The thing about investing in such volatile market is that, you have to be cautious and aware that market DOES go up and down. You have to stick with your believes, my best suggestions to you is that. split up the profile to make the bets SAFE and reduces risk.

Bitcoin is supported by the trust of holders, just like gold or fiat money. Gold and money would not worth anything if it was not given trust. Same thing with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.

Re: NitrogenSports.eu (Cheating issue) **Ongoing**

I felt like my posts where getting a little to spammy in the Nitrogen thread and want to contain them for those that take a interest in what is going on and who has been caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

So I am compiling a list that I am attempting to make to show how inept the supposed poker team is at Nitrogensports in busting the most obvious of cheats.
The people mentioned here are players that create account(s) to take adavantage of the 50,100 and 1k hand promo.
It allows them entry into these freerolls. Now I am going to bypass the fact that there is clear multi accounting and stick to those that swap hands back and forth to get to the hands needed.

Here is the list:

Re: Best exchange to buy XRP (Ripple)?
by
Dogeboi3210
on 05/05/2017, 11:03:17 UTC
Which is the best and most reliable exchange to trade BTC for XRP (Ripple)?

There are 4 English exchanges listed for buying Ripple:

http://www.xrpga.org/exchangers.html

https://xrptrader.com : English : XRP, BTC
https://justcoin.com : English, Spanish, Norwegian : XRP, BTC, LTC, NOK
https://technocashier.com/ : English, Russian : XRP, WMZ, EUR, RUB, BTC
http://www.ripplewise.com/ : English : XRP, BTC, USD

But xrptrader.com is offline which worries me.  Is there a particularly reliable one in the bunch?
1. Buy bitcoin
2. Buy Ripple/BTC with Poloniex

That's probably the safest and cheapest way to do it at the moment

You get as much as they give you for staking coins, but there aren't any good POS investments yet. POS might go to ETH in a few years tho.

Re: Newb question about Poloniex Loan
by

You can find that in there site .
(Initial Margin: The percentage your Net Value is of the total value you can borrow. For example, if you want to borrow 3 BTC and your Initial Margin is 40%, you need to have at least 40% of 3 BTC — or 1.2 BTC — worth of funds in your margin account, less unrealized losses and lending fees. )
You just need to read more . Also i do not recommend you to margin trading without fully understand and read every thing about it . you will prob lose all your money if you not have good knowledge .

I think he's talking about loaning BTC to get interest on it, instead of margin trading right?

leigh2k14,

Did you use the same email and password for any mining pool or other sites?

No, I haven't mined for quite some time.

It's unique to bittrex.
Yeah, passwords leaks are everywhere on the internet now. If you don't have 2FA to secure your coins, you deserve to get hacked.

Re: PSA: **WARNING** ACTIVE PHISHING CAMPAIGN AGAINST BitcoinTalk and BTC-e USERS
by
Dogeboi3210
on 03/05/2017, 21:04:07 UTC
Some asshole initiated a phishing campaign against the users of BTC-e and BitcoinTalk.
They are exploiting the leaked DBs from the major hacks in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

The ones I detected are:
1) Targeting BTC-E users: spoofed emails from LocalBitcoins
2) Targeting BTC-E users: spoofed emails from Blockchain.info
3) Targeting BitcoinTalk users: fake emails from Btc-e with some attached payload.
4) +Several failed login attempts.

The last thing I heard was that the BitcoinTalk DB was being offered for sale in 2016.
Considering this "explosive" sudden campaign my speculation is that either some asshole bought it or it was finally released to the public.

Users of BTC-e and BitcoinTalk who used the same emails to register to all these sites should take extra precaution.
I highly suggest to change not only the passwords of every service (if you haven't already... come on, it's been more than 3 years) AND ALSO change your email addresses.
I've definitely gotten some sketch emails related to BTC-E. People need to be careful around these emails, because one mistake and your BTC is gone.

Re: Bitcoin and deflation
by
Dogeboi3210
on 03/05/2017, 09:15:41 UTC
I was thinking about how great bitcoin is vs combatting inflation but what about deflation?

Say bitcoin gets lost or if there was a malicious intent of destroying / hoarding bitcoin, are there any mechanics within bitcoin that address this?

Am curious but this is one of the largest problems i could think of if btc were ever widely adapted

I think the intention was to make it deflationary. This way it keeps gaining value over time while fiat loses value.
It seems to me that such terms for Bitcoin are irrelevant because only Fiat can be subjected to inflation or deflation. Bitcoin is a self-sufficient currency, which in itself regulates its value depending on the demand.

Deflationary is not necessarily a "good" thing, because economies are supposed to grow anyways. I wonder if they can match inflation rate algorithmic-ly with growth rate GDP.

Re: What do you like best about bitcoin?
by

I liked from this bitcoin can change lives who have the economic shortcomings such as no money becomes money because of this and this forum does not harm anyone though suck my time but I still enjoy to this forum and therefore I love this forum

I like this thing also with bitcoin, this is just one of many things that I like the best about bitcoin. We can see that many are being helped by bitcoin.

Especially those people that doesn't have enough money for surviving their daily lives. But for me, the best thing about this is it is not controlled by the government.

I don't want my earnings to be taxed and will be corrupted by corrupt officials.

Knowing that bitcoin have lower fees ,no taxes and no corrupt officials or government that is owning or manipulating its a very big plus. It's also easy to use and can adapt by anyone easily ,we can also do business on it and can make us richer not just in money but in learning on how to control and manipulate our money tru investment and trading. Anything about bitcoin were all satisfying minus the delays sometimes.
Well we need to decrease fees. But the decentralization decreases corruption for sure! It's hard to manipulate something so widespread in terms of power distribution.

Beginning 18th April, all incoming wires to Bitfinex will be blocked and refused by their Taiwan banks. This applies to all fiat currencies at the present time.

That means Bitfinex doesn't have bank accounts anymore. It seams their accounts are closed.

What's next? Take your money/funds out from Bitfinex as soon as possible. Smiley

Re: Do small investments make sense?
by
Dogeboi3210
on 02/05/2017, 23:10:34 UTC
When we think about investments we imagine investors with big sums of money, so for btc casino it would be 1 or more btc, for instance. However, the minimum amount you can invest is usually 0.01btc which is only 10$. Do you think such investments are profitable but you earn small sums or maybe they don't make sense at all? Can someone explain it to me?
I mean if you intend to hold it for the long term it's not so bad. But the transfer itself may be more expensive than the profits you make there!

Re: 10 main mistakes of Bitcoin newbies
by
Dogeboi3210
on 02/05/2017, 07:15:55 UTC
I think the most common mistakes made by newbies is they easily get attracted towards gambling to multiply their bitcoins in quick time but end up loosing everything and apart from that they also invest in online sites without doing any research.
Sadly, even those who have been into bitcoin for a while are still lured into such scams from time to time. The promise of high yield in such a short period of time just seems to be good an opportunity to pass up, although they always regret investing in the end. Some of these investments are legit in the beginning but turn out to be scams because the high rate of return on investment is definitely unsustainable and can't continue until new members with incoming funds are signed up.
Yeah, plus there's no point getting into those when Bitcoin itself is the primary investment to watch anyways.
