A bit off topic, but does anyone know how to spot fake volume? What are the signs? I mean fake volume in the sence when people buy and sell coins to themselves to make it look like its being traded more than it really is. Thanks.

Seems like a bot is trying to lower the price on Mintapal. Any thoughts? In any case, prices are lower relative to other markets, cheap cinni before codedcaffiene revitalizes it.
i dumped today before traded with mayority of alts below 20k$ cap. Altcoins are dead.
I was pissed when I bought cinni at .00015 and dumped at .00010. Glad I didn't wait too long.
Anyway, altcoins are not dead, just shaking down the prices for top whales to accumulate at rock bottom prices. Although I think we will have fewer relevent coins in the near future. Maybe cinni can be one if it gets back on track. And by back on track I mean with new or newish innovation. I don't think anonymous is the way to go for this coin as many coins are doing it very well. Perhaps transparency is the way to go. There is value in that too.

I don't usually condone evading taxes in public forums but if you did want to take a stand against your government for using your tax dollars for fighting illegal wars based on disinformation, for arming rebels to fight against insubordinate regimes, for arming the Kurds to fight the previously armed rebels who turned out to be muslim extremists, for bailing out TBTF banks and failing industries, or for setting the stage for a major currency devaluation by going wild on the printing press, DRK looks like a great option. With RC4 it will be even more appealing.

Seriously, what are governments going to do about large crypto holders hiding funds to avoid taxes? Usually they just put a freeze on the accounts the funds are stored in, but.... can't do that here folks. Other than take assets (house, cars) I don't know how they can prove who's coins are who's to even determine if they owe a certain amount of taxes in the first place. Man no wonder the guv hates crypto.

Yup, he is right. Why bother with paying tax on a traditional savings account when you can use something like PoSA on a stable coin to earn interest. Its a lot harder to trace and no taxes. I hope cloak is that stable coin because I plan on buying a lot with any btc I get from selling my drk after whatever price increase it gets from rc4. With these prices you would be crazy not to buy lots of cloak and hold it.

I would take your BTC from selling off BC and buy some DRK. They have a big coin update coming this week and the price is going to jump a bit. I am doing this and plan on buying some BC with the profits since its so low. I hear so much about BC devs not being active enough. I think thats crazy. I follow the altcoin world closely and BC is always being mentioned somewhere. Hell it just had an article on Coindesk the other day.
And I was wondering why everybody is buying DRK like crazy! Not a single SELL order in hours!

I must admit that i've been holding since around 7k sat all the way upto the peak-then all the way back down again. My own stupid fault for being naive thinking it will go up and up forever. I lost the chance to take a clean £2300. Now i've just today sold all my BC and lost £40. I see this as a lesson learned in the world of crypto, and that is, no matter how promising the developer is, no matter how much hype it gets or media attention, or innovation- things can go very wrong for a coin in a short amount of time. I wish you blackcoiners luck in your venture, and i will be back on the blackcoin WHEN not IF the train starts to move again, but for now, bagholding is no fun, i need some excitement back in crypto. The sort of excitement i got when we struggled to pass 10ksats and it shot up to an ATH.

Even funnier are the ones who doubt that anonymity is desirable at all. I mean how clueless do you have to be to hold such a view? It defies belief.
No one doubts that anonymity is desirable. They may say it, but not think it. People only say that to get an applause/votes from those who think anonymity is only for criminals. Those who say open/tracable transactions are better typically have something to gain by saying so.

Honestly, if I were you I would buy back in at sub .01. Its a common strategy to sell at a loss to buy back in at a lower value if you know the price is going to go back up soon. I don't claim to know how high the price will rise after RC4, but it will rise even if only 15% so profit will be made. I know it will have some increase by simply looking at other coins. Look at cloak and vrc. They had major feature updates to their coins and they both tripled in price days later despite dumping weeks before. Drk at the worst should have a minor increase over .01.
Anyone selling before RC4 (unless they have to) has no patience and no business in the crypto market. Unless their business is giving me cheap coins.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Did you take any time to learn about trading and the risks involved before investing a lot of your net worth in to DRK? I spent 3 months reading books and trading forums before ever making my first alt coin trade which helped me to avoid a lot of amateur mistakes. If you plan to trade anymore in the future, educate yourself some. It may be time consuming, but if you really want to make money in this game, knowledge is power.

I took the advice of some of the posters in this thread (not sure of their usernames) and traded some btc in for altcoins yesterday (after doing my own research on it too of course). Thanks for the advice!! DRK and LTC are the two I chose and they are doing quite well.

What a horrible article. Independent of his views on Darkcoin, it is just badly written. Just look at the title. Why is there a question mark at the end? I think he meant "How Can it be a Scam?". Or he could just remove the question mark from the original title.
So okay, maybe his english is bad. But the rest of the article makes claims that don't make sense. Like how a group of individuals can easily move the market at will. Well, what are they waiting for? Why wait for RC4? Just move it already if thats the case. Because its not...
