Starting a crypto company in France: feedback on SASU + PSAN + upcoming CASP license?
Hi everyone,
I’m working on setting up a small Bitcoin-related business in France — mostly consulting, invoicing in BTC, and eventually offering basic custody services for individuals. I’m considering creating a SASU (a simplified single-person company), but I’m realizing how complex the legal landscape is becoming.
First, there’s the mandatory PSAN registration with the AMF, and now with MiCA coming into force, I’ll also need to get the CASP license before mid-2025 to remain compliant.
Has anyone here recently gone through the process of launching a crypto business in France? I’d love to hear your feedback about:
– how long PSAN registration actually takes,
– the tricky parts when setting up the company (statutes, K-bis, pro bank account),
– which banks or fintechs are crypto-friendly,
– whether it’s better to hire a lawyer or use one of those “all-in-one” platforms that handle company creation and legal steps.
Real-life experiences (both good and bad) would be super helpful. I’ll keep updating this thread as I go through the steps — hoping it helps others too.
Thanks in advance, and looking forward to your insights!
