Re: They want you to panic :->

That is definitely true and you are indeed right there buddy. In this current situation, they want us all to panic and sell our crypto currencies at low prices in this truly downfall of Bitcoin. Sooner or later I still have a strong believe that Bitcoin will rise up again. I can say that this just a part of some other people's strategy.

Nice try. They will have to wait until the end of time! Grin

I agree, but I believe we need to find a new way to introduce it to our society because the society has changed and might not be ready to learn in an old-fashioned manner.

Re: What are your thoughts on Anarchism?
by

Idealistic anarchism sounds like a dream, but in reality, I fear people are far from being highly self-organized creatures ready for it. Should it become the reality, it is most likely to be a total disaster. I know someday people might become so civilized that anarchism may become a standard and totally safe practice. But this might happen (if it ever does) like thousands years from now.

Of course it's a necessity, but not a theft definitely. (Sometimes, depending on the government, it could look like the theft)

Re: [Good news] U.S. central bank isn’t going to regulate Bitcoin & other crypto.
by

I don't really think this is good news. The only fact it states is that crypto market has not been too significant to pose a threat. It only means that the situation has been relatively fine so far, but that doesn't mean they are not going to watch it closely and work on some kind of a Plan B in case the situation is likely to get out of control. Otherwise, there's nothing too positive in it, IMHO.

Re: Regulation of Bitcoin
by

Many governments are concern about cryptocurrency and they think it should to be regulated. What do you think regulation and how is it going to effect the price ?

Really the only thing governments can do is regulate exchanges that Bitcoin is traded on. They could never regulate it on the base layer. It likely would have a negative effect on price in the short term, but long term it would be bullish as BTC would be more legitimized as an asset.

Right. This is what I always think about when it comes to regulation. It does have certain benefits.

Come on! That sounds ridiculous! What do you mean Bitcoin can consume more energy and do more harm to the nature than coal mining, oil refineries, landfills and other non-btc-related stuff which probably far outweighs the potential damage Bitcoin might be doing to nature?
Sounds prejudiced.
But don't get me wrong, I do know it has an adverse effect on Nature. Just don't want to exaggerate and shift the responsibility onto bitcoin alone. I believe all people MUST think more carefully about the environment.

Re: Why wait for the SEC? We are not their puppets on a string.
by

It is sad that so many people are eagerly waiting for the SEC to pull the strings on the future of Bitcoin, when the future of Bitcoin is not built on governments approval or denial of financial instruments based on Bitcoin.  Angry

We should forget about these government employees that are playing us like puppets and we should cut the strings and build on our own success.  Angry

People should just continue to focus on natural growth and development of Killer Bitcoin applications and also improving the technology and distributing more Bitcoin ATM's etc. etc.

We should not place our hopes and dreams on what the SEC wants to decide, but rather what the people wants. These government employees are supposed to serve the people and if they stop doing that, then you should use your vote to get rid of them.  Roll Eyes

Stand strong, Do not sell to the Fiat masters and Hodl on!

I'm okay with staying strong as most of us probably are, but I can see two main points here that deserve our attention (or maybe not...).
On the one hand, the more Bitcoin becomes officially recognized, the better for its development and coexistence with fiat (i.e. more transparency->more trust->more people involved->more turnover, etc.)
On the other hand, providing Bitcoin gets more under the government pressure and restrictions, the crypto community always has a choice, like going underground, which is fine by me and even sounds more exciting Wink And going underground could mean higher prices (same as with the rest of the stuff that remains in the shadow)...
I might be wrong, of course. Just a thought.

Re: Why is Bitcoin making the world go crazy?

Yes, because overwhelming majority of people is dreaming of getting rich overnight and the last year's to-the-moon showed them that it might be quite possible. As simple as that. Some of those 'witnesses' even sold their homes, you know. People are greedy Wink

Re: Is it too late to invest in bitcoin? Is it a bubble?
by
Doctor4You

I think bitcoin has proved not to be a bubble since it's been around for more that one or two years. And of course, no, it is not too late to invest in it. However, you'd better be aware that the prospects and time frame for the market to get bullish are pretty uncertain and it is too hard to predict. It has been more a like matter of trust so far. So, it's totally up to you to decide whether or not to take a chance on it Wink

What's the use of arguing and guessing here? I guess, we all should be patient, relax, and watch the market movements. I doubt we can do more than that.

Re: Why do some people in crypto still wish the downfall of Bitcoin?

I guess because panic is one of the most powerful drivers in a market like this. We need volatility, don't we? Because, stability is the worst enemy of high profitability. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Re: Why are people afraid to invest in cryptocurrency?
by
Doctor4You
on 01/07/2018, 21:26:00 UTC
Obviously, there are numerous reasons why people are afraid to invest in cryptocurrency, with one of those reasons being the fact that cryptos are intangible assets, i.e. the ones they cannot physically touch or see.
