Thanks for all these updates you've been making on the thread. Much Appreciated.

I feel like at the time I got most of my altcoins out and I do see a BTC withdrawal the day before I think they were taken offline, but I don't know if it was all of my BTC or if I maybe had more. Have they been able to verify balances by date and time of withdrawals or anything? Maybe I'd have to find whatever old wallet I may have withdrawn to and find the tx hash? Pretty sure Mintpal was dumb and didn't include the hash or addresses in email withdrawal confirmations.

I almost had a dev lined up a while back, but he got busy with other projects.  I'd love for someone to pick this up again and continue the whole jackpot thing. Was pretty cool back when i had 20 gpus mining it. Never hit the jackpot though :-/

x-post from slack

@everyone It's the last few hours to get your coins to where you want them to be.

A note from Cryptopia (no editing from us):

1. Cryptopia will pause the SPR market about 30min before the snapshot block arrives.
2. After the snapshot block arrives, we will credit the users with their helium balances
3. after the snapshot process is complete and it's safe for users to sell their SPR, we will resume trading on the SPR market

Please see #snapshot thread for some questions that have been asked before. Please do not post in that thread so people can find information quickly.

Wow, thanks you crappy miners. This came almost a full day early then?

Woke up 30min too late to deposit to cryptopia and people dumped the price.  Lose-Lose for me on this until we hear something from Bittrex i guess.

Not a day early, an hour early, you have your time zones screwed up.

The date was oct 10th up until the crosspost from slack earlier. Guess I quoted the wrong one, but still. I was going to transfer or dump half 12hrs before the 10th.

The Spreadcoin wallet is pretty unstable. That's why I'm not keeping my SPR on there until they say we need to. It is safer on an excahange. My wallet went on a fork the first time I DL it. The dev said delete every file and reinstall was the only option. Since I hadn't backed it up yet, I would have lost all my SPR if I had already sent it.

So try to avoid using the SPR wallet.

I've never had a problem with it and have used it since launch with as much as 20 gpus mining to it and as little as 0. Anything can fork, but odds are you were mining to it when it wasn't in sync with the rest of the network or something was blockin/slowing the connection.

Anyways, wallet is fine, but I would recommend downloading the chain snapshot from the spread thread as it's an older coin with lots of history. Might have to go back a few pages in thread to find it though.

No complaints here if Graham thinks he can move it in a good direction.  I wanted to put in the effort into reviving it until someone scammed us into voting fakeBEE onto an exchange. Been too busy to deal with that since.

Best of luck graham. PM if you need any particular help with other aspects.

i am feeling really stupid because i only see .dll files in the directory and no .conf file

can i backup my wallet ad reinstall spreadcoin-qt?

That won't help as the wallet will still struggle to connect to the network.

If you are using Windows, your conf will be in C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Spreadcoin

@georgem  Have you checked your seed nodes recently?  A  few people have noticed problems connecting to the network in recent months.  Anecdotally, it seems to be getting worse.

I haven't ever had a problem with it not connecting and i've had it up for probably 3 years at this point.

The last few weeks have been nuts for bitcoin and has kept me pretty busy, but I did attempt to deal with c-cex and at this point I'm pretty certain they're in the business of listing their own 100% premined coins and mixing them in with the legit coins.  (would be nice if anyone had more detailed info on c-cex or knew someone legit who's affiliated with it)

I didn't want to deposit btc there just so I could use the chat and warn people(I'd probly be banned anyways).  The damage appears to be done already for the BEE ticker and I'll probably see about creating a site and/or twitter account to be a thorn in their side and warn people about the non-coins there if there's still no response. Currently I'm not sure what else I can do for BEE. It would probly have to be a coin and name swap because of that idiot, unless we out them for the scam they are soon.

We will not be changing our beecoin name unless the community wants to do so.

If c-cex are listing this 100% premined junk I will be outing them as 100% scam exchange and warning people to avoid them at all costs.

Does anyone have the user handle on here for the c-cex owner?

Also beecoin may not be as dead as some may believe.

The scamcoin obviously knows they're scamming since they listed cryptopia on their site which has only had the correct BEE listed from the start. They've since removed the link to c-cex as well. Definitely shady practices.

So which coins are competing against blocknet??

Ark, EOS, Ethereum, Stratis, Neo, Bitshare, Stock.Exchange, ..

I don't understand it.

Not really any of them. Blocknet will connect them all, not directly compete with them.

bb didn't distributed yet?

Same question...what's up with no Blackbytes being distributed yet?
Blackbytes always take a long time to distribute.  No idea why.

