First: Arklan - you did an awesome job. My expectation for level of service is basically measured against what I would get in a Target store or Wallmart. You are waaaaaay better than that.

Second: My order of 5 miners took a one day side-trip to the beach (thanks to USPS), and should now be arriving tomorrow (wrong zip code on the package - Arklan, no worries... I like my miners "well traveled" anyway Wink

For those few of you that think Arklan did anything but exceptionally well... you are very small minded.

Fire risk reduction/suppresion?
by

I've got a couple of machines now mining 24/7 in my garage, and planning on adding 2 more machines.

Heat is an issue, I'm blowing (then venting) the majority of that, but I'm curious if anyone else has installed any kind of standalone fire suppression system. Clearly installing an alarm above the machines is easy, but with these machines running unattended for days (and on a few occasions a year, weeks), I would feel better if there was an easy way to set up a suppression system above the machines.

Any guidance/thoughts/experiences to share?

Would be somewhat humorous if a different customer (or prospective customer) started showing up every couple of days on their doorstep.

I did consider contacting the consumer protection division of Kansas' Attourney General's office to see if they would consider investigating them... but figured that was more work than it was worth (at least at this point).

Very good business decision - glad someone was willing to act on the opportunity to do this (fortune favors the brave).

If you have working units (in a reasonable timeframe) I will likely be a customer.

Keep the info flowing as you make progress...

I've already committed to 5. If we end up short (on payment) I will commit to an additional 5 (possibly more). There may be others willing to do so as well.

It would just take me about a week to get the coinage (initial funding via dwolla, etc.)

Note: this is *not* a request to up my current order Wink

Java Ring:

I worked @Sun for ~15 years. I was part of a team that built some of the very first apps for demo'ing the capabilities of the Java Ring, including an interesting demo where we created our own (toy) crypto java currency (to make it easier to demo, we built in the ability to "mint" new "coins" for anyone who had a ring and wanted to try the demo - not very secure, and hyper inflationary), stored it on the ring, and used it to buy cans of coke from a coke machine (embedded the reader into the payment receptacle on the vending machine). The software was easy, the hard part was going from digital to analog and back by integrating the reader into the vending machine (this was pre-digital vending machines - we had to rewire the whole machine, learned a ton about how multi-step electro-magnetic solenoids work). For the digital piece we used an embedded PC running Linux (and Java), with wireless Ethernet.

I think I still have several rings lying around somewhere - the readers were cheap, but the rings were pretty well made.

What part of China are you located in? I will be in HK, Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenyang for business in about 2 weeks.

I'm interested in 2 of the devices, but I would need to see them working (in person). In addition, I will not pay cash for these (won't carry that much in person), so we will need to use some other form of internationally accepted payment (preference?)

I will require paperwork for the machines showing their original cost so there are no issues w/customs (will likely need to declare them entering the US - or might ship them back from HKG or Tokyo, depending on weight/ease of delivery).

I work for a rather larger software company (one of the largest worldwide) and now doing research into crypto currencies. There may be interest in supporting wallet technologies more closely within our platforms, depending on what we learn about the surrounding technologies.

I have a rig mining Ltc right now, and looking to build one for Btc in the next several weeks.

The forums are extremely informative - would like to post some technical questions in a couple of them to start a dialogue around software support from platforms (mobile and server-side).

Thanks,
