Re: Time to get back into mining?
by

Since all this while that mining altcoins have not been profitable like before i don't bother to keep mining coins so i just lock my mining rig in a room and now that bitcoin halving is knocking on the door i think its a good time to start mining even if its not profitable? i believe if bitcoin surge over 30k altcoins will take the ride we've been waiting for, anyways, what do you guys think? good idea or bad ?

It is a good idea to start mining bitcoin if you have a bitcoin mining hardware. there no reason to lock off your bitcoin miner in the room since the bitcoin price is halving. You can mine bitcoin and HODL it for long-term maybe the bitcoin price will recover to $20,000 sooner than we think or even $30,000 as you said it yourself. I believe bitcoin mining is worth doing if you have the right tools and hardware.

Re: Ethereum goes to the top!

I see price growth and ethereum charts getting better. Although it is difficult to reach $ 200. Well, this is a good opportunity to start buying ethereum. Is this a good idea for now? Let's discuss it. Thank you in advance.

Well, for me, I don't want to buy Ethereum at the current market price rather when the price reaches $300 and above.
When the Ethereum price reaches $300 I know the Ethereum bull market is around the corner so that is the time for me to buy Ethereum.

Re: Litecoin in 2019

What do you think are the prospects for Litecoin prices?
The coin is really convenient to use as a means of payment.

Today +12%

Litecoin is one of the best altcoins in the market but it appears the altcoins bear market has affected the Litecoin price. In the last year 2018, the Litecoin price reaches up to $350+ during the altcoins market bull run but it is currently down to only $55 what a bear season? Hopefully, the litecoin price will recover in the next market bull run.

if bitcoin retraces now soon what will happen to alts? will they fall with it or will they rise how will it play out?

That depends on the market. if bitcoin price is falling during a bear market, of course, the altcoins market will follow. But when there is an active bull run in the market, if bitcoin price falls the altcoins price will grow. Sometimes there is a market shift between bitcoins and altcoins more especially during a bull market.

Re: Bitcoin crush the altcoins?!

Bitcoin crush the altcoins definetly or the altcoins will bounce back like December 2017, January 2018?
What's your opinion?

The cryptocurrency market favors bitcoin this year because the bitcoin dominated more than 65% of the entire cryptocurrency market. Altcoins market is sharing less than 35% of the cryptocurrency market capitalization. The bitcoin is gaining all the market momentum right now maybe next year the altcoins market will respond with something new, positive. the altcoins will bounce back for sure.

Right now I am out of alts completely. Alts have bottomed out and I can't see any sign of recovery. Situation has been same for months now. Since Bitcoin made a jump in April this year, Alts started going down. Since then, they are only in bearish cycle. Also, the volume is coming to Bitcoin only. Plus Bitcoin is showing volatility in a positive direction. Right now altcoins don't make any sense.

No. the altcoins are no longer profitable so why buy them anyway?
I know some people are buying altcoins right now because they are very cheap but not me.
Bitcoin is currently more profitable so why buy altcoins? I chose to buy bitcoin since it is doing well more than the altcoins.

Re: your patience is being tested
by
Dreamr
on 05/11/2019, 23:32:25 UTC
when patience is being tested,
what are you doing in this market, is your routine still the same as usual or change other options?
selling at a low price is the same as selling a loss, and that is not a good solution. if you are a market player, you will know how to survive or take advantage of the market in any condition.
I was lost my patience when cryptocurrency was going to worst than worst. But I didn't sell my all token even any shitcoin. To take advantage from this condition, you can start mining or trading, when will bullrun start this process will make you worth.
the first concern arises when a dump occurs, and continues with a length of time that does not immediately change the situation. that's where our hesitation starts. at this time we must be able to think clearly to make decisions. Don't let panic overwhelm us. therefore patience must always be there until the price improves later

Bitcoin is still profitable though, only the altcoin market is not doing good.
And right now, I don't actually HODL any altcoin because I sold all my altcoins since 2018.
I'm currently HODLing only bitcoin, I follow the market as well. I don't like HODLing coins that are no longer profitable.

Re: TOP 5 ALTS TO WATCH
by

on 05/11/2019, 23:29:12 UTC
And why? Thank you!

Here are the top altcoins to watch from my own perspective. Binance coin, Litecoin, Ethereum, ChainLink, and Tomochain. Binance coin is backed by the world's biggest cryptocurrency exchange. Ethereum and Litecoin are among the all-time great altcoins. Chainlink and Tomochain are the new potential altcoins in the market right now.

Is this a good thing for all companies which 'use' stellar?

Stellar Lumens team burnt half of their total supply to help boost the current market price. And that has nothing to do with companies using Stellar network or service. Burning half of the Stellar token supply will not affect the Stellar network's reliable in any way.

