Marijuana smoke contains 50% to 70% more cancer-causing substances than tobacco smoke. The drug can affect more than your physical health. Studies in Australia in 2008 linked years of heavy marijuana use to brain abnormalities

Re: Flat Earth
by

The idea of a spherical Earth appeared in Greek philosophy with Pythagoras (6th century BC), although most pre-Socratics (6th–5th century BC) retained the flat Earth model. Aristotle provided evidence for the spherical shape of the Earth on empirical grounds by around 330 BC. Knowledge of the spherical Earth gradually began to spread beyond the Hellenistic world from then on.

In the modern era, pseudoscientific flat Earth theories have been espoused by modern flat Earth societies and, increasingly, by unaffiliated individuals using social media.

Re: How to transfer Metamask Wallet To New PC
by

MetaMask uses something called "hierarchical deterministic wallets" (gory details) to generate addresses. Essentially, the addresses that you generate are determined solely by the "seed phrase." The first time you run MetaMask, it will generate a seed phrase for you, and then when you install MetaMask on other computers, you can "restore" from the same seed phrase. This means that the same addresses will be generated in the same order.

Re: [GUIDE] Cryptocurrency Wallets and their risks

If you're a serious cryptocurrency investor, or if you're simply paranoid about keeping your money in a digital wallet, a hardware wallet is generally viewed as a more secure option. As the name suggests, this is a device that connects to your computer but otherwise remains offline.

One of the better known hardware wallets is the Ledger Nano S. It looks just like a USB stick, except it has a small display for entering your pass codes.

On the Biggest gainers what i normally do is to look out for the coins that have significant volume and choosing base on the profit percentage the reason why is because those coins that have good substantial profit percentage but have a probably low volume lacks liquidity and its a important aspect i always look out for not allowing my emotions to make decisions for me.

Re: How do you keep yourself from spending on unimportant things?

Turn off the temptation. Imagine having a friend who was constantly telling you about seemingly terrific deals (half-off watches!), or that you simply had to try the new pizzeria in town (free dessert!). Hearing about these offers puts you in the position of considering purchases you might not otherwise have noticed. Worse, you’re likely to get worn down over time, so that you end up jumping at some offer partly to reward yourself for all of the times in the past you behaved virtuously and passed on the latest bargain. These are the effects of signing up for email subscriptions from retailers and deal sites. If you’re trying to rein in your spending, simply cancel those subscriptions. Forget the idea that they somehow save you money. You’ll save a lot more by remaining ignorant of all those seemingly amazing bargains

Philippines to develop rules on cryptocurrency trading, not to ban bitcoin ... Mind you, all regulation is good because there is a lot of scam in the market

government is trying to prevent people with small capital (read this: hard earned money) from loosing it all in scam projects...

Although it is not a perfectly regulated world right now and I understand the frustration, but hopefully things will change soon.

Re: A coin issued by some country government - would you go for it?
by

Yeah it might be an interesting idea to purchase the government backed crypto because the government issued cryto is bound to get to the mass adoption stage quickly with banks and retailers jumping into it - ultimately driving the public to use that crypto to trade

You must pay attention to the markets. Keep an eye out to see when new coins are released to trade. It might be worthwhile to invest a small amount (anywhere from $5 to $50 depending on your financial stability) on several new coins just in case one of them increases 20X+ and makes you a lot more money.

Re: Trezor or Paper Wallet?
by
David Way
on 12/05/2018, 20:55:58 UTC
With the TREZOR you should still have a paper wallet backup for it.

The TREZOR key generation is on the device though, so it avoids the situation where you generate your paper wallet on a compromised machine and therefore your keys are compromised. It's also easy to use the TREZOR if you want to spend from your cold wallet without compromising it.

Bitcoin has taken the world by storm and I think it is still considered risky by many. So when the bitcoin price is at it's all time high, I might think of investing BTC in some key projects I really believe in.

Today, listings from one coast to another tout bitcoin as a way to make a property transaction. A new collection of haute residences in Hollywood with Los Angeles skyline views go for $1.21 million or its bitcoin equivalent; in Washington, D.C., two-bedroom condos are on the market for between 36 and 84 bitcoins. In Austin, the seller of one ranch is offering a “signficant discount” if the buyer pays with bitcoin.

Re: Fiat Currency Always Fails
by

Paper currency encourages violent crime by making robbery pay off and drug dealing and illegal immigration profitable; by giving criminals an easy to use means of payment, Rogoff pointed out. In The Curse of Cash; he noted that the Swedish government greatly reduced the number of bank robberies by simply lowering the amount of cash in circulation, which made such crimes less profitable.

Ironically, this is a claim that is leveled at Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, that they facilitate crime when it reality cash is by far the largest method or exchange for criminals.
