Bitcoin Silver was a joke that somebody made, and a whole lot of people believed it (including me).

Infact, Bitcoin Silver already exists and it is the definition of a scam coin:

So to answer your question: No there wont be another fork in December.

trading volume just went over $1m again and price is ticking up. I projecting a price of at least $17-$18 within a couple of weeks.  All the cowards must have sold by now. ha ha

900% within a couple of weeks is an optimistic prediction to say the least Wink But why not? I would take it  Cool

I figure Monero and Dash are over $1,000,000,000 market cap so PIVX must be worth at least $1,000,000,000. Actually more than Monero because it has a proven Governance system.  And more than Dash because it has true anonymity (zerocoin protocol).

So yes conservatively $17.50 each which would give it a $1,000,000,000 market cap.

PIVX is shit, because the devs fail miserably at testing new features.

The price of PIVX will tank hard once the issue is fixed, send your coins to Bittrex immediately when it is possible and dump them before it is too late.

When can we expect the new wallet to be available to fix the bugs?

When it’s ready and tested.

Lol tested... I think the PIVX developers don't know that word.

Re: Which alt coin will gain most value in 2017?
by

on 24/08/2017, 18:28:53 UTC
NAV COIN, why?

- They have a very active development team, with weekly development updates.
- So far they have always delivered what they promised (they have been arround since 2014)
- One of the most exiting projects in the works is called Polymorph, this will allow you to send a whole bunch of different cryptocurrencies anonymously through the NAV dual blockchain. So for example, you will be able to send ETH or LTC anonymously.
- The NAV team understands that user-friendliness and marketing is very important, how else are people going to find your awesome product?
- Marketcap of 16 milion USD. In my opinion this is undervalued for this coin, so there is a lot of room to grow
- It is available on 2 big exchanges (Poloniex and Bittrex), it might be added to Shapeshift soon, because Jaxx is planning to add NAV to their wallet.

You aren't a billionaire until you hold that value in fiat. Just be careful.

Do you seriously think that billionaires have billions on their bank accounts? Hell no, you are a billionaire by definition if all your assets (house, stocks, cars, crypto, fiat etc.) combined are worth a bilion.

Re: [POT]PotCoin - Banking for the Legal Cannabis Industry ✦ ✦ ✦Grow With Us ✦ ✦ ✦
by
DenDanny
on 23/08/2017, 16:01:59 UTC
Personally I think Potcoin will have a struggle to compete with Dash which has the same legal marijuana market in its sights.  I don't see much in the specifications to differentiate Potcoin from many other cryptos so it looks like the main selling point is its name.  That might help to some degree in the marijuana space but it will be a big turn-off for mainstream adoption in other markets

Intriguing, on what basis do you think that Potcoin will compete with Dash?
I just compare the technical specifications and I do not see any similarities between them.
Dash supports transactions with a high level of privacy, and Potcoin does not. Dash has the algorithm X11 but Potcoin -script.
Dash does not have a POS, but Potcoin does.
Dash has Masternode and Potcoin does not.
I can continue to lead the differences between these two coins for a long time, but it is also clear that there is a big difference between them.
I think that most Potcoin's capitalization is held solely by the bidding on Poloniex.
This is easy to see if you look at the site coinmarketcap.com

Lately, there are bad rumors about Poloniex.
They changed the user agreement and long ago disconnected the chat.
If something happens with this exchange, then the price of Potcoin can fall very much.
Moreover, if this system will have 420 million coins..

Of course Potcoin has its narrowly specialized market, but given its specifics, users will choose to have a pay with coins having anonymous transactions.

It is not the technical aspects that Dash is competing with Potcoin, it is the use cases. Dash will have a big role in the legal cannabis industry, it will basically do what Potcoin wanted to do. Dash will be used to process payments through partnerships with the two biggest two cannabis POS providers in the US. The deadline for this is due in December this year.

Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAV COIN - NAVTECH NOW DECENTRALIZED!

Somebody wrote a very detailed analysis article about NAV. It reminded me why I have invested in NAV and the huge potential this coin has, that the current Satoshi and USD value doesn't bother me anymore.

Link to the article: https://medium.com/@jshocrypto/nav-coin-investment-overview-e79ffffefd99

Something I don't really understand well.

Do I need to make a nav server to take tx fees or is it good with portfolio as well?

I don't completely understand your question, but I think you want to stake NAV?
To stake NAV, all you need is the Core wallet and some NAVcoins. You will earn 5% per year if you leave your wallet and computer running. Another method is using a Raspberry PI to stake NAV, but that is not essential.

You don't need to set a server up, that is only meant to decentralize private payments (I THINK, correct me if im wrong).