Re: there are still many who invest in cryptocurrency?
by
Dreamr
on 05/11/2019, 23:23:54 UTC
as we know that in 2017 many ICO were successful (at least reached softcap) and of course the market cap was also very high at the time, so it proves that many people are interested to investing in cryptocurrency, but now where do these investors go? because now the market cap is down and many ICO or IEO are failing (not reaching softcap), are investors no longer interested to investing in cryptocurrency? if yes, where are they investing now? or is there a more profitable investment than investing in cryptocurrency for now?

Most of the people that invested in bitcoin, ICOs and other cryptocurrencies are professional investors. Some bitcoin and ICO investors in 2017 are from wall street and some are from JP Morgan. Also, many top investment banks, hedge funds and institutional investors invested in bitcoin and ICOs after the market crash they all went back to their original businesses.

Re: Burning of the XLM supply

Stellar XLM burnt half of their total supply to help boost the current XML market price. But I'm afraid the people are no longer interested on buying Stellar XML. People tend to focus on what is selling, the most profitable coin in the market and as of now it is bitcoin.

Re: BTC Dominance on CoinMarketCap
by
Dreamr
on 04/11/2019, 23:37:21 UTC
The Bitcoin dominance is down to 67.5%, which is around one percent lower than what we had 24 hours back. And surprisingly it is not established altcoins such as Ethereum or Litecoin that is giving the biggest challenge to Bitcoin in its quest to dominate the cryptocurrency market. The coin which had the highest 24 hour price change (among the top 10) was Bitcoin Cash, which went up by 7%.

Both Ethereum and Litecoin have not managed to breach the major resistance levels. Ethereum is still trading at 0.0198 BTC per coin, while Litecoin is trading at 0.0063 BTC per coin. XRP is performing well, and has reached a price of 3222 Sat. Out of these three coins, only XRP has managed to move forward during the last 1-2 months. Others have all lost their value against BTC.
Bitcoin always dominance in coinmarketcap because almost investor just looking with bitcoin as investment than altcoin, they have big interested with investing on bitcoin than altcoin. Bitcoin can give higher chance profit than altcoin although every day with several percent for earning profit with bitcoin investing, with altcoin maybe waiting for long time to get profit and big risk when altcoin price down.

I agree with your opinion that bitcoin always dominates the market. I think it's all because Bitcoin is still a favorite coin that can benefit investors. maybe investors assume that bitcoin has a more beautiful future than altcoin. and maybe also investors assume that altcoin is a lot of rubbish, so they will prioritize choosing bitcoin over altcoin, because surely they assume that holding altcoin carries a greater risk than bitcoin.
As they say, bitcoin is the king of the cryptocurrency world. thus, I think the bitcoin market dominance should be somewhere around 30-35% of the cryptocurrency market dominance to give the altcoins a room to grow in the future. But for bitcoin market dominance to reach over 60% that's overkill.

What do you think?

Not yet!
You’re looking at around 12-18 months after the halving that things start to get crazy.

Dude, the cryptocurrency market is unpredictable thus anything can happen at any giving time, a day or a week. Maybe the next bull run is around the corner maybe it is coming next month, who knows? We can only hope the bitcoin price will go up for the better.

This is awesome, it shows that cryptocurrency users are growing exponentially from all over the world. Seems like more people are now joining the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The best thing was in 2016 there were only 8 million wallets and by mid-2019 that number reaches up to 40 million, wonderful!

Definitely, Andreas Antonopoulos, he is the most famous bitcoin speaker all over the world - He is everywhere on YouTube trying to teach people how bitcoin works and why people should trust bitcoin. After Andreas Antonopoulos, we can add "Max Keiser" to the list for the real bitcoin believers for the last 10 years.

Sometimes it may it on your location. Bitcoin marketplaces such as Coinbase works in some countries not worldwide. If you are looking for the marketplace to buy bitcoin all over the world you should try localbitcoins, or paxful, or Binance, or Coinfy, and Coinmama as well.

Nope. you should never waste your time for only 5-10 cents a day, it doesn't worth the time and effort. It is better to join a signature campaign here on bitcointalk than going to some useless faucet site that is paying only 5 cents a day for clicking links.

People are investing in bitcoin because the saw bitcoin as an investment opportunity. Bitcoin was invented only 10 years ago and yet the most profitable investment for the last 10 years. Bitcoin has a huge potential and a room to grow in the future.

Re: Where do you invest 60 BTC?
by
Dreamr
on 30/10/2019, 17:04:37 UTC
Suppose you earned 60BTC by working hard for 5 years and one day you decide now you don't want to work then what would you do with that amount?
How would you invest that amount? What will you do? Hold it dreaming the price will rise? Sell it and invest the fiat? or start a business? or retire? Any ideas?  Tongue

60 Bitcoins are enough to start your own local cryptocurrency exchange in your country. You can start with small cryptocurrency exchange within your own locality and build a reputation and before you know it after a couple of years you'll become a popular cryptocurrency exchange.
