If you do see some project which is really worth for your money then its up to you on making such decision.Just remember on always take precaution and consideration before making any step.
If you dont know on what youre doing then its better to stick with Bitcoin or ETH or top 10 coins in the market.
I thank you for the recent replies. This one advice I always do in actualization.

Re: "The Great Reset"
by

The world cannot never be united unless there's 1 world government and borders are removed.

Yes countries wont agree with each other however if all countries use the same systems & infrastructure for example systems/infrastructures networked via the internet where the tyrant country now has the opportunity to impose its will on the world not by force like wars but via a system reset where it crashes everything that was built on the internet that took decades to build lets say like the 'Die Hard 4.0' movie where the Reset is planning to happen and if succeeded it will force all countries to start new and fresh with the Agenda the tyrant country wants in the world.

Possibility? Because everything is run on computers & Internet nowadays in the world including financial markets like the stock markets & even Bitcoin!

Not related to topic...Just popped to my mind, but do you see a possibility that when every country explores space (given we have a ship that can travel at warp speed) and set up there country in one planet and every other country will do the same? And space wars and planetary invasions will occur by who the powerful nation/planet is? And may be humans are the only species in the universe that killing each other and not united?

A newbie claiming he has 2BTC then all of a sudden stating that he will diversify it to a specific coin? This is surely a shill post. Most of the coin faces same scenario as Digibyte and this user obviously want to hype the coin because he already made a position. This kind shilling will not gonna work anymore.  Grin

I am curious if many of you out there has these same idea. Don't get me wrong, I want to invest, so meaning I want to gain via slow accumulation of small prices crypto that is a PoW. I just can't find a decent article stating digibyte is bad because it's not working or founder is an exit scam fool, whatever. But you are free to think what I am to you. A schiller? You have your freedom to say it.

I consider DigiByte for pump and dump so it's my risk to take otherwise shill me your coin and I will research on it. (ONLY PROOF-OF-WORK CONSENSUS COINS) Shill me now, Happy New Year!

It good to diversify one's investment but choosing your investment through the rank on the capital market or via technical analysis doesn't mean the coin is a good investment saying this cause I don't think DigiByte is a good investment although it a forked coin of BTC and it has been in existence for long but I don't trust the coin and I believe holding your BTC is a better decision now.

Since it has 5 algo and can't be easily 51% attack, which part you don't trust?

My first time to invest in crypto BTC, now looking for another coin DigiByte
by
Dmitri Pavarov

As the subject suggest, I have now now 2 whole bitcoin. Of course, I'm going to diversify and looked into the top 100 coins in the past 3 years via technical analysis and use cases of the project. I have seen a potential in DigiByte to be a payment solution and tried it. I know a lot of people here are maxi (found this word out on twitter) but I always consider majority of people here are into investing/profit gains and not for the real use cases scenario (Let's face it and not offending those who wants to change the system).

May I know why DigiByte is still on rock bottom in terms of it's price to USD? Can't find anywhere why this coin has not mass adopted despite it's good tech, reliable and fast. Do not emphasize Jared Tate (Founder) hitting tweets on exchanges nor participating to be a paid member to list a coin thing (I just read all of those!). What I want to hear is... does the blocksize that getting bigger is the cause and have problems in the future or some technical stuff or might be a flaw on tech, bugs, etc. Those kind of things I am concerned of.

If you are the creator of a coin and bombarding negative tweets every time, I do not care, really! Because decentralization is about getting away from control and let the mathematics do the thing for transactions not 3rd trusted parties sham.

Re: Bitcoin still a Safe Haven, haters aren't saying the truth.
by
Dmitri Pavarov
on 14/03/2020, 10:20:46 UTC
Bitcoin fell some days ago and many were of the opinion that, there's no need to hold the said cryptocurrency because it was not able to stand against the coronavirus epidemy. During the crash, the percentage of the fall was more on Bitcoin than the fiats(stocks), but reasons be that, The US Fed injected into the crashed market $168bn which in percentage is more than the current investment on Bitcoin. Possibly, this was the major reason while the fall was more on Bitcoin.

“It may sound crazy, but I think it takes $700bn to over a $1tn to stabilize the markets. The last few weeks are a prime example of why digital assets, namely Bitcoin, have a place in the global markets.”  Bill Herrmann.

No doubt that Bitcoin is a Safe Haven and not what others speculated about it being weakest  during the crash.

Do you still insist that Bitcoin isn't a Safe Haven?

Simple answer to this simple question, do you want change of the current financial system? Do you invest based on the technology the is written on the white paper? Or, are you here because of fiat gains?

The Debt problem now is creating more children slaves in the future. To win against it, hodling bitcoin means fighting banks! Bitcoin is created to fight banks and not an investment scheme. Changing our mindset today will free our children tomorrow. Think about it.

I know we deal on the present and lived happily with big gains but is that really your sole purpose on coming out on earth? There are a lot of things money can't buy. Time is more valuable than anything else, so why not share your time to make an impact of how to shape the future for good. The time to ACT is NOW! Don't waste time on your selfish mindset. Be Open Minded and let us all be free.

