If there is an alternative to a Google product, that's the route I'll take every time. Google does not respect your privacy and they have a strong bias against crypto.

Re: $Millions in Investment. Why Did Investors Choose Coinbase?

Investors use coinbase because its easy to set up, easy to use, popular and for a newbie there is really no competition on where to start buying bitcoin.

Ditto. This is why I use Coinbase.

Re: 60% of world population cannot access computer so Bitcoins will fail.
by

...compared to say u.s. dollar bills which you can hold in your hand or stuff in your mattress.

this is why bitcoins will not go mainstream because majority of human beings on this planet do not have access to a computer.

successful gold standards are things like toyota trucks, ak-47's, u.s. c-notes which thrive in places like afghanistan and africa.

I don't think, if true, this will cause bitcoin to fail. Close to 5 billion people have mobile phones and 3.2 billion have internet. These
technology leapfrogs eliminate the need for computers.

Re: The scams I've seen in crypto
by

Okay guys, and what could you tell me about pure scam coins like Jesus coin or FUCK token.

They have capitalization more than 1 million dollars, they are listed on exchanges, but it really ridiculous because they don't solve any problem. Any thoughts?

FUCK is not a scam.

I don't know how you could take something like Jesus coin or Fuck token seriously from the names alone. If you're not a scam, then don't pick a scammy name for your coin.

Re: Two important strategies in crypto trading
by
DefDope66
on 06/07/2018, 19:32:55 UTC
In crypto trading our choices and decision are as important as the profit we come out with in the trades, but to be the best we have to perfect those choices.

Many people are familiar with buy and hold as a good strategy to make profit, of course this has been a good strategy for many, but for the day traders who don't have to wait all this long on a single trade, they have to follow a different other method which is buy and sell when they are at certain smaller percentage profit. But when you combine this two methods in your trading you tend to make more stable profit than anyone using only one approach.
Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences on this

Buy when it is less than $1. Sell when it is over $19,000.

Re: YouTuber's using marketing schemes toward bitcoin
by
DefDope66
on 06/07/2018, 19:27:59 UTC
I am tired of seeing YouTuber's with "How to make $1000 with bitcoin in 10 seconds" so I created a video discussing some of the famous "experts" on YouTube.

Many YouTube cryptocurrency "experts" will try and sell you products using marketing tactics. With these huge subscriber platforms, comes great responsibility and so I am here to point out some obvious tactics!

YouTube Video: How to save THOUSANDS by not investing in these marketing schemes

My editing was poor but I think you will find the video entertaining if not informational!

What do you guys think about these YouTubers discussing bitcoin strategies? Crypto Oracle, Ryan Hildreth, and JR business.

It is crazy to think that Google is being restrictive with cryptocurrency ads on the search and display networks but these ridiculous bitcoin videos are allowed. I guess the question would be whether they will let you advertise the videos on YouTube.

Re: Google will ban ads involving cryptocurrencies
by

on 29/06/2018, 18:15:07 UTC
It seems that because of the excessive advertising power before, most people have reported or complained? Indeed 2016-2017, they accept a very large number of advertisements. Perhaps people's awareness of encryption was not that widespread. But I don't think this will be permanent. As you said, now is the era of the digital economy, and only the accepted talents can hardly see the future.
ICO advertising may be strictly managed in the near future, which also promotes the development of the market! Isn't it?

Interesting update on this as far as timing of my post yesterday. As of today, I have seen ICO ads getting disapproved by Google. I'm rather surprised by this. I really didn't expect them to take action against cryptocurrencies. I still believe, like you, that this will not be a permanent ban. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out.

We are entering an era of multiple digital currencies, and many of them will survive. Bitcoin is certain to be one of them, but it can't be number one for every factor. Where do you think Bitcoin will stay as number 1

  • Store of value
  • Services in addition to simple money transfer
  • Convenience
  • Security
  • Investment/speculation
  • Safe transfer speed
  • Privacy
  • Freedom from globalist control
  • Other

Bitcoin will be the most recognizable digital currency for the foreseeable future because it has a brand identity. For the average person, it is probably the only dc that comes to mind.

I've been skeptical about this from the beginning but I strongly think this will not be happening now. Facebook is lifting their ban only a few months after its ban partially went into effect. I believe Google thinks it is in their best interest to take ad revenue from this and has no reason to restrict advertising if Facebook is not.

Managing ads for ICOs, I have not seen any slow down or negative effect for a ban that was supposedly starting now. Any talk of this will probably quietly fade out and things will stay bau.

Re: How to clean up the forum ?
by

on 20/06/2018, 18:35:47 UTC
Quality over quantity, for sure! There are so many junk posts that offer absolutely nothing to the conversation. When should I sell my crypto? or do you think the market will recover? do nothing but clutter the forum.

