Re: Coince - Too good to be true ?

It's called a long con.

Inputs.io did this too. Everyone hopes to be an early investor in a ponzi scheme. Early contributors DO get paid and they help establish the reputation for paying out, enticing others to join in.

Then the management closes shop and takes all your coins.

If it sounds to good to be true, it's too good to be true.

Yes, but only if you had CD's. They have limited jurisdiction unless securities are involved. They also share info with other LE folks.

I spoke with a senior investigator from the SEC yesterday and they will have jurisdiction because CD's may be considered securities and hence fall under their jurisdiction.

TF may have screwed me out of some coins, but he will pay big time for his arrogance and hubris. I hope he enjoys jail.

His identity is now known. He can run, but he cant hide.

I've tried reaching TF many times and get NO reply whatsoever. I'm willing to take legal action, even if it costs me and I get nothing back in return.

Re: Bitcoin Foundation meeting with regulators

I just saw this story about the Bitcoin Foundation setting up a meeting with regulators on Monday:

http://www.coindesk.com/federal-agency-representatives-meeting-to-discuss-bitcoin/

These meetings suddenly pop up without warning.  The Bitcoin Foundation and the committees they form seem to operate in shadows.  I wonder what their agenda is?
If you were a member of the BF, you would have more input to the discussion board. It's not opaque at all.

We, the bitcoin users,  don't need the bitcoin foundation to represent us. We have no faces. If any user, US government included, has any problem using Bitcoin, we can help him in the bitcointalk forum. But nearly all the questions a government could have about Bitcoin are very well explained in satoshi's paper and the source code. The only words the foundation had to say in that meeting: read the paper and the code as all of we did, it's all explained there.
Not really. Most politicians have the IQ of a 5 year old. They need it explained to them by folks who understand Bitcoin and can explain it simply.

Wave of Selling --- Wave of buying
by

Most of the time, there is a gentle give and take around a relative mean value.

Then there are time where there are waves of selling, more selling, selling on top of selling, driving the market down. Perhaps bot traders readjust positions automatically since it seems that the action is too fast for human traders to okay a substantial role other than panic sell.

Alternately there are waves of buying, where market sentiment turns around and buyer-bots find a price point irresistible. Then the wave gaps up, scooping cheaply priced coins.

bitcoins are a unique item, where the costs to mine are well known and defined. They are desirable for speculative reasons only since utility is marginable right now. And with a relatively thin market, a few million here or there can move it sharply.

We are seeing this now, and we will see it again.

Long live the free market along with its manipulators!

One of my friends is a trader. Personally I don't have the stomach for it.

I just keep buying. (Unfortunately, I never seem to know when to sell.)

But still, at the end of the day, I have a bigger pile and I am not stressed.

Once Bitcoin reaches critical mass, the price will become much more stable.  Until then it's a roller coaster.
and what defines critical mass?
"When the price becomes more stable"?

I generated the addressed offline, printed them up as certificates, had them laminated. then send btc to the funding address. Now they rest securely offline with a copy in a second location to protect against destruction by fire.

Fear is a big part of both as well.  Making people scared so that they will follow the dictates of the govt/religion.

The graph like pattern can be considered a fractal. And so on any given day or moment, we can find the exact same pattern. The last 12 hours looks like this!

So, as the time horizon extends, and the graph gets larger, we shall see the same pattern on an extended scale. say 2660 to 550 stabilizing at 1150, only to move to 22600, etc.

But the patter remains the same, just the scale differs.
