Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs

I do not believe any human will or would be able to contact all places trading XEM before said coins are moving? (if true what I'm reading here - that there are stolen funds)

There aren't many XEM exchanges. All of them will have contacts with the NEM foundation. They would've needed to be to create their back end stuff. A few messages will lock the hacker out of all exchanges.

Oh I see. Then again, if true, that is a dangerous level of centralization.

Thinking about this some more... this really is a huge issue. XEM MUST be traded on many more exchanges

hope this news will not affect the value of xem on the market.

Unfortunately it seems the value decrease has already been beginning

Totally shocking for hodlers, yet good for those who will buy XEM for cheap

krishnaverma, thanks for letting me know. No need to quote my entire post.

However my post is far more elaborated than the one linked (imo). So what's your opinion on this matter?

TLDR: Japanese exchange hacked, half a billion dollar worth of funds seem to be stolen

Update Jan. 26, 2:00 pm UTC: NEM Foundation president Lon Wong has appeared to confirm Coincheck was hacked, calling the stolen funds "the biggest theft in the history of the world."

Update Jan. 26, 3:00 pm UTC: Coincheck has reported the likely inappropriate transfer of $532 mln worth of XEM to the Financial Services Authority and the Police, according to Nikkei.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/japan-coincheck-exchange-freezes-all-withdrawals-as-up-to-723-mln-leaves-its-wallet

 Shocked

Truly sad news for all Nembers today.

Hacker accounts will be blacklisted by exchanges, his XEM will be useless.

Just got to understand this new system and I like it, new winds blowing on Bitcointalk. Thanks to theymos for trying out new innovative things. But I see one issue and perhaps you can tell me where or why my thinking is wrong.

With copycat scamcoins like DeepOnion that have a relatively large "community presence" on Bitcointalk, a lot of merit points arrive at those very people's accounts who're widely considered scammers or not trustworthy. Simply because those communities are designed to shill the creators and high ranking accounts of the respective scams. If there were some sort of demerit points, the very same user's merit would likely even be negative, rather than high on merit points. Often times, the merit would probably become as negative or similarly negative as the already existing trust ratings. Now, though, you may even see users -16 trust rated, yet with a lot of merit.

I think there is a need for demerit points because of this reason. I see theymos said he can implement this easily later on.
There is currently no such thing as a "demerit". I'm hoping that the positive merits alone will be fine. I could add demerits pretty easily later on if necessary, though

Now I don't want more fights on Bitcointalk and of course demerit points can cause issues in the same way, for instance rivaling communities demeriting each other. So this would be a similar issue as well, perhaps even worse. I really don't know what's the solution. Do you have any innovative ideas?

Thanks for reading

And do not tell me that Oracles are a disruptive new feature please... come on, do not be naive... that was just hype for the ICO and this is a fucking ridiculous point compared with Tezos or Cardano roadmap. Or check Tauchain, and will know what is really disruptive and not just a cheap copycat like Aeternity.

lol

your post in itself is ridiculous but you know what made it outrageously stupid?

Elorpar says: "not just a cheap copycat like Aeternity"
while Elorpar wears a DeepOnion signature.

all those who have doubts and want to get rid of the coins or those who do not want to verify their identity on exchanges. I will buy all your coins for $5,55

I’ll do it for $7,77.

Way better number.  And I’m rich.  And generous.

I up the game. I will buy anyone's BTX for $17,77 a piece.  Up to 1000 coins.

Re: Should I sell my airdropped tokens quickly or hold on to them?
by
DogeMajestic
on 19/11/2017, 13:34:58 UTC
Hello,
Yesterday I saw some increase in my total estimated token value, and today it dropped significantly.
It appears that a lot of people are selling their airdropped tokens as soon as they get them.
I have not sold a single token from airdrops, and with the exception of some them, they seem to be mostly losing value in time.
Should I do the same or hodl hoping that some of them may increase in value, closing the gap I lose in the process?

If the tokens you're talking about are not shittokens, hold them for sure.

People started to dump their Bitcoin Cash coins because people are ranging mad due to Bitcoin Cash hard pump while Bitcoin price dropped, I wonder why people do reacted.

This is absolutely wrong. People dumped and dump Bitcoin Cash because it's just another altcoin.

Bitcoin Cash will eventually pumped for a reason but people were so offended after the event for some unverified reasons.

What is this even supposed to mean?

By the way i don't care.
Crypto is dead so it's too little too late as far as i am concerned.
Crypto supporters are long gone and no more are coming.
The kind of sleazy little assholes that would support any ICO are not the kind of people who care about crypto in the slightest.
They care about profits ..and that is it.
Nothing elese at all what so ever.

What are the communities where the good people have gone to? Because things may change but the people unfortunately always have the same roles

P.S. I don't like the idea of BCH

Maybe. For all I know, It's only getting started. When everyone can print money, then everyone tries to print money scenario?

Hopefully this won't backfire when some folks make a false connection in their minds, like when Bitcoin Cash goes to bottom prices, some may think the real Bitcoin is to blame.

It's important for Bitcoin supporters to point out that those coins are just feeding off the Bitcoin brand and have little to do with the real Bitcoin
