in any circumstance.

And the mafia officially enters the digital age.

Re: How often do you check the price of Bitcoin?

I keep an app on my android phone that updates every hour (the setting I have it on), as well as biticker in my browser.  So whether I'm home or away, I can always check on the price of my favorite currencies.

I'm actually glad that this forum forces new users to start in the newbie forum.  I picked up on a lot of good information, including the recently posted guide for people new to BitCoin.

Clients other than Electrum and Multibit
by
DarthMedicus
on 13/05/2013, 03:37:00 UTC
Electrum and Multibit are excellent clients that don't require you to download a massive blockchain.  My question is, are there any other clients for other currencies (mainly LTC, PPC) that have a similar feature?  And if there are some, would they be just for Windows or are there Linux versions as well?  Thanks!

Re: USB Powered Miner >300MH/s

Why are people comparing these to GPU's when, unlike GPU's, these are ready to plug-and-play? I personally think that these USB ASIC's are the key to easing people into the world of Bitcoin mining. My colleagues and I are developing a similar product as we speak.

Hope what you and your cohorts come up with is more affordable than this.  I'll certainly keep an eye out for it.

CNC's value is 22.5% of what it was two weeks ago.  Looks like it will run out of decimal places soon.   Cry

Good thing I didn't invest more than a passing glance on it.

Who is selling prescription medication? I asked a hypothetical question. I implied no intention of illegal activity. You should probably see a dr. in regards to YOUR attentiveness.

Yes, however your hypothetical question was one that referenced an activity that is illegal in the U.S., as well as some other countries.  When a person is prescribed a medication, that medication is considered legally issued to that person by someone qualified to do so under the law (physician, psychiatrist, dentist).  When the recipient of said medication tries to transfer ownership or custody to someone else, it becomes an illegally traded drug.

So while your question may have been hypothetical, it does reference an illegal activity and as I imagine is not looked upon well around these parts.

I had gotten all kinds of excited when I saw this (USB powered?  Can use on my laptop?  WIN!).  But then I took a better look at the hashrate, and then compared that to the hashrates that are being generated by people with more cash and/or better equipment.  Sure, this is good for someone just coming into BTC and looking to get their feet wet, however for the price that they are asking, I'd rather just buy LTC outright and work my way from there.

Now if they (or another developer) could come up with a similar device that would be more affordable, then I would be all over it like wolves to raw steak.

Re: I have MoneyPak, and want BitCoin
by
DarthMedicus
on 13/05/2013, 02:36:22 UTC
I'm in almost the exact same situation, except I have a $40 MoneyPak. I took a look at BitInstant but there's no option to go from MoneyPak to BTC, so is there any way of going directly between the 2? If not, I'd still be more than happy to trade with a regular member of the forum, so PM me if interested.

Not sure how you're going to proceed, but when it comes to money (especially the hard earned kind) I wouldn't trust anyone enough to do a personal transaction (no offense to anyone).

No rigs like the big boys (and girls) have, but I am running two older computers (for the fun of it).  Would love to build a decent platform to mine with, though.

Re: Hello :) What's everyone's favorite Alt Coin?
by
DarthMedicus

For me, it's LTC.  But I've been keeping an eye on some of the "newer" coins to see where they go.  Avoiding the (obvious) pump & dumps, though.
