We can try to promote it better, do you have any ideas? I was thinking about a cryptsy vote giveaway to. And make more announcements for things this community is releasing. By example for the paperwalletgen u could make an [ANN], or for the android APP. This will generate more skeinviews, and if succesful more miners.

Dat is niet helemaal waar. Het klopt dat er ontzettend veel BTC copies tussen zitten. Maar er zijn een aantal die wel vernieuwend zijn en wel degelijk innovativiteit met zich mee brengen. Dan heb ik het over onder andere SKC (skein), Blake, Quark.
Quark is op dit moment bijna uitgemined, maar bijzonder innovatief met 6 hashes. SKC mine ik ook en is gewoon een erg energie efficient algoritme (GPU word 20 graden minder warm).

Zoek een altcoin waar jij vertrouwen in hebt. Zie bijv. DOGE is atm heel populair maar moet niet gezien worden als maatstaf, deze coin sterft wss na een paar maanden weer. (hoge difficulty doet hem op dit moment al bijna de das om).

Hmm, so what it comes down to, it doesn't matter how good your coin really is as long as it meets a few criteria. You guys say quark/blake/skein and a few other do that. How do we make this popular, what other popular altcoin fora exist and should we be posting on? I would be very willing to do some marketing, but I am not into the cryptocurrency community so I need to know where to promote this then

As an absolute cryptocurrency noob, I can tell you no one with my level of noobishness (quite alot i reckon) would ever mine this.

I have been mining SKC for a few days now and as a noob in cryptocurrencies I was wondering what coud lead to potential succes for an altcoin. I figured this would also be helpful with the "marketing", as u guys were speaking about it earlier.

Hopefully u guys will be able to help out with these points.
 
First of all a few arguments I saw passing by in other topics that made a coin fail:
1)Pre-mined PoW coin = fail 2)Bad community? 3)Popular because of the name (conye, weed, alien) 4)A copy of BTC (why not use BTC then?)

Now I know SKC passes the first 3, but I am not technical enough to understand what makes SKC an alternative for BTC, what does SKC have over BTC, why is it renewing?

Secondly, pretty much the opposites of the first, what could lead to succes:

1) A solid community, support, bugfixing 2)A good image/reputation (no pre-mining), the logo, an app 3)Functionality, what can I do with the coin? I already saw the idea of buying Skeinsocks coming by 4)Innovation, better technology (Skein claims to be energy efficient for example)

I think answering these questions could actually help make it more popular, if answered correctly ofcourse Maybe make a small advertisement text out of it.

What do u guys think about these points? Why is SKC better then other alternatives?
