Bitcoin is running great, finally, right?

Anyways, I am in fact thinking about NFTs At first I thought they are distracting us from goals like banking the unbanked and hedging against a broken financial system. But the more I read about it, the more I believe it gives substance to the entire crypto space.

As for the missing DigiPiglet, I contacted @minerjones on Instagram, I'm sure he'll check his messages at some point.

Hey guys! The DigiPiglet Piggy Bank project is halted due to security concerns regarding the QR codes. I wanted to create an easy and safe alternative to hardware wallets and exchanges (with ledger being hacked just recently, I think the idea is not far fetched). However, as there are so many concerns with the creation of paper wallets, the printing process, the danger of compromised computer equipment involved in the process, and other issues, I've decided to put this project on hold. I will be on the lookout for scalable ways to create a secure paper wallet/physical BTC, so that it becomes much easier to give away a couple bucks in crypto. If I find a way, I will start a new project and create something more "covert".

As for the DigiPiglets, I am thinking about something new, so stay tuned

It is indeed a little inconvenient to send it physically, but that's what makes it special

I printed the private key on some high quality paper, rolled it up and stuffed it through a tiny hole I poked in the bottom. It's more of a rupture in the material than a hole, so you can't really pull the piece of paper out unless you cut a bigger hole into it.

Since the Kickstarter campaign didn't get funded, we'll do some work on the product, so expect some changes.

However, our trust chain is still on, currently on its way to Greece after spending some time in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany

The mass produced versions will come out a little heavier and firmer. The prototype was glued together by hand, therefore, it's not as robust as the final model. So if anybody receives the piglet with a dent or some other flaw, don't worry

Please make sure to have anyone who participates share the story and a picture somewhere online. If someone doesn't feel comfortable to show themself on the picture, just shoot a picture like the first one in the original post.

How about after we finish the physical trust chain, we initiate a digital one? Maybe with some digital collectibles?

Let's establish that we use tracking/insurance if we send it overseas. Domestic mail usually is fairly reliable, but we should not take the risk if we are sending it far away.

I want to do both + I want people who never experienced Bitcoin before, to hear about DigiPiglets and get to know how (easy) Bitcoin works. When I showed the DigiPiglet to people and explained how it worked, it was much easier for them to wrap their head around, than when explaining Bitcoin in theory. We can minimize risk if we personally hand it to others. I was hoping the piglet would find a Bitcoin community hub somewhere, where a few people could hand it to each other personally before sending it to a different country.

You're right with your assessment, but you always have that risk in a trust chain. The reason we're going through the effort of sending it from person to person is that we want people to hold this thing in their hands, share it, show it to friends and anyone that's interested. We're not about being the most efficient charity out there, just completely different.

Does the mail carrier have an inquiry process for stuff like missing mail?

You can't, that's why it's a trust chain But I have a digital footprint and I'm happy to engage with you guys in real life. If you check out my Kickstarter you will find my real name. My LinkedIn is out there as well.
