I've got an idea for you to implement: You could color the trades green/red respective, depending on whether they sold/bought on the ask/bid side. That way people would be able to see if someone sold or bought - this isn't always obvious!

I can tell you one thing, AM has just hired some new staffs! It's not a secret, many chinese know that.

How do they know? Where was this info released?

AM posted some employment ads for serval titles:

These are overdued:
Deployment Manager (10 people) (Posted Date 30/12/14) job.dajie.com/ca045b5a-21ec-4ff9-96bf-8a8a593f3309.html
PCB Engineer            (10 people) (Posted Date 30/12/14) job.dajie.com/02032919-c91f-4c3f-8fe6-8e73d9291757.html
Senior Sales Manager (10 people) (Posted Date 30/12/14) job.dajie.com/f59bded9-125f-4c1e-bf4f-f6deb7119484.html

These are still valid:
College PR (just face to colleges!)  (some) (10/01/15) job.dajie.com/4d97fffc-212b-472b-9726-70482917568d.html
Ads & Strategy Planner                (some) (10/01/15) job.dajie.com/dd165006-eef8-4676-87e9-95cdc825c375.html

I think overdued means they've already hired enough guys.

Very interesting. I mean both deadlines have already passed and if only the second one is still valid that would mean the first positions got filled successfully.
Is it still true though that people are not able to contact friedcat? I don't believe it can be true he's not able to connect to Bitcointalk - AMHASH, etc. are able, as are other people from China!

Is it possible that rising hash rate IS  AM?

I don't know... I personally doubt that. I think FC will announce the tests of the BE300 first. And after that the miners will have to be produced and set up. That takes some time, as well. But I do think leaving the boat right now may be the wrong decision, as well.

I can buy them off you with paypal, and you can buy anything you want Smiley.

Hahaha, don't believe him! Selling BTC via PayPal is a very dangerous thing! PayPal allows customers to do a chargeback, where they get their money back and your BTC are just gone. This may be a very well known scam tactic!

Well it does seem like there's finally some action. Unfortunately the price is going the wrong way and I don't see any news about why. Alt coin holders are saying their coins are dropping more though.

Alts are flat out getting pummeled.  Of course, there isn't any kind of agreed-upon index, but based on some concepts I've been messing around with, if you subtract out BTC and LTC, the rest of the alt market is down 20-30% over the last week.

Right now, TOTAL crypto market cap is 7.905 billion.  BTC and LTC make up more than $7.6 billion. EVERYTHING else combined...hundreds of alts, don't combine to make $300mm in cap.

That is partly due to 3 big IPOs running atm. Ethereum, StorJ and Syscoin.

There are some people claiming it's because of those IPOs, but wouldn't that just dry out the supply? It would only crash the market if those coins got sold by the people behind those IPOs, and the Ethereum coins haven't moved so far, have they?

Re: Why did BTC drop to $570 level?
by
DjPxH
on 12/08/2014, 12:17:36 UTC
Most worrisome to me is that this drop is caused by very low volume. Less than 9k btc.
For an individual that's a lot but at the beginning of this year we had 30-50k btc trading volumes.

Umm, could you tell me exactly where the volume is decreasing? http://data.bitcoinity.org/markets/volume/2y?c=e&t=a&volume_unit=btc People always claim it is, yet all the available data seems to indicate that it just isn't true!

Re: Can I use processing power to turn a light blub on?

I would loved to do this just for the fun even if I would have to link up multiple computers up to each other just to get the processing power enough to light it up. Is this possible or am I not understanding something?

If this is possible how would I go about doing this?

Ummm How to you want to do this? Do you want to put a lightbulb on top of a computer? Do you intend to connect it to one with some wires?? I just don't get how you intend to do that. Please indulge us in understanding what you're up to!

For detailed and ilustrated explaination of Bitcoin fees, you can visit this site
http://bitcoinfees.com/

It's a very good site that illustrates the procedure and amounts of fees that apply pretty well. I think the regular person using bitcoin won't want to take care of having to calculate those fees, though so I guess they'll just stick to whatever their Bitcoin client is telling or recommending them as a fee!

