Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because...

The stock market is 70% overvalued ... crash now inevitable

Author Charles Dickens' classic, A Tale of Two Cities, begins this way: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness ... ."

According to one stock market analytical firm, GMO, today's market behavior resembles Dickens' book, which was published in 1859 and was set during the time of the French Revolution some seven decades earlier.

As the firm noted, in recent days much of the investing and financial world was focused on a meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, attended by Federal Reserve chairperson Janet Yellen. But GMO analysts were watching other things and events happening in the market.

In August, the firm noted in its monthly report – reproduced in part by Zero Hedge – that Shiller P/E, a respected metric for measuring U.S. equities valuation, surpassed 27. Given that normally its range is somewhere slightly above 16, it appears that valuations are looking a bit larger than they should be.

What's more, GMO noted, the last time the Shiller P/E was above 27 was in October 2007, "and we all know how that movie ended," the GMO report said.

'A tale of mediocrity, at best'

And though no one at the analytical firm is saying that the nation and the world are set to experience another Great Recession and near-meltdown of the global economic order – and nothing is written in stone saying that stocks are not allowed to become more expensive – "we continue to maintain our bias against U.S. stocks," the firm said in its report.

At the same time, the firm said, it was tracking a widening disconnect between fundamentals of the U.S. economy, corporate America and their stocks. "It really is a tale of two cities," the analytics firms said, "one of mediocre fundamentals versus a meteoric rise in markets."

In assembling some relevant metrics pertaining to the overall health of the economy and some top-line/bottom-line figures from the S&P 500 index, the firm looked at gross domestic product growth, productivity and household income, in addition to some others like revenue and earnings for U.S. stocks, just to round out the assessment.

"It is a tale of mediocrity, at best," the firm wrote in its report.

After that, analysts contrasted those metrics with actual market returns of the S&P 500 Index spanning the past five years. "Truly meteoric," the firm wrote, adding this caveat: "As an aside, we at GMO have always been leery of drawing too many investment conclusions from staring at economic data–we are more valuation-oriented, after all–but even we are struck by the divergence."

Re: Bitcoin is Falling...Is it Panic Time?
by

According to my friend preev.com, as of press time, the value of Bitcoin is standing at $2,351. Though I would say that this still considered as a feat, some are worried because it almost reached $2,800 again after the correction that happened days ago.

I have read that the decline can partly be contributed to newcomers especially neophyte traders who still have to be well-versed on the market...and can easily be ignited to do panic selling once they can fell that anything can be wrong.

Against this backdrop...are you holding on to your Bitcoin or transferring it into another digital currency?
My question is why we should panic if we see the price of the bitcoin is going down? We should be aware that panicking can lead us to create bad decision and eventually we will lose our money if we panicking.

Re: Does Bitcoin have a future?

I just read on Btcjam blog that they are closing down: https://blog.btcjam.com/2017/05/25/btcjam-is-closing/, now I am just wondering if big players in thebitcoin industry are closing down, is there any future for bitcoin really.

I came to know about bitcoin through btcjam when i was introduced there to borrow. Eve in this forum, looks most signature campaigns might close down because of the ever rising price of bitcoin. Most of them have reduced their payout amounts for posting by more than 50%. Is this a good sign or a bad sign for the bitcoin development?
The bitcoin proved to us that it is really have a bright future. I think many people will enter to the cryptocurrency world because of bitcoin. I believe also that many people will become rich because of bitcoin. The bitcoin has really good future.

Re: Convincing people about Bitcoin
by

on 15/12/2017, 16:44:24 UTC
Hey there.

I have recently gotten into this whole crypto-world. A long time ago I actually started mining bitcoins, but the returns were so bad I stopped (I would be rich if I had not, back in the time where you could make some decent bitcoin just with your pc...)

Anyway. I am trying to convince people that Bitcoin is the future. But currently people think I'm some crazy idiot. Why would you invest into virtual money?

What advice do you have to get people interested in Bitcoin?
My friends are now one of the bitcoiners because I influenced them. They became interested to the bitcoin because they saw that my life becoming better than before. They also saw the money that I earned because of the bitcoin.

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink
I always imagining what will the world looks like because of the bitcoin. I come up in idea that bitcoin can't replace the paper money but bitcoin will also use by the people. Fiat currency and digital currency will stay in this world forever.

Re: How do you deal with loss?
by
Decalcomania
on 13/12/2017, 11:02:54 UTC
So in trading how do you deal with loss? For example you've invested in an alt and now it has fallen quite hard and you're on the brink of losing all your bitcoin you invested in it.
How do you actually deal with it? Do you wait and keep on waiting in hope that it will bounce back up and return your investment or you sell and get whatever left of your investment?

How do I deal with my loses? For me, losing in trading is normal. It is also necessary for us to become a professional trader. We can use the knowledge that we earn when we lose for us to make money in trading.

Re: BUY high sell low ?
by
Decalcomania
on 11/12/2017, 09:10:02 UTC
or may be buy low sell high ?

Lot of noobs traders , don't control their emotions and make worst mistakes : buy at high price and sell at lowest

how to control this ? = put orders (buy/sell) and close the platform
Staying calm can avoid buying high and selling low. The reason why many people committed it is because they are panicking. If we always stay calm, we can avoid that situations.

Coinbase CEO believes bitcoin will replace dollar within 15 years.

Read the following news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114983/coinbase-ceo-bitcoin-will-replace-dollar-within-15-years

Do you think it will be true? Are you positive towards bitcoin's future status?
Do you think that the bitcoin can replace dollar? Do you also think that people will agree that bitcoin can surpass dollar and become global currency? Bitcoin will never surpass and replace the dollar.

If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.
If I will choose between bitcoin or gold,I will choose gold because I gold proved that its value will never decreased. I am still not sure to what future that the bitcoin will face. The price of gold also is more stable than bitcoin.

Re: could bitcoin be replaced by another crypto currency?
by
Decalcomania
on 04/12/2017, 16:26:20 UTC
i do this question because i´ve read in this website issues with bitcoin, slow mining process, high fees, etc. and i´ve read too good reviews of some altcoins, ethereum (smart contracts), ripple (for transfers between banks), dash and nem. these altcoins called 2.0. could bitcoin become just in future virtual gold reserved to companies and rich people?
Do you think that there is altcoin that can replace bitcoin? There is no altcoins that can surpass the bitcoin because the people will continue to buy and adapt bitcoins than altcoins. Bitcoin will be stay in the first place forever.
