I too find that the Spondoolies packaging makes a good sound dampener under the miners ... not that I've added any 'art' objects on top of them  Cheesy

But really, is that the best you can do with the cables?

I don't have a problem with cables normally, but unless you have incredibly good cooling, those units bottom right have a rather impeded airflow due to the spaghetti.

Huh The cost of the Corsair box plus the miner cost and ongoing electricity costs ... do you think you will see ROI?

The S3 has a good airflow built-in, does the Corsair enclosure compete/improve that? CFM would have to be the same, unless the unit exhausts quicker than the S3 fans.

Looks like spamming to me ... WARNING don't entertain AMT in your life.

I was actually very frustrated with my data center search until I filled out a request at http://www.datacentermap.com. Within 24 hours, I was contacted by three different data centers in the area that I hadn't previously considered, and ended up choosing one of them. I highly recommend that site to start your search.

kendog77 thanks for mentioning this site, never knew it existed ... I have two SP10s and two forthcoming SP30s I'm looking to find a home for.

On a sidenote, since we're talking about power, my provider here in London (British Gas) was going to increase prices to over £0.16/KWh (that's US$ 0.22!)... so I'm in the process of switching. That'll bring me back down to £0.11 ($0.15). Every little helps!

That's interesting, I've been on £0.1282 with BG, they now want £0.16 as they did from you. Best I've been quoted is £0.1321 ($.18) from Scottish Power ... out of interest, who are you switching to?

Just wondering if anyone has been paid yet?

Antpool has removed any reference to ERC20, and so far I have not received any payments (like most people I imagine?).

If they have now moved to paying in BTM, we'll need to change the wallet address ... and what then happens to ERC20 'pending' payments I wonder.

Love you Bitmain, thanks for the continued support and transparency about your 'new' pool.

Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread!

Keep the thread going for sure, a lot of people find it very useful (Although we are well past 'New Year' now).  Wink

I've been gradually selling a lot of my GPUs over the past few weeks, shifted over fifty 1070 Minis, with good profits as resale is still good. They sold for more than they cost, so 'free' mining from them. As for the 1080ti cards and others, not sure, still on the fence deciding what to do with those. You have to run your mining efforts as a business, and my gut told me it was time for a change. It would have taken around 10 months to mine what they sold for.

I don't want to enter/start yet another ASIC debate, but with Bitmain and others cracking nearly all of the Algos, it's just the pace and evolution of the business. Nothing lasts forever, and I'm happy to move on and try things another way. I'm sort of hoping 'programmable' miners come to reality this year. In some respects Baikal have set the ball rolling as they add new algos now and then to existing machines. It would be SO INTERESTING to know exactly what all these manufacturers have on the test bench, let alone live in the data hall ... but as consumers we only learn the facts after they have almost bled the system dry before they decide to retail them.

UK power costs keep going up, wish I had access to solar or better deals, but long term we are stuffed over here and increases in electricity of 5% once or twice a year are not uncommon.

So ... for me it's re-focus time. Embrace the likes of the Z9 (putting algo forks/changes/ASIC resistance aside), realise profit from the hardware I have, buy some more coins and hodl.

As the saying goes 'give it a year' ... and the landscape will have settled in a different way to what we have been used to.

Looking forward to new more efficient GPU/ASIC/FPGA hardware coming out in the months ahead, I'll be buying back in I hope.

(And yes, I dropped a BIG bollock buying the B3, should have known better, but at 310w power consumption (so my meter says) it's a 'punt', just the way mining the likes of Raven have been. HODL over time will tell).

Well ... it's Monday and no payments made yet from Antpool?

Earnings are sure taking a dive: 59/44/40 and then 28BTM yesterday.

Obviously more units coming online ...

I just wish we had more pools to choose from, this whole Bytom B3 mining experience so far has been a cluster fuck for sure.

ViaBTC said they were opening a BTM pool once the mainnet was running, but as yet it hasn't shown up. I've not had problems with that pool in the past.

