Phil, it's the same as before.  Our internet went out for a couple hours, and when it came back online, I started getting those same errors I was getting before when you helped me.  I spent some time trying different combinations of those numbers we were messing with, and just couldn't get it to work.  I was literally hours away from moving out of my house and into my fireworks stand so I just let it be.  I'll start working on it again this evening probably.  I wonder if the the boards or if the MB are nearing the end of their life?  I'm also dealing with comcast to try and get a new modem.  We're pretty sure it's becoming unstable.  In other news, they're running fiber in our neighborhood right this minute, so I'm anxious to find out when that will be available for me.

Good morning all,

I'm rejoining the land of crypto after about a 2 week hiatus.  Our family sells fireworks for the 4th of July every year, so the past 2 weeks I've been living in a van down by the river!  Just kidding, in an RV in a parking lot selling fireworks :-)  I haven't had much bandwidth for the forums during that time.  I've been playing catch up on my favorite topics.  It's crazy how going offline for a couple weeks can push you behind in the crypto news so hard!  My rig went offline right before the break, and so I've lost a couple weeks worth of revenue.  Gotta start troubleshooting it tonight.  But my PC has been stamping out RVN pretty solidly during that time.

Seems like the landscape for gear is starting to change slightly.  I'm anxious to get back into not getting picked in the Newegg shuffle again.  I've missed all those rejection emails LOL.

Hope you all are well.  Will be caught up hopefully by end of day.

I'm curious too.  Interestingly enough I just tried monero today, I have 18 xeon CPUs doing nothing so I'm trying to see if I can make it (or something) work on them. Did you  have a bad experience with Monero, or just trying to find something more profitable?

I would love to today!  I actually have a few dollars in the account that I could go ahead and pick one up if I did win!!  I will be sad if I make it to 50 tried with nothing.

A few weeks ago I alluded to buying a lego set for my son, that I knew I would be going up against bots for.  The bots clean out lego supply in minutes, and then you find all the legos on ebay for 3x the price the next day (sound familiar?)

So they released a special R2-D2 set, 2300 pieces, and I made sure I was online, card in hand, ready to go at midnight when it released.  As soon as it hit midnight, the site slowed to a crawl.  Everything was super slow in responding.  I managed to get my order in, and paid for, and as soon as that was done (now 12:03am) the site said you could "backorder" the kit.  3 minutes after that, the site declared them sold out.  I couldn't believe, and didn't believe it, until the package was on my doorstep.  It was a bit of a rush fighting for it!  I hope to feel that rush on a graphics card someday LOL

right?  I didn't even realize I had it.  I built that computer 4 years ago, and a co-worker just gave me a list of stuff to buy.  I didn't know anything about mining, I just needed it for work stuff.  The fan on my PSU died last week, and when I cracked the case open to replace it, I was like "hey, I have a video card in here!!" I had to scroll scroll scroll way down the list on whattomine.com to find it, but lo and behold, I can get 5 MH/s on Ravencoin with it LOL.

I think we're going to start seeing hard drives next on the Shuffle.  Those are the latest-and-greatest-missing-from-shelves item.

Side note, I realized I have a "barely a gpu" gpu in my desktop at home - a 1050 ti.  It's now adding 7 or 8 Ravencoins to my tiny stash each day.

one other thing I haven't been able to figure out... do we know what a "block" is?  Is one block equal to one plot?  Or do a series of your plots constitute one block?

I'm imagining that you have 629 blocks, right now doing nothing but sitting there waiting to be picked by the lotto, right?  So you win a block and now one (or more) of your plots are being utilized by the blockchain, is that an accurate understanding?

From what I'm reading, you should be due soon.  I am sure that the "days to win" is not cut in stone, right?  I like the analogy that it's like printing bingo cards.  The more bingo cards you print, the better your odds of winning.  And I'm guessing, that the math probably works out over the long term, so if it says every 15 days you should win, you could hit three blocks back to back on day 45 and that 15 days to win still holds true, does that make sense?

At 60TB you've got the biggest farm of anybody I've talked to, sure would appreciate your feedback if/when you do win a block.  It would be curious to see how that looks.

Also, again as I understand it, it's not about having the drive space - I think you have to have that much plotting done.  So it's not like saying 60TB of space, we need to say 60TB of "plotted" space.  And from what I've read, it seems some people don't seem to understand that.  But that's my take on it.

Following this one with great curiosity.

Last night made me 0 for 40 on the shuffle.

Seems like the universe has something to say to me LOL.

I did learn that I could make about $1 a day mining Raven on my home computer and since I'm only on that machine a couple hours a day tops, I might as well put it good use.  So I'm going to look at setting that up this weekend.

i haven't actually bought anything from NE in years.  Can you get pre-setup with storing your card on file and stuff so you can just click click go when you get picked?

I picked my one!

It's been hard to do that these past couple of entries.  Been picking like all of them previously.

So I read an article last night, saying that Nvidia was re-nerfing the 3060's.  I hadn't followed this super closely since none were available to buy, but I think my understanding was this:
 - They came from the factory nerfed for mining.
 - They accidently released a driver update that didn't have the nerfification applied, and tried to retract it, but ooops, too late - it's out in the wild and everybody downloaded it to bypass the nerf.
 - Now they plan to release all new GPUs with another update that re-nerfs the boards.

So my question is, can we all still just re apply that accidental driver update to bypass again?  I know nothing of modding or updating GPUs yet, I'm not messing with the rig I bought unless I have to.  Just leaving everything running as is.  But I am curious for these future boards.  Will we be able to override them?

That's insane!  That's like 25% win rate.

Just checked my emails and I'm 0 for 29. Maybe today will be lucky number 30.  LOL

I picked just one of the 3070s.  Will try this strategy for a spell.

Tomorrow night at 10pm my time I'm hoping to snag a 50th anniversary star wars lego set for my boy's birthday.  I'm worried that the bots will all beat me to it too.  LOL.
