Low rewards for staking ADA?
by
Dr.Ona

Hello Gang,
Newbie questions.. sorry if my language is not perfect.
If "someone" has 21,500 ADA coins being staked, what would be a normal amount of weekly returns?
After waiting 5 weeks, it seems as though the rewards are rather low.
A total of 53.4 ADA coins for the rewards thus far.. 5 weeks since first inception of staking.
This is staking through the Kiwipool.

Would this be the normal returns?
I've used the supplied Cardano calculator through the Cardano website, and it looks like 84 coins should be the reward per month.
Perhaps it is too soon to tell?

Suggestion and feedback would be appreciated.

Ciao!

Hello Gang,
Sorry to ask this question here, but I'm hoping someone can answer a Cardano staking question.

I'm new to the language of crypto so please be patient with the lingo.
I have a decent amount of Cardano being staked right now.
I started this staking 29 days ago..
From what I read, this first 20 days or so, you don't get anything because it takes awhile for stuff to start happening.
But I thought that once the rewards started, that you would receive them every week.
So far, I've only received one weekly reward in 29 days.
I'm going through the Yoroi wallet.
The staking pool is only 84% full.

Is there something I'm missing here?
Can someone please point me in the right direction for figuring the ADA staking concept?
It's like trying to learn a new language from the internet.. confusing at times.

Thanks for any help!

Transferring from wallet to vault on Coinbase..

Hello,
Coinbase help is one of the worst ever... so I have a question I'm hoping members here will have an answer.

I currently have a Coinbase account and only use the wallet feature.
If I set up the Vault feature, is there a fee for moving my small amount of BTC from my wallet to my vault?
Example..
I transfer $100 for BTC from Coinbase wallet to Coinbase vault.
Is there a fee for that?

Thanks for the info... couldn't find that info anywhere and I'm sure there are members here that know.

One last question..
Since I don't have my new Model T yet, I was watching some YT videos. I bought the Model T so I can see/access my Cardano on it.
Do I need to go through a 3rd party website to actually do that?
Daedalus, Yoroi, and Adalite?

Trezor Suite is not supporting cardano so you will have to connect your device with AdaLite or Yoroi wallets, (Daedalus is not supported) and I think that same support is for ledger wallet also.
You don't need to use any 3rd party websites, just download wallets and connect them with your Trezor hardware wallet.

Thank you again!
Bummer why these companies can't get it all compatible..
Trezor One doesn't support ADA
Model T supports ADA, but Trezor Suite doesn't.
Gotta get another site just to see my ADA..
DUMB!

When I get my new Trezor Model T, I might be asking a few more questions.
1. What important things is Trezor T generated 12 mnemonic seed only, which is different from Trezor one generate 24 seed.
2. You can directly enter the passphrase in Trezor one device with a touchscreen.
https://wiki.trezor.io/Recovery_seed

Thank you for this info.. so the Trezor Model T is a 12 word seed.. but looking at that link you provided, it can be a 24 word.

oeleo gave your correct info.  BUT:

** This info below has been mentioned well above in this thread but the OP still seems to be asking questions making me think he has missed this point:

I wanted to add something just as a precaution for you, not knowing how you have handled the 24 word SEED from your Trezor ONE.  The key to secure SEED is that it is never entered on any computer that is/has been online.  In other words "assume" the computer you connect any Trezor to is infected (its a safe way to paradigm).  When you setup the Trezor 1 you would have written the SEED down on a piece of paper and NOT placed on a computer (hopefully).  During setup the T1 would cycle through the SEED words on the device screen and you would write them down.  Good if that is how you did it!  Now over time IF you ever restored that Trezor ONE, meaning you had to enter the SEED on the device again, it would ONLY have been possible using a screen on your computer/Android.  That could be VERY bad if the computer used is an online machine either currently or in the past.  Your new Trezor T can be easily restored by entering the SEED words ONLY on the device screen itself leaving the computer out of the process, which protects the security of the SEED (it NEVER sees a computer during the process).  This is especially easy using trezorctl, in fact SIMPLE.

I typed the above to say that IF you ever exposed your SEED to a computer that is NOT AirGap, installed using offline Tails, or a similar RAM based method it might be wise to consider a NEW SEED setup.  Creating new SEED on a Trezor T is fast and secure.  Of course this means you would have to transfer the coins from the old wallet to the new one.  If you are using bc1 address format its not that costly to be sure your SEED has never been seen on any computer.  Easy for me to say/type because I have been at this for 10 years now, LOL!

Thank you Coin Keeper!
When I originally set up my Trezor One, I had my laptop offline. I wrote down the seeds on a sheet of paper that was provided, so my seeds have never been on my computer or online. I did do it the way you have mentioned.. so that is good news!

Now if I understand this correctly, If I can use the same 24 word seeds on my new Model T, then there won't be a fee for moving my coins over from the old Model One to the new Model T?
If that is correct, then I just need to follow the instructions when I get my new Model T and transfer my current 24 word seeds to it.

If I can't safely figure that out, then my new Model T has a 12 word seed. If I just go with that, then there would be a fee for transferring from my old Model One to the new Model T?

Sorry again for having to keep figuring this out.. I'm just nervous about all this and afraid of losing coins somehow.
I can't find any videos on YouTube that show how to do what I'm talking about.

Trezor T creates 12 word seed phrases by default, while the Trezor One creates 24 word seed phrases by default. However, by using the command line interface you can generate a 12 or 24 word seed phrase (or a 18 word seed phrase) with either device. You can also restore seed phrases of 12, 18, or 24 words to both devices, so your plan of restoring your 24 word seed phrase from your Trezor One to your new Trezor T is entirely possible.

Thank you for this info!
I'm sure it's easier than I think it is.. I'm just afraid of doing something wrong and losing my coins ( I know I know.. their not on the wallet, hahaha )

Thank you all!
So as long as your wallet is a Bit39, you can use your 24 seed word to get your coins off of the blockchain.
I "think" I'm starting to get it... slowly like a caveman, hahahaha

When I get my new Trezor Model T, I might be asking a few more questions.

Thanks!

WTF?
I posted a topic here this morning about Trezor One and transferring to a Trezor Model T.
I know of at least 8 members here were kind enough to reply with some great advice.
Now that post has been removed?
Why?
All that advice is gone?