Re: What if Bitcoin never reaches a new ATH?
by
Dmitri Pavarov
on 30/12/2019, 08:08:00 UTC

As it's said, "Patience is a virtue". We as "hodlers" of Bitcoin should be patient in order to see better results in the future. But, what if Bitcoin never reaches a new ATH? Then, I'm afraid that most people "hodling" Bitcoin will lose all of their investment in the long run.

What are your thoughts? Huh

Only a few people wanted a true change for the world specially in the financial sector. For myself, I never viewed Bitcoin as an investment but rather a change or a replacement for Fiat money. Look, if majority of the people all around the world trust Bitcoin as daily mode for payments, that would be revolutionary. Remember 1 BTC is divisible. One that has stack the most has a lot. If fiat is gone (and i know eventually is), and say, you have 0.10000000 sats you would be a millionaire with 10 million sats. The one who stacks late, the one will be poor, in a world that is governed by bitcoin financial system.

The way you address your topic is that you are still a 'BIG FAN' of the current FIAT system. Of course, you can have what you want in the current system maybe because you're too young (can't blame you for that) and I am 55 years old and still stacking satoshis for the future of my children.

Look, my children, i educate them with crypto specially BTC but all fall on deaf ears. I recently just discovered BTC way back in 2018 of december. When i am looking how to preserve wealth in the future and i really do not believe in gold as it is not portable and many people will hunt you if they knew you have one. That's when bitcoin gave a solution. I looked at the white paper and educate myself in it. And said to myself that, this Bitcoin thing will be revolutionary!

Feel free to give some as I happen to inspire you on what the future holds for Bitcoin and it's religious Hodlers!

1ExugepQLkgxEczarMkLCC1d7zEVyZqYqz

Thanks and may be a prosperous year 2020 for us all, specially, the Bitcoin Hodlers! Be safe!

You have your opinion and we have ours. I will still buy bitcoin in the dips. Your opinion on the matter is somewhat being open to everyone that the miners are almost chinese companies. I still fear the 51% attack to come. I am thinking this attack may be seen when China disclose their own crypto.

Re: There is a better alternative to Bitcoin and why not use it?
by
Dmitri Pavarov
on 15/12/2019, 06:23:48 UTC
People are creating topic like this every week. The simple truth why there are so many hype around bitcoin - it was first. A lot of people think that this is the only one true crypto currency. This is not about tech, this is about status

And it's about where you can make a lot of money, and that is bitcoin. And it has alot of enigma behind it, Satoshi and some drama behind it.

Yes, Digibyte or any other altcoins there are far better that bitcoin, speed wise, security and scalability. However, most of altcoins are simply being used for pump and dump scheme.

Yeah you can make huge profits on bitcoin, but the main reason for me is the use case scenario which is being able to pay less than 10 mins bitcoin has to offer.

Digitbyte is not decentralized as Bitcoin.
Digitbyte has an owner, have you ever thought about it? Jared Tate.

Digibyte is only faster because it has a 15 second blocktime (instead of 10minuted), which bitcoin decentralized community decided is not good for bitcoin, but Jared think it js.
It is faster also because nobody uses their Network, so it is not congestioned.

Security is crappy also, because it uses pow and bitocin hashing power is much much bigger. This coin could be 51% easily. Bitcoin is resistant against a continental attack, because you need a continental energy to 51% it.

So all in all, if you are only worried about scalability, use visa.

Jared tate is the founder of DGB not owner. "Security is crappy" so far in my 2 days of experience it is quite secured IMO.

Actually it's not about which Cryptocurrency is better. It's obvious that many Cryptocurrencies came after bitcoin which knew what problems it was facing and they obviously tried to solve that problem but this doesn't means people would start using that currency. Bitcoin is popular because it was the first currency in this market. Now obviously with time people could shift them to other platforms but don't expect it to happen over night.

There are altcoins that have better features, such as transaction fees, transaction speeds, etc.

However Bitcoin is the face of cryptocurrency and has the advantage of being the first and most well known.

I feel the same way, in terms of popularity and first to be on space it has gained respect but that doesn't mean we will stick to it as it has some obvious problems. I'm concerned about micropayments from a daily basis and bitcoin just left me thinking to an alternative which i suddenly educate myself what really will a tech has to offer in those problems.

I thanked everyone for participating. I guess majority in the crypto space are still in the 'Gain Game' not until it is regulated by government. So far I love the feedbacks and learn something a lot from it. Have a nice day everyone!

There is a better alternative to Bitcoin and why not use it?

DigiByte!

I'm not hyping this one. And I love Bitcoin (actually i have stacks of it). I am on the verge of looking something useful. Creating a FUD or Hyping does not help me grow my knowledge.

I newly discover crypto this year. As my 1 month of stay here in bitcointalk and crypto space and evaluated top 100 crypto who stayed for almost long enough in the hundreths and did an ample experience to them. (bought them and used them) I do see a lot of coins with potential and some other use cases but for currency it's undoubtedly Bitcoin. Now, I'm even confused. There is a bright future for DigiByte out there as a currency use and for people who had crypto that stayed long enough in the crypto space and bitcointalk, I only thought of them making a fortune in it (not really thinking about the future of blockchain tech). Digibyte has very secure and strong foundation in it's community. Scalability, fees and scarcity is no issue there. They also have a decentralized broker where you can make a transaction of an investment with direct profits into your wallet.

