Faaz and matreciman, both guys with less than 6 posts. One of them with 1 post; saying "they refund me".

Come on bitpotato, you scammed people with the price change and now I think you are making fake accounts to clean your bad reputation.
Hope an admin check the IPs from where those "users" wrote; i bet it's the same as you.

I also initially started here with a new account simply to post on this forum. Smiley Unfortunately, due to LTC prices and warning signals, I've sold it all for USD right now. =P

3) The consolation for the Silver portato is 15%, I paid 21.53, but received as consolation only 1.05LTC.

That threw me for a loop the first time until I re-read the rules. The consolation prize is a % of each amount of PROFIT that the website* gains.

So if a potato bought for 1 LTC sells for 2.5 (0.5 LTC to the website), and the consolation is 50%, the consolation prize has gone up 0.25 LTC!

*edited my mistake. Wink

the other issue is, the botters seem to have an advantage when clicking on a potato that has finished payment verification vs those that have expired. now the starting price is so low those few non-botters that do win a potato when they have expired earn 2ltc at most. So the earnings have actually be skewed further in favour of the botters.

That's true, fighting the verification timer is annoying, because unless you know when that 6th verification goes though, it's really hard to focus your clicks for the full duration. Adding in a 'Finishing Payment' timer to give everyone a heads up would be handy? MOAR TIMERZ

Do you not go by the username "BitPotato"?

Nah, "Bit Potato" is the initial owner of every potato. It's hard coded into the website. Sorry, I thought you were speaking sarcastically.

It's a little worse than that. The wallet id you are referring to belongs to the user name "BitPotato". I was on for a good part of the day yesterday/last night. They got every reset potato!

Yeah that guy's a real tool (lolol)

A captcha or daily quota per ip would save customers and your business bitpotato, you have to realise this.

While your moral crusade against 'Guzer' seems to be a little extreme, do realize the following:

- I use that address for BitPotato, CoinBomb, LTC Treasure, and other gambling games. Yesterday I won two potatoes, one of which did not sell. Today, I won a cheap spud, and am likely going to lose the Gold potato today, since someone is locking it out to prevent buyers.

- A more eloquent solution to the botting problem would be to give each address a cooldown. Have it so it can only be clicked every 100ms, and anything more wouldn't be accepted. Basically anything other than requiring a captcha. Those are frustrating to fill out themselves, let alone with a race to finish it.

- A program to auto-fill a captcha is an easy enough feat, and would only increase the distance between botters and clickers, easily destroying the website's thrill.

The 'user' who's payment address starts LhRXfDoDuN is a serious botter who's constantly screwing around with and locking up potatoes. cmon bitpotato you were supposed to ban these botters by now, this same guy seems to buy every potato.

I lock the potatoes on the last 5 minutes because they're just going to be locked by someone else before the timer runs out any ways. No point waiting around another 5 minutes. >.>;;

EDIT: Fully refunded, thanks BP!

Now, on to more important issues. Bitpotato.com has just suffered from a small "Script Kiddie" attack. A user injected javascript into the page that replaced our wallet addresses with a single one: Li9kkpAuRLP2dXdgyxtgwDFPWE2V2s2Kzu.

Though we patched the vulnerability within minutes, they did manage to siphon away 177 LTC. We are refunding all these transactions out of pocket, due to our oversight. As we've said before, we feel our integrity is much more valuable to our business than anything else, and want to work directly with our users to improve the site, and right any wrongs that occurred due to an oversight on our end. We appreciate your continuing understanding and support.

Please, if you have sent a payment to Li9kkpAuRLP2dXdgyxtgwDFPWE2V2s2Kzu, send in a support email and get your refund! (Support email address is in the FAQ section of our website)

Also, keep the suggestions coming!
Best Regards,
The Bit Potato Staff

Is it possible the javascript vulnerability had caused any other bugs with addresses? I sent one to your Hot Potato when it was at 13.5~, that was definitely yours (it's popped up several times in the past), and was unable to get the 'verifying payment' to show up.

Of course an email was sent, mind you I may have mislabelled the title as I didn't know about this JS attack until just now. Still waiting on my other refunds too. Sad

Nice to see that refunds are being given out! Excited for my spot in the line to reach the front. Wink

Another quick update, we just added in a display for the current user who is attempting to buy the potato. We hope this will help end confusion in accidentally paying for the wrong potato!

A life-saver indeed, just had to refresh my page and they all pop up! Unfortunately, before refreshing the page, I clicked on the platinum potato to see if it showed up in the message, and feel like a dick for locking a random potato. =P

A blatantly lazy copy/paste directly from the email I have just sent support@bitpotato.com..

Hello, Bit Potato.

Here's an update on the unresolved issues I have encountered with your website. Please note that I still hold no ill feeling towards it, as I can understand how bugs can be annoying to track down.
In all cases, the potato was clicked rapidly until the "You almost have the potato!" message popped up, where I correctly used the information to send LTC to your wallets. The first two are old issues I have brought back up as you haven't gotten back to be on them. The last two are new ones.

Unfortunately, I've been 'withheld' so much LTC that I have to stop using this until these issues are corrected.
If able to refund any of these (sale profit not required), please send them to the following address:

That's over 600 dollars in LTC I'm now waiting for..
The website is great, and 80% of the time I end up getting paid without issue... but that 20% of the time is holding me back pretty hard right now!
