I'm finalizing the pool reconstruction, most likely it will be up in a hour.

thanks for the update. glad to hear things are moving along.
im still not 100% on the situation or how payments will be handled but its nice to know progress is being made.

so i just got home from work and see mining.bitcoin.cz is still down and has been now for about 24 hrs. I have had my miners going pretty much the whole time at about roughly 1 Ghash/s.
I guess my question is am i going to be compensated for the work I put in or should i just call the last 24 hrs a waste and start mining somewhere else?
also any update on or ETA on the website? i read a couple posts back that slush said should be up in a couple hours but that was last night...  Huh

everything is explained in the thread

all i got from the last couple pages are...

1. website was compromised
2. moving to new data center
3. mining is still working and we will be paid by slush per block instad of PPS
4. passwords where salt and peppered and possibly ketchuped
5. fight club mining link was talked about when it shouldnt have been

i apreciate the work done by slush to keep up his pool but all i want to know is if its worth to continue mining on his pool or switch wile he works out the kinks. thanks

I appreciate his efforts and this is why I decided to stay with him (his pool) even under suboptimal circumstances. I can mine without interruption, and I assume rewarding will be taken care of once things are back to normal. He will open up the front-end when he feels it is ok to do so. This is my personal opinion, based on what I have seen so far.

It is only him who can provide authoritative information - but I believe he has more urgent activities than focusing on communication. And I am ok with that

right on. Im still mining on slushs pool but just wondering whats going on. like you said though he probably has more urgent things to focus on and i guess i dont really have a choice but to be ok with that.

Ok so i just checked my email and my mt gox support ticket and what do i see to my surprise. my account suspension had been lifted!   Cheesy
This has made my day being i was about to call the account a loss and start trading with another exchange. I see alot of negativity towards Mt gox and there support team and that was almost what made walk away from them but then figured i had nothing to lose by submitting a ticket. They answered all questions (as to why the account was frozen) pretty quickly and sent me information as to what was going on with the account everyday and within six days the suspension was lifted. Im now happy as can be to withdrawing funds and trading on there exchange again. so all in all i just wanted to update and let everyone know that i had a positive experience with mt gox support team and the issue was resolved fast. thanks mt gox! your support team has restored my faith in you  Cheesy

wish i would have read this thread before i started using mt gox.
just started getting into bitcoins the other month and left all of my 110 bitcoins on there exchange.
signed in the other day to withdraw 10 bitcoins and got some "your account needs to be verified message"
didnt think much of it untill i saw what they were asking for. ive sent them emails and opened up a support ticket yesterday but havent gotten any real answer from them other than the normal sorry for the inconveince letter.
i even opened up another thread on this forum about it but havent heard anything back yet
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=56384.0

im very disapointed to read all this AFTER it happens to me but thats usually how it goes.
If i dont get my account back im pretty sure ill jus give up on Bitcoin all together wich is something i really dont want to do

I hope mt gox will do the right thing and make sure people get there money back in "a timely fashion" as bitcoin is rapidly changeing in price value and there is nothing that can compensate for lost time, not even a free Yubikey  Cry

Mt gox Account Verification
by
Dirtyhippy42000
on 02/01/2012, 17:30:34 UTC
So i signed into my mt gox account the other day to withdraw 10 Bitcoins and was greeted with " your account needs to verified to make withdraws"
Being that im still pretty new to bitcoin, i think ok no big deal they will just send me and email ill verify and ill be ok.
As most of you probably know that is not the case. Mt Gox wants and i quote " Your government issued photo ID (passport, permanent residence card or driver’s license) " and "A scan of either your monthly utility bill (power, phone, TV, gas, water, etc.) or a certificate of residency issued by your local government."
i have two problems with this.
1. I dont have any of those things except my drivers license and im pretty sure thats not enough
2. Hasn't Mt Gox been "compromised" before? I don't think I would feel very safe sending this type of information to them knowing there "security" is not very tight.
Im very upset about this and about to call my 110 bitcoins a loss not wanting to reveal to much of myself to what seems an almost impossible way to receive my funds.
I guess my last hope is that some kind soul out there can share there experiences with MT gox support team and persuade me to trusting them enough to send them my personal information

oh and by any chance someone from mt gox support team wants to help a newbie get there money back and keep trading on your exchange my request help ticket is number #17309

will update if anything ever happens to the account....

just signed into MT GOX to withdraw 10 bitcoins and got the under review message.
i dont understand why nor do they give a reason. ive only been a member of gox for almost 3 months but i havent had any problems untill now.
i sent an email about it but after everything ive been reading it doesnt seem like im gonna hear back anytime soon.
i really hope mt gox gets there shit together because i liked using them as my exchange and am not looking to go somewere else.
(wich of course if i dont get my 110 BTC back from that account i will)

when and if mt gox ever does anything about my frozen account ill be sure to update...