It would be nice to have a European pool so latency can be reduced, it feels like we aren't quite getting the rewards we should with all those discarded shares mounting up.

I may be wrong...but I think? you can only mine it on antpool (bitmain's pool)
others?
brad

I found this snippet of info earlier: "Apart from the cooperation with Bitmain, Bytom also signed cooperation contract with 8 wallet service provider: Kushen, imToken, Bitpie, Bixin, Kcash, Cobo, Bepal, Hufu and 9 mining pools: Ant pool, F2pool, BTCC, Spider pool, UUPOOL, Xiamen pool, Poolin, 91POOL and Viabtc."

Here we go again ... (assuming the info is correct) Bitmain flying by the seat of their pants as usual:

Bitmain issuing 4000RMB (628USD) refund to first batch B3 buyers in China.

I ordered one unit, in the UK ... yes please Bitmain let all the other worldwide buyers have a refund too!

Check the miner list, there are are least six miner progs available for RVN.

x16r (Raven) + many others.

People have been mining RVN for weeks with SMOS, my weapon of choice was enemy-1.03.

Anyone with problems mining cryptonightv7 with nvidia? xmr-stak

Everything seems to be fine:

[2018-04-07 19:38:25] : Fast-connecting to cryptonightv7.eu.nicehash.com:3363 pool ...
[2018-04-07 19:38:25] : Pool cryptonightv7.eu.nicehash.com:3363 connected. Logging in...
[2018-04-07 19:38:25] : Difficulty changed. Now: 100001.
[2018-04-07 19:38:25] : Pool logged in.

but than:

[2018-04-07 19:38:25] : Pool logged in.
[2018-04-07 19:38:59] : Result rejected by the pool.
[2018-04-07 19:39:21] : Result rejected by the pool.
[2018-04-07 19:40:59] : New block detected.
[2018-04-07 19:41:48] : Result rejected by the pool.

Trying to point some 1080ti and 1070 cards that way, but getting the same result here ... tried all sorts of tweaks, but no dice ...

@ tytanick - I find it quite useful every now and then to sort my rigs by temperature, but it looks like there is maybe a bug in the system.

When sorting from high to low I get this: 62℃/64℃/60℃/59℃/56℃/63℃ etc.

Just an observation, would be nice if they displayed in the correct descending order (ascending order produces the same random result).

I'm running nothing but 1070/1070ti + 1080ti cards on all my rigs, but got a bit frustrated about the rip-off charges for new cards at present, so just bought x6 1050ti cards for a new rig.

Using Simple Mining OS, mining Equihash, Core 110, Memory 800, Power 100 and getting 1020sols at 440 watts. It's not great when you looks at the sols per watt (compared to my other rigs), but the rig is earning. But these cards are cheap, so that kinda makes me feel better  Cheesy

I'll see if I can tweak it a bit when I get the time.

... waits patiently for prices to come back down to earth again ...

I was seriously going to give this a whirl, need a good accounting system, such a pain keeping track of cryptos etc.

After reading through the last 10 pages or so it I'll give it a miss and stick to Excel for the time being.

Hope they fix the issues for you all ...

I guess im wondering why the board needs extra power if the cards are not receiving any power from the PCI slots. Seems like they are just there as left overs (or an option) from before there were powered risers. Manual says they need to be connected but seems like old info.

I'm running lots of these boards, all using powered risers with no extra power to the molex connectors to the board - all running sweetly with no issues.

If you see the warning notice to power the boards from the BIOS screen, just press 'n' and ignore it.

Is there any news from adding new dstm's mimner to SMOS. Even it has %2 dev fee, for 1060 it is %3-4 faster then EBWF's miner.

It was added earlier today, switched a few rigs over to it ... looks like I might have to tweak a few OC settings as its continually resetting the server difficulty level and few cards are stopping. The console read-outs in SMOS look a little weird at times.

Tytanick also added an updated Claymore miner.
