Re: Is it still gambling if you're sure you're going to win?

There are event you can predict on that even though it's not 💯 guaranteed that you're going to win,  a level of certainty makes you think that you're surely going to win.

The downside of that feeling is that you might become over confident to use a big amount in the game since you're to a large extent certain that you're going to win.

Can we still say we are gambling if the event is something we are at least 90% sure that we are going to win?

We are still gambling in this case, but I can argue this always with you that we can be confident in playing a game that it will be sure as a win, if gamblers already knows a particular game they can be having free chance ls of winning each time they are playing, then they will not stop from playing such each time they are gambling, we can't be rest assured in developing confidence on gambling, because it will be that we lose or win regardless of the game being played and there's no one that can blast of having it come as it has been presumed.

Re: What is your point of no return?
by
Doan9269
on 25/07/2025, 19:03:45 UTC
As the questions says, when do you stop? your point of no return?

a. at least double your money, then stop
b. you only stop when you have lost all your bankroll money and then blame the casino?
c. or you are a superstitions gambler, when you have signs like losing 3 straight in a row, then you quit because you know that you're having a bad luck
d. you stop when you are at least break even

Any of these options could be use by me as a no return point, it all depends on what I wanted to ha e at that particular time, as we already know, gambling is full of surprises, if we are to gamble and see what we want, then we may have no reason for placing a particular demand on what to expect and not, it has occurred on several occasions that a make decisions and still changes them at the course of gambling because I see needs arising for me to act such manner, maybe that's why I see myself being more of a flexible gambler because I don't often stick to a particular thing as I gamble, I easily change my preference and this goes along with the results I get while gambling.

Bitcoin has always been available in making things happen for us as well as to achieve the desiring change we wanted, only if we permit for it to happen, this begins about the way we are exposed to the knowledge in it, how we have been learning and observing the use of the digital currency, areas applicable for our uses and what we are really convinced about it, some have been into cryptocurrency for a while now and they have already made it in bitcoin investment or trading as they finds it suitable for their uses, as learning becomes what they easily adapt for.

In my early days on trading and investment, I make series of mistakes and couldn't discover the difference between altcoins and bitcoin in cryptocurrency, then I continue to invest more on altcoins and before I know it, almost 70% of my portfolio goes for altcoins and bitcoin was not that really much, then I keep holding till I lost more than half of my assets before realizing what's at stake, now I've already made the decision right, the table is turned and I reverse the entire process as against how I was holding before, bitcoin is my major holding, I trade for a short time, buying the dip and holding, selling high and reinvesting when the market falls, I buy upon every dip, while my altcoins portfolios are for holding within a particular season they all perform well.

Re: Should I depend solely on Bitcoin?

The part that scares me the most is that my friend has put all his resources into this one asset. If am wrong please correct me. Thanks

This is not something bad as long as he's willing to hold for a time that the market rises up to a profitable amount he could wish as we keep launching into bullrun, it was advised that people should diversify in other not to rely on a single asset as source of an investment, though bitcoin should not be seen as such that may not be profitable, it only may require time to prove profitability, while for those investing on other assets, they can have an alternative as well to compliment each other anytime one is not performing well as expected, same applies also to bitcoin, we may be in the bear season, whereby the market continues to fall, but once we had an alternative asset, we may rely on that for the cover up before bitcoin bull season begins.

Re: The "Lottery Ticket" Mentality

most of the time free bets would mean you won’t receive anything even if you won which in that case you might already end up frustrated and might regret just not betting with money

This is only possible when you failed in your attempt to play a game, but if you won, then you're most likely going to win and earn as well, the only thing they ensure doing is to deduct from what you have earned the amount of money given to you as free bet back, then you take your own winning as profits, this is what is common to most of the gambling sites, except when specified that they are giving the kind that does not come in a form of free bet.

Re: Spinly.io 🎰✨ - Next-gen Crypto iGaming Platform 🚀💸

So as gambling site they have to be dedicated to their gamblers and people who are regularly visiting their casinos, and of course before any gambler goes into gambling site to gamble they should at least read their terms and regulations to know how the casino are being operated before entering there to gamble.

This is the most important thing of all, that they read the terms and conditions very carefully Every player before making any move should always put into context the things that suit them and know what they are getting into and not regret it later because something does not suit them, This way they avoid problems for themselves and for the casino, The casino then has fewer complaints and therefore its reputation continues to grow.

I don't know maybe this is due to lackadaisical attitude or just a deliberate act not to do the necessary research for updates about a gambling platform before using them, over time now, things like this have been seen common with gamblers, ended up complaining over what they have been taken for granted and abusing without knowing, they are mostly the cause of what happened when they pay less attention to details on what is required.

Re: What is been professional like to you?

What is a been qualified as a professional gambler in your own world? The winning part or the responsible part of trying to avoid addiction is all.