Now my question is; Any of you here really see what is good in DigiByte? I would love to hear any replies. This is an educational question for me as I have seen what is the real use case of a cryptocurrency and I found out in BTC and DGB as a leading candidates for Global use as a currency. I also want to hear the negative side of digibyte as a currency, maybe because I'm pre-occupied or clouded at the moment of this coin with great potential in my opinion.

I mean no harm of doing this. Since this is a Bitcoin forum talk.

invest in what? altcoins? no never. at least not as long as there isn't any altcoin worth investing in. until they start creating projects that are innovative enough to have some sort of long term potential, i don't see anything changing for altcoins being pump and dumps.

in bitcoin? of course! bitcoin has long term potential as its adoption is growing and more importantly since the adoption that has happened so far is still so tiny (less than 1%) and it is actually used in the real world not just traded on exchanges!

I too agree on this, since bitcoin is not only dominant in the space but many people now trust bitcoin. The only problem I see is too slow on transactions and high fee but I think this will be changed soon.

For me Bitcoin is the legend and currently dominating right now. But as I learned along the way there is a better alternative to bitcoin which is Digibyte (my opinion). I think the coin is just way too undervalued.

Re: Survey on Bitcoin ownership
by
Dmitri Pavarov
on 29/10/2019, 10:07:05 UTC
Of course, this is not about which of the forum members own bitcoin, as I supposed you all should hodl some coin, even if only a few satoshis.

The idea for the survey comes from the never-ending news that 10-20% of the people in a country are holding coins.
As I truly believe those numbers are at least overhypermega inflated, I tried to picture a survey that would shed some light on a larger base, even if it is a little biased since the starting point is obvious a holder.
Dunno if it will be effective if this topic will even get some traction in the first place, but hey, worth a shot.

So, what I look, simply post what you know of crypto ownership in the friends and relatives circle and if it's not a secret the region you live.

Example:
2 our of my friends hold some bitcoin or altcoin or 6 out of 12 relatives also hold some coins, I live in Bartovia Tongue
But put a bit more spirit in it.

I thought about doing it on google sheets but I really can't stop that from getting abused by somebody bored so..this is it.
I'm seriously curious about those numbers and if the mentioned percentage are reached even when centered around a bitcoin.

Oh, and please be honest about it.

I am 40 yrs of age and started to seek new investment and i stumble on The Crypto Lark's Channel then that is the start of my bitcoin journey... Earlier this year, at first, I really don't know what this crypto space is... I watched the video of Lark explaining why btc made a drop of $4 around the month of April. I forgot the title of the episode but he mentioned there to "accumulate more btc for the future", then i asked to myself: "Why would anyone will do that?", "Do these coins out of thin air really has value? or "People are so stupid believing something will replace money (I'm referring to fiat)" that 3rd question leaves me with a doubt on how money in the 1st place created, used and eventually abused... fast forward... now that i learned from what causes the inflation and the inevitable economic crisis, this fiat system must be abolished, crush, murder, any synonyms to these word will do.

Now to answer the survey, I am very honest to the best of my knowledge that in my province bukidnon (place in Mindanao) in the Philippines I am the only hodler of BTC as far as i know (within my community). My parents, siblings and relatives, do not believe me when i told them that btc will be the accepted global currency in the future. Even though the implementation of the regulation on bitcoin is still far-fetched but I do believe that the blockchain technology (hence giving birth to bitcoin) is the most transparent innovation there is.

P.S. In my community, I continuously ranting on this bitcoin and how to awake people of what's going on in the current financial industry. If they knew more about the system maybe, they will think this as a conspiracy theory but the main thing is, my continuous ranting will create curiosity and never to mention that's how I started to awake.

Live life with Bitcoin!

Re: Bitcoin: Stress and Happiness
by
Dmitri Pavarov
on 26/10/2019, 09:59:58 UTC

No wonder that Steve Wozniak the Apple co-founder m/2018/02/02/apple-co-founder-steve-wozniak-on-selling-bitcoin.html]sold his bitcoin because riding the roller coaster stressed him out.

How do you manage any possible stress coming from Bitcoin's volatility?

Simple. Store your BTC in cold storage such as Paper wallet, Trezor or Ledger then stop visiting the crypto website. In my case. I left my trezor to my relative's house which they didn't know what really it is so that I don't have access to it whenever I'm tempted to trade or sell some. Right now I'm focused on buying BTC using my salary in my job and directly store in my cold storage. Wish me luck that my wallet is in good condition/safe or else I will be fck up my life savings.

----

Just buy and forget everything.

I'm new to bitcoin and from the Philippines which is only elite [rich] people only knew Bitcoin and sadly i'm in the bottom of the food chain. Anyway, do you strongly believe that bitcoin is the global currency in your life time? I'm just curious maybe i can label you as maxis... Sincerely, i want you honest answer.
