Still no coins. Still have hope they show up as he has been getting positive feedback from other users but it is fading fast.

Board Scam Accusations

I did not expect it to arrive in a week.

I expected it to arrive on the day he told me it would arrive, which is now 48 hours in the past. I waited 24 hours after the day he told me it would arrive to put this up and even then only after two other complaints about him were made public. One of those accusations he paid off to resolve.

I expected a tracking number or some way to verify there really was a package and that there really was a delay to the original date he gave me. By not providing a tracking number like we agreed, dominicwin has already not held up his side of the deal.

For someone who has, up until I receive the package, graciously donated over $4k to dominicwin, I feel I have been quite patient.

I can prove I sent him the BTC; the burden to prove he isn't a scammer now lies with him.

Like I said, I hope it shows up and if it does I will happily remove this accusation.

You should leave him negative trust so it is obvious to other users that he's been shady. He refunded another user who had a similar problem as you when they left negative trust. Of course, if he is a scammer he won't offer a refund because his jig is up and he has no more use for a positive trust rating.

Well just glad from day one people weren't crazy about tracking numbers.

I wish I'd have been "crazy" about escrow from day one.

I'll gladly remove this and my negative trust rating if they arrive. Until they do, other users should be wary.

You could have avoided this by shipping them with tracking like you said you would. How about a receipt for the shipping that shows my address? Some form of proof that you actually shipped them would go a long way towards straightening this out. Until then, Goat had the right read on you.

What happened:

dominicwin was offering gold coins at a 10% discount for Black Friday. We agreed on a price, he said he would ship them with tracking and ship them the same day. I bought 4 and sent my btc the same day. He confirmed receipt of the btc and said he shipped the coins the next day. He said they would arrive Wednesday. When asked for a tracking number, he stopped replying to PMs. Later he said he shipped it without tracking but they should arrive on Wednesday. Today is Thursday and they still have not arrived. He claims they are hung up in customs and that other people have received their coins. Unfortunately without a tracking number there is no way to verify that they were ever sent. No coins, no tracking number, I got scammed. Such is life.

Care to give me a tracking number so I can verify there is indeed a shipment? You said there would be one but you still haven't been able to give it to me. I'll believe the story about customs if you get me a tracking number. Otherwise it seems like a nice piece of fiction.

There isn't as its being shipped outside the country and not one of a higher end services. Of course I do regret not paying the extra money. But so far so good with deliveries making it everywhere they need to be.

Then you shouldn't have told me you would have a tracking number. If there isn't a package for me at home when I get there I really have no choice but to hop on the scammer bandwagon.

I really do hate it when Goat is right.

I'm currently waiting a shipment from Dominicwin myself. He said it should arrive yesterday, it didn't and he has yet to provide me a tracking number for the shipment. I haven't left feedback yet because he was stating that the orders were taking longer in customs than he expected but until he can produce a tracking number I am suspicious.

I'm happy to amend this post in the future if he can get me a tracking number so I can verify there really is a shipment on its way or if the item shows up in the next day or two but do be careful out there folks.

Yeah, but I don't have 9 more things to say to everyone, heh.

I guess this counts as one of them, but I am out of content now.

All well, transaction done, won't really matter until the next time I am looking to diversify some coins.

Thanks for the information everyone.

So, what I understand that to mean is I need to post every 6 minutes until I have posted enough that I can post more frequently in order to maintain a real-time conversation?

Old newbie question
by
DrQwe
on 29/11/2013, 22:25:22 UTC
Been away for a while, came back to catch up on how my old bitcoins are doing. I am trying to do a transaction for gold coins, but I can't PM the other user; the board is saying I have sent a PM in the last 360 seconds. I haven't sent any messages since this morning when I first asked about the gold coins.

I know previously there was a white list I had to ask to be moved from to remove some of these restrictions. I think that was undone for my account. Is there any way I can get my account set up so I don't have to wait 6 minutes to continue a conversation in PMs?

I was able to finally send the message, but am still curious about the restriction.

Thanks.

A suggestion for future bitcoin conventions
by
DrQwe

Could you make the hackathon free for established developers? Or maybe a discounted pass for it? I am concerned the bar for entry is too high and bitcoin is losing potential allies by pricing them out of the market.

I'm in the same hotel for another gathering (Nebula awards) and was pretty excited when I bumped into a fellow in the elevator who mentioned the bitcoin convention was going on in this building. I wanted to go check it out and see what was happening in the world of bitcoins with actual people instead of just online and maybe give me a reason to pull mine out of cold storage and re-engage with the community. My wife was also chatted up and invited over to the conference when it was clear she's learned enough from my ramblings to know what she is talking about with them. This morning I went over and checked out the programming and was even more excited about the hackathon. I'm a developer by trade who specializes in mobile payment systems with millions of retail dollars flowing through code I have written on the iPhone everyday. I am also an entrepreneur at heart and really do enjoy hackathons. I was also excited to see the trade show area but when I asked about abbreviated tickets, was told there was no way I could participate without paying the $350 entrance fee for a singe day. This is unfortnate for me because I only have a few hours before I have to go put on a tux and participate in a monkey show. It isn't going to be worth $350 to me to check out the companies here and/or try and find a project I'd be wiling to put some programming time into.

I'm a little disappointed that I can't participate at a level lower than $350 for a few hours and wonder how many other people in this tech heavy city are giving this con a pass because the entry bar is too high for an afternoon. I still have a couple hours to kill, so I think I'll go spend $20 and cruise the comic book convention (don't judge me, I am nerd through and through). It'll probably be a lot less interesting but the costumes should be a whole lot better. I do hope to participate in one of these in the future and enjoyed watching the tv interview of the big instant dude out front.

Also, if anyone wants to rent out their badge for an hour, let me know a price. I'll be around until tomorrow morning.

Been a member for a long time, since before there were newbies. Logged plenty of hours reading posts. Didn't mind not being able to post because I don't have much to say but looking to start selling some stuff and would like to be able to post in there.

Thanks!
