i initally agreed, didn't see the logic in mandating minimum 5 posts in the newbie forum, thought it would just result in me making 5 spam posts, but in reality it was pretty easy to contribute constructive posts and actually halp answer questions

Theres a good write up at bitcoin magazine explaining the recently proposed guidelines from FINCEN
http://bitcoinmagazine.com/fincen-bitcoin-users-not-regulated-exchanges-are/

not sure how this will pan out for miners, but it legitimizes the use of bitcoin for the buying of goods and services so thats gotta be good

yeah bitcoin mining on your home PC is not that profitable anymore, i wouldn't be expecting to mine loads of bitcoin unless you have a dedicated rig, or better yet wait for ASIC mining hardware check out butterflylabs or avalon they should be shipping products soon

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts (new topics or replies).

Does replies to this thread count? ;-)

I sure hope so, it's a bit of a pain, but i'll try and find 4 useful threads to reply to, so i can start posting elsewhere

EDIT: for the record 5 posts was easy. didn't need to spam either
