https://lambowie.com (not open yet) will be probably the first real world use for Raptoreum. Each hand forged Damascus blade has a sub-asset issued for it which also contains IPFS files such as pictures, short video, and bill of sale. This makes each knife provable unique as well as provides a timestamp so the blade age is known. Once smart contracts are available the process will be mostly automated.

When more information will be available then can be said anything in favor or cons of this forked project. It is interesting why you decided to start a project from scratch instead of supporting the real one. More technical specifications in coming days/weeks will be helpful to reach somewhere. Till then I also have marked it as watch only project continuously.

The RVN won't do what we are doing, for a few reasons.

1.) It would require a hard fork
2.) It would cause congestion and scaling issues as they will not add MN to handle contracts and instead would be added to blocks Ethereum style.
3.) Requires a change to ProgPow which they have shown no interest in doing.

This is why Raptoreum is born it is the only way we see at this time to unlock the huge potential of the asset system when combined with contracts, and do it without causing scaling issues and congestion.

Hope that helps.

Just a quick summary of what Raptoreum is aiming to do and why it is exciting. There are some things I have left out that will be revealed a bit further into development. (can't give up all the awesome sauce this early)

Raptoreum brings together the strengths of Ravencoins assets and smart contracts, and in doing so solving a few issues and improving upon a few things.

1. Ravencoins assets are groundbreaking and unique in Crypto. Ease of use, dividends, voting, unique names, cannot be accidentally destroyed, immutable public ledger. But it is missing the ability for automated and programmable trustless transfers which closes the door on massive potential.

2. Ethereums smart contracts are flexible making it the go to for DAPP developers. But it suffers from scaling issues, can be complicated to use and there are bugs which can also lead to accidental destruction of of tokens. Example would be ERC20 which is known is bugged and has already cost millions and millions in losses. But yet developers continue to use it and Ethereum continues to promote its use. That same bug is apparent and active in other standards such as ERC777 for example.

Raptoreum moves smart contracts onto its masternode network which not only solves the  scaling issue that Ethereum faces but allows a greater range of languages to be used in programming. This is also what facilitates automated trustless trading of assets.

3. Moving to ProgPow in my opinion offers greater protection from ASICs then does X16R.

The Door Opens

On Raptoreum now assets are a viable option for DAPP developers and the possibilities are endless and extremely powerful which will help fuel adoption.

Simple Real World Example

Game items could be tokenized making them verifiable unique and immortalizing them at the same time, using IPFS metadata even a screen of the item can be included. Using smart contract that item can be traded or sold ingame based or whatever triggers are chosen when making the contract, the item and attached asset is transferred when trigger is met. This means also items could even be traded across games and platforms.

Rarity of the item can be determined and verified by the total supply of the attached asset... epic! Unlike a centralized game where you do not actually know how rare the item is, here it it can be proven and verified! This is just a small small sample.

as they dare to present a currency where there is no web, there is no explorer and to top it is still looking for half of the development team. From Exchange, nothing is known either.

Today most of Master does not end up in Exchange, they simply die after the youngster's attempt to take out the coin.

This is one of the saddest I have seen, nothing is known, what is it for, or future projects (a coin without a project, it is a dead coin)

In short luck those who dare to enter an unfinished coin with zero project. How much, the project is to make money the DEV

There is lots going on behind the scenes, and we are not youngsters... lol

Website and whitepaper are in the works, development on the chain itself is starting, and we are building out a solid community team. Quality takes time and we won't rush.

As per the OP the project is just starting, and given that it is a community driven project this ANN was started to give those interested the opportunity to be involved with it from the very start.

From you download this wallet even no info about the website and wallet on the OP. I'm extremely interested to know about this maybe dev gave this link directly to you to run it on your PC?

There is no wallet and will not be until testnet is ready.

What's wrong with a coin having masternodes?  I guess it's the implementation and delivery that matters.  There can't be a bunch of masternodes owned by the developer at the start or it looks unfair and the masternode reward early on has to be careful not to over-centralize assets to a few early adopters.  Masternodes are great as long as developers are responsible.

I would agree with that and actually just wrote a little article that touches on the subject.
https://www.reddit.com/r/raptoreum/comments/9vggo5/how_is_raptoreum_different_then_ravencoin_and_how/

Masternodes have a bad rap because they have been used to facilitate so many scams or they just were not well thought out.

Well, that is an interesting combination. Trustless asset trading would be a game changer.