It doesn't matter though.  The blackbytes aren't worth a lot anyway.
Can i still claim some tokens? or is the distribution completed already?
It's too late.  You should claim at the next distribution, which will be on the 7th of August.  It happens every full moon, because the dev is a werewolf.

Well they better not still need my btc in that address cause i moved them already  Sad

Some of these problems seem to be basic mining configuration problems which google will quickly solve for any new miners that are lost.

...my problem right now is 1 of my trusty 750ti's died right as the hashrate skyrocketed, so now I'm sadly down to only 5 cards.  If only I had not sold off my other 14 cards back in 2015 when it seemed coins were dying everywhere Sad  (lost 1 gpu in 3.5yrs, so not bad overall.)

no block since 12 hours ago on 5 x GTX 1080Ti ... why???

...because the network hashrate was over 9GH in that pic. More people mining = harder to find blocks = less blocks found.

(also make sure you have your miner config set up and mining properly)

true 0/

just a thought of mine - if blocknet is a Blockchain to Blockchain trading platform - how does the transaction time work?

say for example i want to exchange BTC for LTC. Blocktimes/Confirmation times are different so im locked until ive got my coins? (to trade further) also who does pay the transaction fee for the trade? (BTC and LTC)

i mean if i want to buy a coin because i believe in it longtherm its a great solution because i dont have to trust a central authority but if i just want to daytrade or scalp the markets im way better with polo/bittrex/whatever?

thanks!

synechist from the dev team answers this in the Reddit Blocknet AMA, here's the piece discussing your question - https://www.reddit.com/r/theblocknet/comments/676buj/ask_anything_about_blocknet_qa/#bottom-comments

Quote
Several people have asked what the speed of the decentralised exchange is, and how it will be affected by heavy volume, so I'll put that down here as a question.

[–]synechist 2 points 1 month ago
The capacity of the Blocknet's decentralised exchange increases with its user base. Since order broadcast and order matching are completely decentralised, there are no bottlenecks other than the ones which lie with users, namely their local internet connections.
In addition though, there is a shared capacity in the broadcasting system, which is really sky-high. Here is a relevant quotation from a Bitcoin wiki (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Scalability#Scalability_targets):
Quote
Network Let's assume an average rate of 2000tps, so just VISA. Transactions vary in size from about 0.2 kilobytes to over 1 kilobyte, but it's averaging half a kilobyte today. That means that you need to keep up with around 8 megabits/second of transaction data (2000tps * 512 bytes) / 1024 bytes in a kilobyte / 1024 kilobytes in a megabyte = 0.97 megabytes per second * 8 = 7.8 megabits/second. This sort of bandwidth is already common for even residential connections today, and is certainly at the low end of what colocation providers would expect to provide you with. When blocks are solved, the current protocol will send the transactions again, even if a peer has already seen it at broadcast time. Fixing this to make blocks just list of hashes would resolve the issue and make the bandwidth needed for block broadcast negligable. So whilst this optimization isn't fully implemented today, we do not consider block transmission bandwidth here.
Finally, there is an inherent limitation in the blockchains traders choose to use which affects the time between trading coins and re-trading them, which is the blockchain's confirmation time. Thus, if a trader wishes to trade Bitcoin at a "trustless" (well, widely regarded as non-risky) level of security, (s)he should wait an hour before re-trading an address. However, I have proposed a solution to this, in the form of a "0-conf slider" in the UI, which functions to filter orders according to the number of confirnations that the user is willing to wait for. Thus, at a small increase of risk, scalping and other fast trading strategies may be employed.
I think that suitably addresses concerns. The Blocknet is fast.

Hope this helps!

thank you!

what exaclty is the risk? is there a more technical explanation? also - when im trading with coins i dont have a confirmation to spend on, how does blocknet or my bitcoin/litecoin wallet block the coins not to be spend elsewhere? as i understand i will need the full blockchains to do transactions. so i guess the blocknet client is executing transactions via my btc/ltc client?

I believe that's why they need oplockverify option enabled. It acts as a kind of escrow in this case and will make sure the coins sent and received are valid and will be confirmed properly, etc.

Nice. Looks like Nova has it in maintenance right now. I'd love to trade at Cryptopia, but they don't have a BTC market and I'm not interested in trading ltc or doge at the moment.

if i buy spread coins, will they automatically be swapped into helium coin in august ? or what is the deal ? i don't get it...

You'll have to ask in the helium thread. Not sure if they even have all the details yet, but we definitely don't.
