April Development Update
PoW²/SegSig
Today we will be releasing the final test builds to our testing group. This build is the complete package with only bug hunting and potential UI changes left to do.

Sonic
Sonic which will also be included in the 2.0 release has development and testing concluded. The results have been impressive with the average sync time dropping by +-65% on all setups compared to the current version.
We also picked up an issue with the sync when Windows Defender was enabled on all Windows operating systems which caused up to 3 times the sync period compared to Windows systems with it disabled, with Sonic this has been resolved, and on our tests this has reduced the syncs on those systems by +-85%. On some of our higher end test systems we are recording times of just over 13 minutes for a complete sync.

iOS
The new iOS wallet is in the final testing phase and scheduled to be released on the App Store in May.

I was wondering about the experiences of people mining with Hadron (check hadron.cloud).

• What is the performance of your system
• Which browsers did you try
• Which browsers work best (I expect Chrome will do great)
• How does it perform on your phone
• How many tabs can you open at once (depends on Echelon level I assume)
• How many devices can you use at once

Everyone is entitled to have an opinion, especially when you have (strong) arguments to support your opinion. In this case, there's only an opinion and absolutely no arguments to support their statement. The only way to deal with this is to ask them questions about their opinion and ask them for arguments why they think like that

Also, I gave it a big thumbs down on youtube and I would suggest you do the same, maybe RTLZ wakes up and thinks twice about hiring those idiots again. With a strong community it's possible to show that there's enough support for this coin!

Very strange that no one seems to be bothered by this or at least have some opinion. I think a lot of (Qt based) wallets probably share a lot of code and when a significant vulnarability is found in one of them, then it is likely that other wallets suffer from the same defect.

Maybe you can tell us something about how the mining performance is? What's the behavior of the CPU, Memory and Disk? I'm quite curious.

There aren't many insiders I think, there's only a few developers, the guys from Nocks and Rijk. What can can happen is that PoW2 and/or SegSig is/are delayed and/or some features not possible. I think it's all panic selling, end of 2017 a lot of new people stepped in and thought they were on their way to get rich fast and now that the price was stable for a while around €0.20 they possibly step out while taking some profit and then the snowball effect kicks in.

I still see a good future for Gulden and now have a new chance to buy low again ;-)

The Gulden 2.0 release is still being tested with bugs being fixed and retested until we are 100% confident each one can be written off the list. This process is time consuming but worth the peace of mind that when 2.0 is ready for release, your Gulden will be safe and secure with all functions working as intended across all platforms.

The update from 20-DEC-2017 said the following about Gulden 2.0 testers:

What are our testers testing for the Gulden 2.0 update?
We have had this question come up from many community members so we thought it would be a good time to break down the parts involved. The 2.0 update involves tens of thousands of lines of code that effect every layer of the software, from the blockchain consensus, the transaction script layer to the network layer and UI. While the bulk of the code has been written and reviewed there is simply no replacement for repeated real world testing by multiple parties and this is what the testing phase is all about.

1. Phase 1 to 5 upgrade script for PoW2 and SegSig compatibility.
The above process eliminates the need for an immediate messy hard fork; allowing time for everyone to upgrade cleanly while also bringing the witnessing functinality into use as fast as possible. With the amount of services reliant on Gulden we have to keep downtime to an absolute minimum.

2. Witnessing balance in practise compared to theory.
The development team have come up with a new testnet called fastnets where each person can run their own simulations alongside our main testnet. This gives our testers the ability to fast track the results of witnessing.

3. SegSig introduces a completely new transaction format with up to 58% smaller transactions.
This new format needs to be tested in multiple ways to ensure that it works in all cases and for all transaction types and that no unexpected issues are introduced.

4. When it comes to user interface design nothing beats real user feedback.
As we reach the final part of testing our UX team and developers will be working closely with users to ensure that the interface is one that all users can use and not just the technically minded.

5. iOS and Android 2.0 compatibility testing.

6. Aside from SegSig and PoW², version 2.0 also introduces dozens of other bug fixes and various new upstream functionality.
While the main focus is on SegSig/PoW² it is important that all other functionality is also retested to not let any surprise issues through.
