Well I thought I was ok with 2 PSU with stock AWG16 pci-e cables.

Above pic was from Strider 1200 Gold with stock AWG16 cables. It was running 2 of my 4 KNC Titan cubes.

Did this one plug run 2 cubes?  AWG16 are rated to handle 16A if you have top shelf 90C rated wires.  4 cable pairs at 12V is a pretty simple power calculation:  4 x 12V x 16A = 768W

Each cube takes 350W.  2 of these should be lower than the 768W max of those power lines, but you probably didn't take into consideration the plug is rated at 13A.  This is why the melting started near the plug, not it any wire kink.  Each cube should take a single plug directly from the power supply...with its own plug...this means no sharing.  3 cable pairs x 12V x 13A = 468W.  More than enough to handle the 350W required by the cube.

2 pcie plugs would have been a seriously cheap solution.  I think the real solution is to remove the crappy plug and hardwire 2x 8AWG lines to bus bars.

Lesson learned: KnC cut corners, but buyer beware.  Do the math and save your ass.

KNC has been assuring readers of its forum that the bad experiences of Titan owners who conribute to the KNC forum are not typical customer experiences and that impressions of unreliability and faulty behavior of the Titan gained from reading the KNC forum are a result of sampling error, ie: most posters on the KNC support forums are going to be people having problems.

Fair comment. However KNC are unable or unwilling to produce statements or affidavits from happy Titan customers.

So, lets take a survey.

Are there any Titan customers here who have received a fully functional and reliable miner which continues to operate reliably and can mine any scrypt coin at 300+ Mhs without baby sitting, firmware reloads, SD card reflashing, or significant bfgminer errors ?

Bought 1 Titan.  FW 1.04 and 1.03 had same result.  3 cubes work flawlessly at ~75Mh/s....1 cube had a single core producing a paltry 7Mh/s, other cores in this cube are dead.  RMA'd the bad cube.  Currenlty mining ~225MH/s at litecoinpool.org, 115%pps because they keep the doge (which is fine with me).   Stupid alt coins switch too fast for the titan anyway.  Even 2.5 minute blocks is too fast for titan with their 4 second flush.  That's a ceiling of 97.3% efficiency!  What a joke knc.

My defective cube continues to degrade. 2 more DC/DC down as of an hour ago, for a total of 4 defective DC/DC on the same cube. Just sent a request to RMA the cube.

I received one defective cube as well.  3 of 4 DC/DC down.  The cube hashes at about 7Mh/s in bfgminer.  The other three cubes are working flawlessly around 75Mh/s each.

It seems as if this problem is widespread.  Do you think KnC has manufactured numerous cubes and shipped 3 winners and 1 loser to each of their customers?

1.

Can someone please tell me which Miner Settings are working ... I'm mining since 1 year with cgminer, sgminer and ccminer but I don't have a clue what's Quota Huh

These are my current not working settings:

{
  "pools": [
    {
      "quota": "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3333",
      "user": "my-BTC-walletaddress",
      "pass": "x"
    }
  ]
}

2.

HW Status says only ASIC Slot 5 and 6 are working but two other cubes should be recognized. I have 2 PSUs with 1300 watt each, both running, all cube fans running.

I've connected all 4 cubes the same way to the board, red wire on the right, if you look at the board.

One red LED (below PP10) is on, at the top board (the one with the LAN connector).

Any ideas?

3.

How do I savely shut down the Titan with 4 cubes?

THX

{
  "pools": [
    {
      "quota" : "1",
      "url" : "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3333",
      "user" : "my-BTC-walletaddress",
      "pass" : "x"
    }
  ]
}

Safely shutdown Titan by killing power to the controller board first, then power cycling the remaining power supplies directly connected to the cubes.  You can also run command "sudo shutdown now" to shutdown softly or "sudo shutdown -r now" to reboot softly.  All needs to be done at bash command prompt from ssh pi@.

Replacing the class 4 SD card with a class 10 gives better read/write capabilities to the linux platform.   I'm still having a problem with reboots though.  The miner will run for a while, heat up the DC/DC on the boards and then blank any submissions, yet bfgminer stays open for a few minutes until the counters reset and start mining again.  Lots of delays between submissions.  The first 8 hours of mining has been sporadic at best.

Throttling all hot DC/DC cores back to 275MHz to see if the hardware is just stressed.  In 1/3 of a day, I have only roi'd 1 ltc.  Sad  More details to come.

Stoaked.

Don't get too hyped up...it backed off to 300-325Mh/s.  Firmware 1.03 FTW!

Looks like cheap scrypt coins don't work because the flush occurs so fast.  The reset on the getwork is a significant delay that affects only poolside results.  Say good-bye to multipool coin jumping!

Disappointed to see 1545VA at the wall.  Good thing this is a 20A socket!  Took 3 hours to setup, which included killing the first build with bad firmware update.

I highly recommend ditching the class 4 micro SD and purchasing a class 10 4GB to get more stability.

Currently mining at www.wemineltc.com (0.5% donation) with dogecoin aux-pow.  Seeing 330MH/s+ poolside.

Anyone have shipping updates with their order #'s?

Mine is 198** and still showing nothing but paid.

