Re: Hive OS - new Linux GPU mining platform

Nice to see bminer has been added although I have an issue getting it running.

Wallet is filled out correctly but when switching from dstm to bminer it says the miner is 'unknown'.

Known bug or issue on my end?

Anyone?

Is there a changelog / info sheet for the AMD OS? Been running NV and now looking to add AMD rigs. Want to make sure Adrenalin driver is loaded into AMD ver.

Can't post more than 1 PM in an hour. :/

Address as per initial PM, ZEC, just logged in to confirm.

Can't register with other pools, states email address already in use. If I use the current password it states username / pw invalid and need to do a pw reset on that pool to login. (At the same time cancelling the previous pool login)

Can't find info on the net so thought i'd ask here.

Trying to register with multiple SN pools but after registering with one, trying to do another results in email address already in use. Obviously password for the 1st doesn't work on the next pool i'm trying to login to. What's the workaround for this?

Thanks Phil.

Decided to keep the cards. Added 4 to the daily rig and all 4 ticking over nicely on those oc settings. Quiet as a mouse.

Rig wise I've ordered a pair of p2 1200w and emailed evga for additional 6+2/6 cables. Issues solved. The I'd for the help/advice.

Yeah, no issue. Did consider the stock zotac but its a blower which I assumed wouldn't be the best for cooling and noise.

What's the rule of thumb for powering the Risers? Is sata a no go?

Might just split the lot into two 6 gpu rigs...

Ditch asrock h110 for x2 ga-z270p-d3
Evga 1600w on each.
Vga 1-6 with 6+2/6 to each gpu using included gpu 6 to 8 pin adaptors.
Vga 7-9 powering x6 risers using 8pin to dual 6 pin adapters.

PSU setup for 6+ gpu rig

Looking for advice on psu setup.

Currently have 9 1070ti which use 2x8pin.

Originally was going to use an asrock h110.

Got a 2kw superflower psu in the daily which i had intended to use in the following config:

Psu has x9 8 pin plus cpu 8 pin. (Similar to evga 1600w)

6+2/6 to each gpu. Each /6 with the dual 6 to 8 pin included with the gpu.

All risers powered with sata. Risers are 6 pin with sata adapter.

Have been advised powering the risers with the included 6 pin to sata connectors is a big no no

Struggling to decide on best setup for powering the rig.

Splitting into two 6/6 rigs also an option.

Gpus are zotac amp.

If the inteded setup is not advised, what's the most cost efficient setup....

Thought about mining a long time ago and put it to the back of my mind. Obviously with the recent hack it's made me look into it again.

Rig already has a pair of W/C 1080Ti's and adding another pair (including W/C) is no issue.

ZED has caught my eye and after calculating power draw/cost/hashrate it seems to be a smart choice.

Total noob so need to setup a wallet and find a platform to use to mine.

Wallet - Coinpayments looks good on the face of it. Small tax for changing coin/currency as as nvidia seems to be small coin mining i'll need to trade.

Mining platform - nicehash sounded ideal but obviously a spanner in the works now. If possible i'd like to dedicate a pair of gpu to ZED and the other pair to whatever is the most profitable at the time.

Probably been asked a million times before but after having tolled through various threads a lot goes over my head and am only asking for a point in the right direction for software to use.

Currently running 8700k/32GB, cpu mining doesn't really interest me unless profit is higher to cover depreciation in chip, i.e 7980xe. Intel chips plummet like a lead balloon. Setting up a threadripper rig also no problem, or even a low spec intel chip/mobo to slightly reduce running cost.

I'm all ears, show me the way... Smiley