I will like to say a combination of all these is what we can termed as being part of the qualifications we can use in taking a gambler as a professional type or not, to make it clear we are not being professional in gambling by the number of years pent, not even by the game we are used to play or bet we played and won, but when we have everything being in place as our overall gambling assessment and we are not mixing it up, then we are being professional in gambling.

Re: Is It Safe To Keep Crypto On Exchanges??
by

on 24/07/2025, 14:53:18 UTC
A friend who just started using crypto asked me if it's ok to have his Bitcoin and USDT on Binance or other exchanges for a long time.

No and never try this, under wallets, we have custodial wallets and non custodial wallets, try to read them and know the difference and why you should avoid centralized exchanges under a custodial wallet, to push further, why not take your time in going through this thread

Understanding CEX and DEX
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5447152.msg62015622#msg62015622

Do you leave your crypto on exchanges or do you move it immediately?

I may use the exchanges in buying bitcoin, but once this is achieved, then i moved immediately my personal wallet, which is a non custodial wallet.

What risks should people in Nigeria consider when deciding?

KYC challenges
Not your keys not your coins
Government regulations
Exchange Hacks and attacks
Data leakage form Exchanges
No freedom and privacy

Is there any safety to use for exchanges or wallets?

Decentralized exchange recommended

wallets for security and privacy
Bitcoin Core
Passport
Electrum
Sparrow

Re: 21 million BTC, is it enough?
by
Doan9269
on 24/07/2025, 08:47:39 UTC
[...]
You are absolutely right that Bitcoin total supply is key but it is not only thing that sets its price. If its supply were suddenly much bigger its value would drop significantly from today levels which are based on its fixed 21 million coin limit.

Predicting Bitcoin future price just by looking at its supply is wrong because other major factors like how much people want it. Its usefulness and how many people use network and its security and also government rules new technology, wider economic conditions, and even scheduled halving events  all play big role in shaping its constantly changing value.

If only supply matters so their are many coins and tokens which have less supply as compare to Bitcoin supply but they are still low in price.

In addition to what you just said, the whole thing here follows the law of the economy, when there's an increasing supply, then we should expect a crash down on the market price, because the value also decreases over time for not being limited to a certain supply, this is why the financial system in fiat currency failed and will always be affected by inflation, because all these discrepancies were not out into consideration, but Bitcoin network is a game changer for all these challenges a d ready to fix them all by having a limited supply, so that it's value will always increase as the demand increases.

Here are some information am able to gather after going through a search on the most gambling countries in Africa, am surprised at what i saw, to my greatest surprise, Nigeria being the least among other countries in Africa being listed, when i thought in terms of population and the likes should be the lead, many other underdeveloped countries and having more severe economy problem to have made their citizen found gambling as an alternative to livelihood, because i expected that Nigeria should still leading, which means, in Africa, We are far more better in many aspect.

Re: What is the cost of your mistakes?

Probably i will have to say the cost to my mistakes is loss of money, when i lose more on what i should have earn from, then it becomes a loss, in gambling, everyone of us is expected to know what could have led to the experience we have as we are playing our bets, because this goes a long way in keeping up with our various performances in playing games of different kinds, i lose the money i would have won whenever i gamble and got it wrong, anyway, its all about fun also, because we cant expect to always win, aside this, there's nothing.

I don't why all this is going to be a thing of the past,  because it's obvious that it's a challenge that concerns anything that has to do with privacy, which our government has always been fighting and taking it serious until they see them coming down, however, am not also much concerned since they can't succeed in the pulling down of the major source to privacy which is bitcoin, after series of attacks had been made, we still move on, the more one door closed, another opens up for more opportunities in cryptocurrency.

Re: The new era of Bitcoin '25 begin with square
by
Doan9269
on 23/07/2025, 14:41:17 UTC
The co-founder and the most important spokesperson of Square's Jack Dorsey has confirmed that, Square to allow merchants to accept Bitcoin native transactions from today. And he also said, "bitcoin was built to be used: open, decentralized, resilient. Current tax rules make buying a coffee a taxable event. we wrote a little something - it’s time to make bitcoin everyday money."

Square is now using the Cash App and Lightning Network to support Bitcoin as a currency, and through this, it is offering POS machines to make Bitcoin a truly native transaction. This is great news that Bitcoin is now a currency and the biggest advantage is that transactions that used to take 10 to 30 minutes can now be completed in seconds. If these benefits are truly available, will the new era of Bitcoin begin around the world and Can this system really take Bitcoin into a new era!?
Source

I'd like everything about this development, because it encourages for more active use of bitcoin in making payments and also help contributes to the adoption of bitcoin as its more found in an applicable manner for business to accept it use for making payments, In addition, the use of the lighting network is also another added advantage, because transactions are more faster using it.