Thank you for all your quick replies.  Grin

Does anyone have a close estimate of the Break even time?

You should use a mining calculator where you can input your hash rate, the amount of fees or electricity you pay and the expected rise in difficulty (which is high, never forget that! And it's a compound difficulty increase!!!)

Very Good! Things are moving ahead it seems! Good to see AM back in the miner-selling game. But I think their number 1 revenue stream will now be self mining. I wonder when we'll see a hash rate meter about that!

Very interesting! I's incredible how times are changing, a year ago those prices would only give you a Block Erupter USB stick with 330 MH/s, yet it would run at 2.5W!
Friedcat, are there news about the deployment of the self-mining operation? You haven't stated anything in the AM thread for a while now!

1 scoop of sugar 4 cups of Honduran coffee and a boatload of creamer. If it's not frothy I don't want it Smiley

Hahah, yeah I can relate! I think a lot of cream or milk just lets you taste the aroma of the coffee in a better way. If the coffee is just plain black, it's too bitter in my opinion. You need to have something that makes it less bitter so you can really taste it!

The official report was put out by Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and they should know, otherwise they wouldn't have made a false statement putting their brand at risk while eliminating risk for the consumer: http://files.consumerfinance.gov/f/201408_cfpb_consumer-advisory_virtual-currencies.pdf

Even if you use best practices, anything that connects to the Internet—even big companies—can be hacked.

What do you mean by hacked? If I use a system that is purely interpreting data it gets from the internet, then I really doubt it can be hacked in any way. But complex machines like home computers of tablets or modern phones may very well be prone to being hacked, I guess.

Too much drugs?

If the earth was one being, i`d feel pain every single time a person dumps their sewage water into the eco system.

Well I believe that he is quite open about the use of LSD, right? So this may have been an influence. And people on such drugs to tend to lose their sense of what is real and what is just imagination. BUT: I think having an open or twisted mind may be a wonderful thing! And a lot of people could actually benefit from opening their mind a bit!

Over 60 hours later. No action and no reaction to my email and internal mail concerns. I decided not to try and contact Technocashier again. In the event they pay I shall let you know. I will prepare a highly detailed review of my experience with Technocashier when it becomes clear how this transaction concludes.

Man that sucks. This really shows how everyone should just go ahead and adopt Bitcoin as their only currency. If we only used Bitcoin as the backbone for all services, we wouldn't have to change currencies and use various services in order to get the service we initially wanted!

Re: Do we have too many alt coins?

Now i am thinking about Bitcoin. But i have also heard that altocin mining is also profitable. Its becoming more profitable than Bitcoin. I am gathering information about Altocin mining. I will switch to Altcoin mining.

The main thing that is more profitable is that mining altcoins is in most cases still possible with a CPU or GPU, since there are no dedicated ASICs available for the altcoins, so everyone can just go ahead and mine them with their regular computer at home. All the altcoins have a price in BTC.

How you drink your coffee? Black? Sugar? Milk?

I take ~20% coffee, ~80% milk, maybe little bit sugar/honey and couple ice cubes  Cool

Well, I prefer tea, but I still enjoy coffee as well. I like it with milk and sugar, because it would be too bitter otherwise Cheesy I know people critizise me for pouring so much sugar in the delicious black coffee, but man, I like it that way Cheesy

So Im just wondering how the membership position is calculated. How does the "Activity" get counted? Im just a tas bit confuzzled still.

    Activity = min(time * 14, posts)
    Increase activity by posting.
Activity is updated every 30 minutes.
Maximum of 14 activity every 2 weeks.
To make it less ambiguous , activity depends on number of days you spent on this forum and making at least equal number of posts. so if you have spend 100 days on this forum making atleast one post each day you'll have activity of around 100[+-14]

Follow the link to read in detail

Yeah, theymos made it pretty clear in his calculation, he most likely implemented it himself. But yet a lot of people don't get how it is being calculated because they don't like mathematics or mathematical terms in general, I guess!