Don't you just love dealing with these Douche Nozzles?

I second the douche nozzle remark.

That being said...My titan is on truck for delivery today in the United States.  Order # 1990x, paid March 19th @ 16:46 knc time.

I challenge KNCminer to setup a pool, a proper Titan capable pool, for mining alt coins or/and merge mine or/and multipool - profit switching pool.

The pools are not setup to handle Titan EXTREME hash power (OMG) so KNC setup that pool. You must know how to set it up since you KNOW the pool is the issue and not the Titan or Firmware.

Show me a pool that can mine "other scrypt coins" just like is advertised on the product I purchased from you and show me that I can mine at a minimum average speed of 300mhs on it.

For everyone complaining about the pool side speed being too slow....try solo mining to a local wallet.  Setup RPC files with your worker credentials and point the miner to the local ip/port.  You will likely see the full potential of the Titan, hopefully 300MH/s, when removing vardiff stratum latentcy.  Local mine first too see your capabilities, then move to a decent pool like wemineltc.com or litecoinpool.org that can handle the extreme vardiff requirements of the Titan.

When your miner operates faster than the pools' databases, you will see defeated pool rates.

Can anyone comment on whether they received a UPS tracking number once their order was marked as "Shipped" or not?

Order #1990x  Paid March 19th @ 16:43 knc time.  Switched to shipped this morning when I woke.  A few hours later, received a Quantum update email from UPS directly detailing a Monday delivery.

I eager to work on my DIY kit.  :|

Queue update: order number 1990x switched to "in progress" when I woke this morning.  Hopefully ships in next 24hr.

What was your paid date ?

March 19th, 8 hours after the pre-sale press release.  16:49 knc time.
They haven't even made it through the first day of orders.  I'm somewhat happy they didn't meet their Q3 promise...now I get to mine and be a part of the class-action suit against them for breach of contract.

Breach of contract, did you sign anything with them that promised they would deliver? Unless you have something in writing and you can re-allocate to Sweden you will have a very tough time suing them for anything.

Your best bet to reach out to KNC.

Yeah right! Have you tried reaching out for a Neptune refund?  That was promised in writing and I have several mailings promising it as we'll.  Also an email promising a "bonus" percentage if I don't get it by September (missed it) and a higher percetage if I don't get it by October but it doesn't say beginning or end.
Reaching out is going to get you shit.
Scuze my French.

Likely that reaching out will not accomplish anything.  I was thinking about taking a page out of the ftc playbook with bfl and file an injunction with their business licensing arm in Sweden.   Claim that the business that sells products that have a shelf life were delivered after their profitability expired.   If KnC wants to do business in the future and sell the soon to be released "phobos", or something equally as dumb, they will have to address the duress claim.  You can't order foundry business without a fiat account...a business license is required for a fiat account.

Either way, I have a lawyer looking into the process for US-Sweden process.  PM me if you want to be on the hotlist of a class-action-esque suit.

What is the latest sent Titan order?

Order 1990x hasn't budged from "paid" status.  I made this order 8 hours after the pre-order press release on March 19th.  Looks like Q4 is showing up with knc dropping the ball on that Q2/Q3 promise.

More Titan pics : http://imgur.com/a/dCjaX

I have changed the pool : its seems the titan doesn't like clevermining.
So I'am pointing the Titan at my WDC pool and its very stable : 260 MH/s + (underclocked @ 250mhz)

wemineltc.com has high availability pools with high VARDIFF that auto adjusts....should be able to handle the whole worker at 300MHz.  Merged mining with dogecoin too. 0.5% donations is recommended.

What was your order number with KnC?  When did you order/pay on March 19th,2014?

Now that some of us have learnt a very expensive lesson. How do the Titan owners plan to come close to at least breaking even. Please share your strategies ?

I can confirm low hashrate and abrupt hashrate drops and total stops with titan. Reject rate 32,5% with Wafflepool. Using two 750 W Corsair PSUs.
http://s28.postimg.org/4upe5stj1/knctitan1.png

As it was with the Jupiter, let the heat build up in the case.  They should be stable up through 50C.

Wafflepool creates bad vardiff issues with hardcore scrypt miners.  Try to eliminate any rejects, start solo-mining to a local wallet...then post results.   Vardiff doesn't matter if the solo-miner client is on a Gigabit LAN, or even a 100MB LAN.   Start solo, then go pool.  Perhaps mine an alt with low diff if you want to get paid out for test time....something like potcoin or feathercoin has good market volume.  Doge and ltc are too difficult to test-solo-mine.

Edit:
Lol  @ Wafflecoin

http://wafflepool.com/faq

They top out at 128MH for VARDIFF...they even make you set it at login for the worker.  Think you might need to move pools bro.

I ordered a Titan on day one...about 8 hours after the press release dropped.  Order number 1990X (X to provide anonymity).  For those who have received their titan orders....what was your order number?

It seems as if KnC built the miners sold to customers promised Q2/Q3 (which actually means Q3) delivery, then delivered within the last few days of Q3 to meet their previous pre-sales promise, but they are dragging their feet!!!  They must be mining Scrypt, something fierce.  Seriously, when is my Titan going to be shipped?
