Re: Coin in PHP language!

One of the earliest non-Bitcoin altcoins was written in PHP!

It's a crazy project that never really went anywhere, but the website is still up at https://timekoin.com, and knightmb still occasionally commits code to it.

Here is the github for the project https://github.com/knightmb/timekoin

all this can be true, only if i'm not simply moving my coins around, otherwise there is no way you can tell what of those addresses are mine

You have this address on your profile: 1ARz5VBamv9oCoS2qTDgJXDE46JzWkBaYm

From that I can see all 181 of your wallet addresses: http://fpaste.org/341501/82103931/raw/

I can also see your regular receipts from YoBit.net, Bit-x.com, and Purse.io. I can also see your Kraken withdrawals in October / November last year. A small receipt from FaucetBox last year May. A withdrawal from PrimeDice in February last year, as well as three withdrawals from Bittrex at the same time. Some more Bittrex withdrawals in January, quite a few in fact. Cryptsy withdrawal in January. 2014 seems to entirely be Bittrex withdrawals, with the occasional Poloniex / C-Cex / AllCrypt.com / Mintpal withdrawal. Cryptorush.in payment in February 2014, also a Bitfinex withdrawal. And then Cryptsy withdrawals in December 2013. First wallet activity was a Cryptsy withdrawal on 2013-12-13.

Your payments are pretty mundane. Mostly Purse.io spends, deposits to Kraken and Bittrex. A bit of betting on CloudBet in June 2015. Two BitPay payments in January 2015, on the 1st and the 10th. Also two in December 2014. Most of 2014 is Kraken and Bittrex deposits, a few Poloniex deposits in March and April. A bunch of Cryptsy deposits in February 2014.

correct if you know one of my address it is not obvious that you know or will know all my wallets

Your turn! You have this address on your profile: 1K96vkMrpbRLTFZX3ydGLc8X7EAzxJGZAV

Your addresses: http://fpaste.org/341510/45821126/raw/

Receipts are mostly SatoshiMines, YoBit, LuckyBit. Payments are Cryptopay.me, SatoshiMines, LuckyBit. No wallet activity before 2016-02-05.

I wonder if this isn't going to create problems for them later on where governments or organizations will try and take them to court over a Bitcoin matter...they deserve it for choosing such a silly name!

Re: buying btc with Credit Card?
by

on 02/06/2015, 17:31:48 UTC
i don't know about low fees because the transaction can be reversed by calling the card company, but circle and coinbase both allow the purchase of bitcoin through a credit card.

Don't Circle and Coinbase only work for people in the USA?

Hi everyone! I was reading my news feeds and I came across this today.

http://venom.crowdstrike.com

It's a major security vulnerability in the virtualization software in QEMU which affects Xen and its derivatives, as well as many KVM appliances. Any MasterNode running a VPS should be considered compromised and their logs exposed with this flaw until their host patches it. MasterNode operators will have to completely wipe out their VPS and reinstall from scratch once their host is patched, unless their compromised host had additional unpatched software that allowed attackers to install a rootkit on the host system.

It would be great in situations like this if there was a way for us to only use MasterNodes we trust, especially as this affects maybe 90% to 95% of MasterNodes.

Transactions would be stored in the mempool for that week, which means a node would have to store lots and lots of transactions temporarily. It would be messy!

Re: How Asia uses Bitcoin in one color-coded map: Do you agree? Surprised?
by
DeboraMeeks
on 24/04/2015, 11:11:42 UTC
I am not agree, I am not a miner in China, I use it as a currency and remittance service. My translation service ONLY accepts btc as payment.  Grin

Sure, this isn't an exclusive map! But the majority of mining operations really reside in China. It's mostly due to the proximity to the production facilities, the low wages, and the cheap electricity in some areas. Right now I don't see any country being able to compete with that.

I agree. fox19891989, the map shows general usage, obviously there are miners in other countries and there are people in China using it for remittance.

You can also store very small amounts of timestamped data in the blockchain, which has all sorts of uses. See Counterparty as an example!

The circuits are not mechanically isolated, yet it is considered secure because they use proprietary technology. I'm thinking this is a bad direction to be going.

Maybe they will open-source the hardware design in future?

Re: [announce] Namecoin - a distributed naming system based on Bitcoin
by
DeboraMeeks
on 21/04/2015, 07:29:43 UTC

Are you talking about iXcoin?  As far as I know, the differences between IXC and BTC are much less than between NMC and BTC.  I've kept a branch of the updated code that "just" adds merge-mining without the name features on purpose, so feel free to use that as basis for an updated IXC.

Thanks but the IXC code has already been updated - we paid for it and it wasn't cheap.  And the massive pools [CEX and its Discus Fish branch] have actually updated (in secret, of course).

IXC is the only Bitcoin twin in the world.  The only difference is that iXCoin is a fully matured version of a Bitcoin so ixCoin has many advantages on many levels which Bitcoin won't be able to match for 100 years.

Other than that, yeah, BTC and IXC are the same.  Exactly the same.

I can't tell if you're being a troll or just lack the ability to clearly understand how much crap you're talking.

To prevent this sort of thing happening in future why doesn't theymos cede control of the forum to someone he trusts who lives in Russia or Belize or wherever, and who is willing to ignore such subpoenas?
