I think they (Banks) are a bit scared, but don't want to show it. They will tell people different types of disgusting lie about crypto world to save their status and it is in our hands to show the truth to people around us. It will be long and hard way to mass adoption. In 1980s Internet was said not for pictures and videos and now Cheesy The same with blockchain.

I think you are right that nearest 1-2 month are perfect time to jump in Wink Future is here and now it is not very expensive!

Maybe I was actually a little off: today's market seems to go up, and if the trend stays (and it looks like it's gonna stay) it's not gonna be two months, but two weeks at the most.
Happy to see things going upwards!

Most mainstream journalists don't have a clue what crypto is so they are going to demonise it and discourage others from investing. Ignore the fud, just follow the bitcoin experts instead

Sometimes they are being paid to do so. There's a lot of different approaches to crypto from enthusiastic to full of hate, we can't do much about it. They will eventually make fools of themselves like the Polish government that paid youtubers to defame cryptocurrencies. Just sit and wait, they can't win by making things up. The truth will always resurface and kick them in the ass.

I guess that's one approach - to wait. But it just makes me a little angry, their ignorance is getting in the way, and affects our community adversely.

Can't agree more: the level of ignorance is sometimes just appalling, I've seen some "reports" that show such low level of knowledge it's not even funny.
What I'm concerned about tis that general public still happens to trust these guys who show up on the screen and spread some inaccurate (to say the least) info. Doing my own share to spread the unbiased info via my own social media, but I'm not sure if that's enough.

...undermine cryptocurrencies and convince the world that it's "not worth it" - maybe, in fact this is the time to get in, before the bitcoin skyrockets?
Any thoughts..?

For reference, here's the article I can across today: http://money.cnn.com/2018/06/18/technology/bitcoin-cryptocurrencies-internet-bis/index.html

Re: Is it normal to wait for 6 months for a bounty reward?
by
ETHenthusiast
on 14/06/2018, 14:47:18 UTC
Most of us join bounty campaigns because it is one of the means for us to get coins. I just want to verify how many of us have experienced waiting for a long period of time to get our coins. Don't get me wrong, i do trust the managers and what they say. And, most of them give valid  reasons why it'll take that long for them to distribute the rewards. In average, how long do you receive your coins after a bounty campaign?

I would say the project where they make you wait for 6 months feels like scam. I can agree to 6 weeks, but definitely not 6 months (sorry if that has been said before).
Best of luck though, hope they will give you your bounty - against all odds.

Re: What do you think about community managers?
by

on 14/06/2018, 14:41:52 UTC
Hello everyone!

I'm working as a community manager for a year now. I like what I do, but this work is pretty challenging. Sometimes I have to work 24/7.

And I'm curious what you think about community managers. Does they help you? What would you change in community managers? What style of communication you prefer?

It is very interesting to know  Smiley

I expect community manager to be knowledgeable and resourceful (aka if he/she doesn't know something - they will find out within a resonable time frame). Also, I would like a community manager to give shorter and very concrete answers, rather than copy/paste long standard texts. And friendliness and sense of humor helps too Wink

Re: Panic loss me 10800$ , so patient is the key
by
ETHenthusiast
on 14/06/2018, 14:38:47 UTC
Dear Members

Recently I faced a bad luck. here the story

I got IOTX from GATE .io 28th of may 196000 @ .00004600 ETH.  Then after one or two hour i sold it to @ .00004800.

After 3 days means June 1st , one IOTX went to .00014ETH.

if i sell June 1st  196000 * .00014 *590 = 16189$
Investment is = 5300$
so i have lost = 10800$

so in this story if i could wait 3 days , i have profit of 10000 USD. so in this case i am saying please be patient. wait wait. good coins always give a good reward to you

I don't think you lost your money here, all you did is lost the profits if you can hold it more but you still made profits with your investment.First of all you need to contented with your earnings and don't be too greedy because mostly greed will tend to lose more. But think can be a good lesson for you to hold more but no one knows that when the price will increase or decrease so it will be better to aim small profits.

If I may add (sorry if this was said before): with any investment, fiat or crypto, it's always a good idea not just to avoid panic, but also diversify your investments. And since crypto is highly volatile it's always a good strategy to invest smaller amount, no matter how promising the project is. If it skyrockets you will still get some profits, and it's never too late to add to the portfolio, even at a higher price.

Re: 99% OF ALL AIRDROPS ARE SCAMS!!!!!
by
ETHenthusiast
on 12/06/2018, 19:57:37 UTC
So far I have not been scammed in airdrops, maybe because I just joined very recently.
Or maybe because I only participate in airdrops when it's managed by dev team whom gained my trust.
I believe in the latter reason.

Same thing, I just trust my gut feeling, and don't run for the ones promising just too much. I guess common sense in assessing helps a lot. And so far no disappointments.

Potcoin has been one of the best performing coins during the last red market. It’s new support is 1300 sats. Breakout is immenent. Charts show if we get past 1400 sats, it’s moon shot after that. Also news about dennis rodman going to peace talks again overseas is happening and potcoin is paying for everything. Be ready.

