Customer service at most big places is bad. Generally.
I can confirm that, but it's more of company uncompatibility as they have too small support team and too many customers=backlog.
I don't think it would be so hard to hire few more workers for this and make customers satisfacted and always comming back, not leaving after first problem cuz customer support is busy.

Actually thats not true at all, cex have the best support team i know ; they always reply in 10mins to 3 hours.

NOT!

Have you tried to send an Email to their support service ?, and sign a message with the bitcoin adress you're using on ghash.io , to prove you're the owner of this account ,  and then request a reset of your 2FA  Wink

I have sent 1 email a week for 6 weeks to support@cex.io

and not received a single response

I trade on Cex and I've had some difficulty logging on in the past due to their 2-factor login authentication. I reported the issue on their blog since I couldn't sign in to their Support Centre. Within 2 days, an administrator replied asking me to send an email from the address I signed up with and to provide as many details as I could about the account, such as balances, account creation date and so forth. They then disabled my 2-factor settings for me. Perhaps you should try this.
I'll try that
any particular blog or just any random blog?

same with me, I forgot to backup authenticator and I can't login, so I sent email to support. They ask my balance, GHS, BTC, and last login. I forgot it, and now I leave my account.. Sad
how long you have to wait?

I can and have reinstalled authenticator (I could reinstall on another phone but what would be the purpose?).

I use Googles authenticator app http://goo.gl/Jyr3YK

It got uninstalled when I sent my phone off to be fixed and they factory reset it... (but, to best of my knowledge, large OS updates, uninstall many apps and then re-install them automatically as part of the upgrade process, it is a known problem with (some/this) authenticator that it doesn't save the accounts (hence the need for authy?)... I didn't know this at the time... I was not aware of any benefits to using authy, never crossed my mind that un-installing and then re-installing the authenticator app would cause this issue... Josef27, seems silly to need a third partry app to make a security app functional in real world situations?)

http://goo.gl/YUORtK others are having similar issues, sadly the link they supply to googles specific issue is a dead link.

The authenticator does not appear to save accounts. (This whole authentication process is still new to me, so I am finding these problems as they arrive).

To add an account to the authenticator it requires a special code, to get that code I need access to my account... catch 22

Just thought I'd both share this and (hope they are reading this an do something)

I have an account with cex.io / ghash.io

I have bitcoins in my account.

I smartly set up 2 step verification.

All good yes?
One of the problems with 2 step verification (using the phone app) is that if you swap, lose, or simply upgrade the software on your phone or anything that means you need to re-install the authenticatior app You need to access your account to set it up again. The problem with cex is there is no way to access your account without the authenticator. All my emails to CEX.io have been ignored (to the point where I have no idea if they are receiving them... and of cause it is impossible to submit a ticket without first logging in.

anyway... my experience with cex, enjoy Roll Eyes

https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer - on this page explanation for all cgminer abbreviations.

Elapsed - time since mining started
GHSav - speed of this worker (average)
Accepted - accepted shares
Rejected - rejected shares
Discarded - discarded shares
LocalWork    - number of shares sent by this worker
NetworkBlocks - number of new blocks found (for all network)
WU - number of shares sent per minute
BestShare - best share calculated by this worker

Yes, please!
Get Win32DiskImager here (assuming you are working on Windows)
get SDFormatter here
put your SD card for RaspberryPi into you SDcard reader
Format it using SDFormatter
download the latests firmware from here (select: openwrt-brcm2708-sdcard-vfat-ext4.img)
install that image onto your newly formatted SD card  using win32Diskimager

connect your pi to your router, not your computer (windows - I am hopeless with linux, and have not managed to access the control panel directly via Ethernet connected to the computer)
Boot up your pi,
wait
if you have your pi plugged into hdmi onto your TV, when it completes boot and states .. something.. something entering forwarding state.. or something (can't remember the exact line),
(if the display keeps repeating the same message over and over, then that is where it is stuck, google the message.. but be patient, raspberry Pis are slow)
point your browser to 192.168.0.100
If you see it, log in using no password, and change the Network > edit > Protocol > change to DHCP Client
Now your router will give the pi a IP address.. view your routers configuration to identify it or get IP Scanner

If, like me, your router won't allow you to address 192.168.0.100 (or any of the 192.168.0.xxx range) then you need to log into your router settings and change the IP range from whatever to something like 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.150 you should then be able to find it, you can then change it the openwrt settings to DHCP and remove any changes you have made to your router.
Hope that helps
after finally talking to the Avalon devs they suggest, ignore the default settings on the cgminer configuration page and use voltage to 7250, change the frequency to 500

I have a 290GH module working just fine. I installed most recent firmware onto an SD card for the pi, plugged it all in. Have it OC'd to 305-315GH depending on heat, runs like a champ.
ehash.com is their official site now
the email works fine, when I had some initial learning curve problems, I had a full email conversation going on w/ like 3-4 emails a day, back and forth. All questions answered.
When the price was lower on these modules, they were a great buy!
perhaps they just avoided my conversation because it said the modules were borked.
wanna share some of that knowledge? had mine running for 8 hours now but the longest "elapsed time" in the status tab is no longer than a few minutes (that I've noticed).
I can hear them restarting every few minutes.
My pool says I'm generating +35% invalid shares (and rising) (was 15% when I left alone last night).
I have a DH% of 4.7, 8.9, and 11.8 and the literature suggests not going beyond 2%
So any tips would be awesome, thank you

Warning:  New guy!

I picked up a 200 GHs Avalon that was running fine.  I've been working with it fine for a few months and I finally decided to upgrade the firmware.  Used the openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory-20140201 firmware package.

Since then it has been a nightmare.  CGMiner no longer makes any connection to my pools.  when looking in the CGMiner logs I see the following:

[Firmware Version] => 20140201
cgminer: 698d677
cgminer-openwrt-packages: 7a823a7
luci: 4544a03
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

The CGMiner page looks like the image here ftp://ftp.storagecraft.com/ava200ghs.png

I've dug through a bunch of posts across many areas.  your help and suggestions would be very welcome.

Hello!

Can anyone explain to me - how to upgrade firmware? I have Avalon3 290Gh units and currently running on MM version 331404-b191ace0 with Raspberry Pi. What steps do I need to take for upgrade and do I really need it? Tnank you.
You still need help?

done but still not working... at least the Avalons are not firing up and still not doing anything.. seems like the cgminer isn't active something is changed!!

WORKING... don't know what's changed but they are working... (only thing that's different is that today I'm at a different address with a different machine.. and had to reload everything  from scratch again..

Much thanks o/
Still, though, Avalon support is pants!
I have gone from knowing nothing of Linux to knowing next to nothing
(now for the tweaking:confused:)

now the pain of accessing 192.168.0.100 (I seem to only be able to access this by expanding changing router ip address range to 192.168.0.xxx)

I have tried with the miners linked, and (current set up) each connected to usb individually.. I have noticed although document says can link 4, they don't like address 0 (no jumpers)
