Great news!

You can now buy XXX with a credit card

Good news.

Good news indeed, but is it really useful?

Man you must not see the potential this has, all the people wanting to use cam sites usually have to enter their credit card into their camsite, and then have an interesting bank sheet with the name of a camsite. This would let you buys XXX currency, and then use these coins on the camsite anonymously. Not only that, but it'll allow people without much knowledge of crypto-currencies to buy some easily without going through the hassle of making an account on a bitcoin exchange, sending the exchange a wire transfer or bank account info, and then buying bitcoin, and then making another account on an exchange, and then buying XXX coins, and then withdrawing the coins from an exchange into the wallet.....Which one is easier?

what?

201M coins??
oh god

pow +pos total after X years, 30 mil = pow total.

This is why people usually put total coins in the OP, to avoid situations like this. Now that we've confirmed that the number of coins is alright so far, we just need this mystery multi wallet to appear, so we can start relaxing for a bit.

By the way, will it be open source?

yeah dont make it open source.

Its all good as long as you don't protect your code but don't stop people from copying the method otherwise

I think it's ok to have it closed source during beta, let the price rise, and then release open source final in a few weeks. That way even if a copy cat copies the technology, this coin will already be the dominant one with it. But for a new technology to be taken seriously it has to be open source. Nobody will trust closed source technology with their money.

actually I was going to update the source on github but you make a good point Smiley Maybe its good to keep source closed for a while. Would like to hear more opinions regarding this matter

Let's see this thing in action first, then we can decide if we'll open or close this beta

Is Vericoin really looking to integrate a p2p exchange?
That would be so awesome if it would. Would be very apt after the whole mintpal incident and all =p

It doesn't even make scene for VRC to create an ano / p2p exchanges. This is all hype shit in the end to make a coin pump and dump.
I mean sure p2p / ano exchanges are great, but in the end if you have 100 of them they will all be useless because they don't have anyvolume.

And in the end the coin itself doesn't even serve a purpose for a p2p exchange. It's just good for funding it. And since there are several exchanges in development / released (keycoin) I would say it's a waste of time to get a ano/p2p exchange for VRC as well.

If VRC wants to stand out they should come up with something really innovativ and suprising. Not just copy existing features of other coins.

Have you been living under a rock? VeriSMS, VeriBit, and VeriSend were all brand new concepts...Moolah integrated wallets, first on VRC... an *OFFICIAL* IOS APP for a crypto, pretty much a first for any crypto, including BTC. Not sure where you get your facts from, but start getting them straight. And the fact that VRC is implementing services that have been shown to be wanted by the community only shows how dedicated and committed the dev team is to bettering this coin.

I am sorry for those of you who thought that the ViaCoin android wallet project was an official one from the dev. It is in fact only a small community project that I offered to the VIA community, and not an officially endorsed project. Again, I'm sorry for those of you who were confused by this project.

600 btc raised by the community, then the dev creates a donation address to raise .75 btc for an android wallet? is this a joke? Huh

I am NOT the dev, just an investor and community member willing to use my own resources to better the coin in any way I can.

I will be having an android wallet made for Via coin, but first I need the funds for wallet. It will cost .75 BTC and will be ready by Friday. I'm shack4 on IRC if you want to quickly contact me. Here are some pics of previous android wallets made by the same person: http://i.imgur.com/sch8e0P.png , http://i.imgur.com/hoynSi7.png . If you're willing to donate to the ViaCoin android wallet, here is the BTC address: 1JHFWthsH2eykkAuPgCVvSzuzQTEcUaPmp .

A very generous member of the Viacoin community single handedly donated .75 BTC for the android wallet, which should be released within 4 to 5 days. I will leave the donation address open however, and send all additional funds to our very generous Viacoin holder/supporter who made this possible.

Speculations on what the price will be once it hits bittrex?

So if you take a look at http://coinmarketcap.com/ and look at some of those coins and compare them using volume and
[potential] (for us) success, then you can estimate around a $3 million dollar marketcap if this coin delivers, seeing as how FTC, URO, and REDD are where they are. In that case, $3 miillion converts to around 4790 BTC. With 10 million VIA in circulation at the start, we can divide out total marketcap by the number coins to see the value of each coin: 4790/10000000 = 0.000479 (47.9k satoshi starting price).

Hope this helps, but remember, these are my arbitrarily placed numbers, not actual ones  Smiley

This is going to be the next litecoin. i like it very much。But i really don‘t know what's the innovation? The dev team is highly dedicated and has an excellent plan to bring it into the market. Dont miss the next rocket because you know where we're going.

why?
what reason?

It's one of the rarer coins, not like other coins with 100 billion coins, and it has a solid team behind it, which you can contact in the #rubycoin IRC, and personally ask them whatever you want to. Also, a fully-loaded casino is in the works, that will support other coins in addition to RubyCoin.

good .
I bought 50K from cryto rush.
now from 250 to 400,very good.
thank you.

No Problem Smiley

good initiative, very innovative
but if that really easy to create a new coin, how many bitcoin will be launched?
i think it will make people little confuse about so many alt coin

Some people have really wanted to create a coin, and have the skills to make something out of a coin, but don't have the technical abilities to make the coin from scratch. For those people, this is an amazing deal, having the ability to get everything you need working right out of the box. But for people just aimlessly making coins like you say, they're going to being paying up a lot of money to just constantly keep making coins. The price of entry is for people who truly want to create a coin and have a plan, its not cheap enough for some scrubs to keep making shit coins.

How about checking out http://www.lovecrypto.com/. It's a site where you can send a small gift of a crypto-currency to anyone in the world as long as they have an email address. It's a very clean site with high security web-wallets that make using cryptos both fun and easy. It definitely under $100, unless you want to give them multiple gifts Smiley

How is this better than just, you know, sending the crypto directly to their wallet - or to their coinbase account - or printing out a paper wallet for them?

What is the problem your application is attempting to solve?

That would require the recipient to download wallets and make accounts for sites they aren't comfortable using. This is meant to be an easy way to introduce people to crypto-currency, and to send a quick gift to someone easily. While a paper wallet is nice, its not really viable if your recipient isn't close to you. LoveCrypto has many great resources for a new crypto-holder to learn about crypto-currencies as well. The problem we're trying to solve is the difficulty of being a part of cryptos in general. By making it easy, more people will accept them and use them. I hope this answers your questions Smiley