Is that the coin that supports Dennis Rodman?  Huh

Re: Self-hate is a disease
by
ETHenthusiast
on 12/06/2018, 17:06:26 UTC
I think we have to understand that hatred is a bad thing, every religion teaches us to live in mutual respect, have love among fellow human beings, not even hate each other, by saving this it will cause various conflicts, even with hatred can make people kill each other, so let us get rid of hatred and create affection among others

Any religion, plus common sense, plus history lessons.
In a broader sense, any hate (including self-hate) is a disease.
Though I may agree that self-hate is the worst of them all as it triggers hate to everyone around. And if G-d forbid the self-hater has any power over others they become tyrants (on small or big scale).

Please do share ideas how to (NOT sarcastic!).
Some of the people that I know could use some sophisticated ways to resist their govts.

I simply can't believe that there are people who are seriously saying that "he had some points", or "there are some good things about him"...

Do you prefer democracy then?  Huh

As a matter of fact I do.
As imperfect as democracies are (and alas they are very far from perfect) - they are still much better than oppressing regimes. Think the second half of 20th century, and all the technological and scientific advances that were made withing the democratic systems.
Think blockchain and crypto: was it invented in the totalitarian country, or in the democratic country?
Again, democracies have flaws but by far it's the best the world has for right now.
I invite you to prove me wrong, and tell me how countries like North Korea, or Venezuela, or any other autocracy/dictatorship is somehow better than, say, Denmark, or New Zealand, or Canada.

The improvements you see in technology are just temporary. Democracy stands for mass immigration and capitalism, not freedom. Yes, you have the right to vote but the decisions are already made for you. I personally know zero people who voted for our new currency, the Euro. It was forced to us.

Instead of comparing countries you should compare cities. Where would you rather live, in Detroit or Caracas? Mälmo or Pyongyang? As a true democrat you would pick those ruïned cities, Detroit and Mälmo. That's how all of our cities would eventually look like under democracy. Paris for example used to be known as a romantic city, what's left of that now?

Last time I was in Paris (2016) it was still very romantic and beautiful.
Stepping away from the main topic: what do you mean by "improvements in technology are temporary"? I think it's pretty consistent, and I agree with the above said that in a democracy one has much better chances to express their talent, including technical, than in a dictator ruled society.

Apart from natural disasters (some of which are partially man-triggered) I think the biggest danger is greed.
It drives out worse of the humanity, and causes so many issues and problems...

May I add: CORPORATE greed of most transnational Inc's... They are the worst, and they throw money to legislate their way around the world.

Re: US President Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un sign document

This is a good sign for a long lasting peace in Korean Peninsula. I hope it will continue to the goal they want. And maybe the unification of two Korea's just like in Germany.
However, now it is hard to make a prospection what influence this doc really have. Will hope that situation will be changed for the better.

Let's hope for the best (I'm a perpetual optimist) but also stay realistic. NKorea so many times agreed to stop the nuclear program, and broke those agreements just as many times... So, realistically: what's the reason to believe that regime now vs. all the previous times? I mean, I do hope they will stop this craziness, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
As to Iran: they should be hopeful. If NKorea was able to trick trump into meeting them - Iran should be able to pull this off just as well!

Re: Society and Nudity
by
ETHenthusiast
on 12/06/2018, 16:01:06 UTC
I think nudity alone is not immorality. If nudity is for the sake of art and science, then it will not be as terrible as people think. I believe that nudity is a natural way of showing how beautiful and innocent our body is. However, in today's world, it is already been denied since people gave it a immoral impression. It is abused by others and often use for their sexual interest. Religions and cultures varies across the world, hence people beliefs about nudity also varies. But I think nudity can be accepted as an art of nature depending on the society and its norms. I believe that there would be no problem if it is agreed upon by the people in a particular society.

Nudity isn't immoral unless people that are in nude engage in activities that are to be hidden behind closed doors of their bedrooms. In other words I don't mind naked people around me as long as they don't do sexual things and just enjoy and celebrate their natural state.

Re: Take Showers, Not Baths
by
ETHenthusiast
on 12/06/2018, 15:50:09 UTC
An article on the Telegraph says that the head of the Environment Agency is warning England of the need for personal water targets. In particular, people should take showers instead of baths. They are urged to use less water and companies are asked to curbed leaks in order to to prevent future shortages and damage to rivers and wildlife. Apparently, many of their sources of water supplies are already overstretched. Couple that with a growing population and climate change, much of England could face supply shortages by the 2050

Wake up, people! We should all be afraid of our resources depleting. It’s not just drought, but food and clean air as well.

What if the time comes when we’re asked to not even take showers anymore?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/05/23/ditch-bath-environment-agency-chief-says-warns-need-personal/

From my personal experience, it's very possible to save a lot of water by doing simple things.
As gross as it may sound: when you wake up in the middle of the night to pee - don't flush. Contrary to popular belief, it won't stink by the morning, and if you do (or rather don't do it) daily - it will save over 1 TON (!!!) of clean water per year per person (6 liters per flush*365 days).
And food consumerism if the worst: western society throws away so much food - it's enough to feel every hungry person in the world. So just don't buy more until you finish what you already have...