The Polymorph feature of NAV Coin could be a great replacement. It will enable users to send a whole bunch of different cryptocurrencies anonymously through the dual blockchain powered NAV anonymous transaction system.

This feature is not out yet, it is still in development.

max coin suply?

There is no max supply, it is a PoS coin. Every year the amount of coins will be increased by a maximum of 5%. It will be less than 5%, because not everybody is staking their coins.

How do I update the core wallet on Mac OS? Just delete the app, then download and install the updated one?

If I have a copy of the wallet.dat file, then I will be fine in case something goes wrong?

Don't worry. I have $100s of k in coins Nav is one of my largest holdings. This is a great coin and with this market cap it is set to explode soon!!! Hold tight and keep on snapping up on the pull backs :-)

Agree. I hold a fairly large amount of NAV and I won't be selling my coins anytime soon, because this coin has so many good things going on.

Re: Medical student $300k+ in debt... Crypto investments a way out?
by
DenDanny
on 23/05/2017, 20:57:33 UTC
Hey guys,

I'm currently a medical student in the US and will graduate heavily in debt in order to chase my dreams. The prospect of being $300k+ in debt is extremely anxiety inducing to me and have seen how it cripples freshly graduated residents. Until recently I've seen this as nothing but an inevitability but after following cryptocurrencies for some months, I've seen the promising potential of this field. I placed a test investment of a few hundred dollars and have already doubled my initial amount in less than two weeks. I am considering taking out an extra 10k in loans to invest in crypto (relative to 300k it seems like a drop in the bucket). Do you guys think it is in the realm of possibility to have that investment eventually pay off my debt? Currently I am invested in NEM, Waves and Wings. Thank you so much for your help!

I would not recommend to invest money you loaned, in something so risky as cryptocurrency. I also feel like we are in a bubble right now, pretty much everybody and their grandma can make money with crypto at the moment.

Re: PIVX: Who got rich from this?
by
DenDanny
on 13/05/2017, 10:23:20 UTC
I never heard any news about them. Why it pump huge? Is there anyone know why? I just sold my PIVX 5 weeks ago. How unfornate of me. Its not available on Polo but manage to get pumped up like that. It will go to the moon if its available on Polo. Hope Polo will add it this coin soon.

I'm confident that will happen this month, but there's also other really big things in the works and was even discussed on Nasdaq.com:

- PIVX was mentioned on nasdaq.com as one of 4 anonymous crypto https:/[Suspicious link removed]/gJMp46ypeU
- PIVX has been added to Livecoin & Changelly in the past 2 weeks. More in the talks.
- PIVX has had 2 major wallet releases within the past 3 weeks. (v2.2.0 then v2.2.1)
- PIVX devs has had a meeting with "the" Charles Hoskinson last week.
- PIVX HD mobile wallet is in the works. More details avail. in few days. (coinomi as alternative)
- PIVX devs has now started the Zerocoin protocol project in full-throttle. (will be a game changer)
- PIVX budget system is back up with superblock (block 648000) happening in 9 days. (first time in 2017)
- PIVX block halving (50%) is happening at the same block in 9 days. From 10 to 5 PIV per PoS block.
- PIVX has at least 8 devs currently working on Qt/blockchain & mobile wallet etc.
- PIVX Slack has now nearly 5000 users. Still growing everyday. To join: slack.pivx.org

Pathetic attempt to make the prices go up, so you can stop bagholding this coin.

Segwit voting is now at about 85% in the last 800 blocks. At this speed, NAV Coin will lock in Segwit in a couple of days.

http://navcoin.org/segwit/
My first thoughts were they will surprise us with completely new anonymous code or something, but not with this. I suppose now is too late to jumps on this wagon? I remember time when Nav was dumped to 50sat, who would say?

I think there is still a lot of room to grow, NAV has a great team and they have some interesting projects going on. Besides that, I expect a price jump when Segwit will be officially locked in.

NAVcoin will begin signaling Segwit on May 1st.

They also have a great team of developers and interesting projects going on, check it out. Smiley

I checked on their website and it looks this is a promising crypto-currency. However, I looked at their roadmap and didn't see anything mentioning about the SegWit thing. Can you point me out to any article that says about signaling SegWit activation?

Edit: NVM, I already saw it in there Ann thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=679791.22400. I'll just have to check it out.

NAV Coin, why?
- Solid development team, who are known by their real names. This indicates trustworthiness.
- Innovative features that are coming this year
- It still has a small marketcap, so there is a lot of room to grow.
- Segwit voting will start on May 1st, so it will most likely result in a big rise