There will be people who are new to the crypto world who will ask questions that elementary. Perhaps they should be segregated to a separate forum thread. Judging by the number of posts on these profiles, many are purely spammy posts.

Re: Does modern civilization is currently progressing or declining?
by
DefDope66
on 12/06/2018, 18:46:02 UTC
I think we are getting more intelligent as a race, but humans are devolving quickly getting weaker by the day. If you look at how easily offended and lazy people are becoming it is depressing, especially in the first world. (I know I am generalizing, ofc there are tons of strong hard workers left)

I believe this is true. I can't help but think social media, in particular, is responsible for people being offended by everything. The anonymity and the ability to cut others down without repercussions seems to embolden people to act with disrespect toward others and a hypersensitivity that leads to being overly defensive when confronted with an idea contrary to their personally held beliefs.

It is unfortunate 'ignorant' has such a negative connotation. We all think or say things that are ignorant. It isn't possible to view everything in life from a non-biased, educated point of view. It's just unfortunate that people are quick to stick to their guns when it comes to their opinions, even though they may have been exposed to something that can open their eyes a little more.

Re: How to known a Scam ICO
by
DefDope66
on 30/05/2018, 21:48:46 UTC
Unfortunately, it can be easy for people to make a scam site look real. Read the whitepaper, check LinkedIn or other sites to verify that the owners and dev team are legitimate, verify information matches other information on the internet. Simple internet searches can go a long way in verifying the legitimacy of a company and the team involved.

Additionally, check where they are located and answers to FAQs if provided by the company. They should be striving to be as transparent as possible.

by
DefDope66
on 17/05/2018, 19:08:52 UTC
I think this was a good idea and I'm glad to see the SEC is warning the public about ICO scams. It should not negatively affect legitimate ICOs that have resources for their team and the ones that are not making outrageous claims about returns. The campaign is not really any different than campaigns to warn against real estate scams or scams that commonly target the elderly.

Re: Do you think it is fair to save merits for high-quality, low-ranked members?
by
DefDope66
on 15/05/2018, 18:06:44 UTC
Whatever bitcointalk is trying to achieve with merit-based ranking is failing.

1. The number of posts drops off over time. After submitting roughly 50 posts, bitcointalk is counting 32 of them. I do not make spammy or irrelevant posts and they are not off-topic. So I spend time contributing more posts which leads to more time on site with 0 merit, which on the surface will make it look like a spammer account.

2. Bitcointalk is not giving members enough merit to give to others (see the rest of the thread on this topic.)

3. Bitcointalk doesn't seem to care and hasn't done anything to address the issue.

Re: Poverty and its effects to the world
by

Here, at the forum, was the opinion that cryptocurrency is one of the tools to combat poverty. But to do this, you need to change your thinking, get the appropriate knowledge and act. And who will tell poor people about cryptocurrencies? So I think that cryptocurrencies can not help in the fight against poverty.

Some of the poorest and most economically depressed countries are embracing cryptocurrencies. This is an interesting experiment and we'll be able to see how cryptos can make a positive impact on these regions.

Merits 2 from 2 users
Re: Google will ban ads involving cryptocurrencies
by

⭐ Merited by paxmao (1) ,theyoungmillionaire (1)
It's hard to know what goes through the minds at Google. It seems they like to get on a mighty large moral high horse. In addition to the crypto ban, they also recently announced a forthcoming ban on bail bonds. Why? "Studies show that for-profit bail bond providers make most of their revenue from communities of color and low-income neighborhoods..." I doubt this ban will have little effect on the bail bondsman business, just as I believe it will have little impact on cryptos and ICOs.

Now there are reports that Facebook has had its own interest in cryptocurrency. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-05-11/real-reason-why-facebook-banned-all-crypto-ads.

So, where does Google's real interest lie? Is an ICO/crypto advertising ban a moral stand or are they protecting their own interests?

It is one thing for bitcointalk to add criteria for building your profile. It is quite another for your posts to disappear over time. Are the admins deleting some of my posts? If so, why? I am not spamming and I'm not posting frivolous comments.

Re: "Not equal" (the book)
by
DefDope66
on 20/04/2018, 16:06:55 UTC
Friends, I decided to write a book in English. I'll write to this topic. English is not my native language, so I will be grateful for the correction of stylistic errors.

Not equal

Here's the point: now on planet Earth there are 2 genetically different biological species of people. Some are intellectual and compassionate - it's you and me. Others - stupid and hard-hearted - they are.

Chapter 1. The Brain
Chapter 2. Another species

Do you mean sociopaths, psychopaths, or both? Do you think people fall firmly on either side of the divide or are there sociopaths - people with a weaker conscience - that fall into a grey area?
