Dear Sir/Madam.

We can see from our records that you have selected to receive a bonus Titan miner as part of the 2 for 1 offer we ran last year. Due technical issues in the selection process the Titan miner was not correctly registered as a choice and not accounted for. In this case we would like to offer you the following options instead of receiving the bonus Titan miner.

Option 1: Swap the bonus Titan miner for a free Neptune miner expected to ship within the next few weeks.

Or

Option 2: Receive a BTC payment of 3 Bitcoins per bonus Titan miner you were entitled to. (If you select this option please provide a BTC wallet address with your confirmation)

Please reply to this email to confirm your choice before the end of business 17:00 CET on Friday 3rd of April.

Thank you.
KnCMiner Team.

What a crooks!  How can an ONLY 3 BTC offer be a reasonable compensation for their error!
A Titan-second-batch has 450 mHs, and makes 2 BTC per month! with current difficulty (which was stable for months in a row).  Running a Titan-second-batch for 1 year will make much and much more than their 3 BTC offer.  This is pure extortion!

My advice: reject their offer. Ask at least 9 BTC.

I highly recommend ditching the class 4 micro SD and purchasing a class 10 4GB to get more stability.

Does a 8GB micro SD work as well ?  (That's the smallest I can get at my local store).

And is it just a matter of stopping the Titan, exchanging the SD card, and restarting it again? Or is there more to it?

Wasted space doesn't harm.
What is important is the class of the SD card (read/write speed).
Look for Class 10.

Switching to another SDcard is the same procedure like your SDcard corrupted.

Titan SD flash guide.

1. Turn off the miner and remove the Micro SD card from the Raspberry Pi.
2. Download the V1.02 Titan .img file: https://github.com/KnCMiner/titan/releases

3.
Follow this link if you are using Windows for instructions on how to write the image to the SD Card http://www.raspberrypi.org/documenta...ges/windows.md

Follow this link if you are using MAC for instructions on how to write the image to the SD card: http://www.raspberrypi.org/documenta...-images/mac.md

Follow this link if you are using Linux for instructions on how to write the image to the SD card: http://www.raspberrypi.org/documenta...mages/linux.md

4. Insert the newly imaged SD card back into your Raspberry Pi and turn on the miner.

Prepare your new sdcard, shut down your miner, replace sdcard and restart.

ahhh.. thank you. !

well for those of you with problems with bfgminer restarting and cubes...there is something I read about the Titan working well on the

liteguardianpool pool and that pool having an asic ready port on it you can toggle...and someone with a Titan said they used it and it works to solve the problem

No not true...  I work with liteguardian-pool for days already.  And yes it is the best pool, but it doesn't solve the stop/restarting problem at all.  Only 2 of my cubes work well.

I run with 2 cubes without problems (nearly zero rejects, nearly zero hardware errors, and 155 Mh/s).  But two faulty cubes. one gives that error above, the other gives "failed to set workstate" and both dump BGFminer within a few minutes.

Elenelen, do either of your 2 faulty cubes work ok when used alone on the controller ?

No they don't.  But the controller has it's own issues: if 4 Cubes are connected then you cannot open the Advanced-page anymore, because it times out (after 50 seconds). If 3 cubes are connected the advanced-page pops up after 30 seconds.

[2014-09-28 05:53:22] KnC spi xfer: ioctl error on SPI device: Message too long

Occasionally getting this right before miner stops.

Yes: that one I get with one of my faulty Cubes as well

i still didnt get my titan WTF!

Don't worry, you aren't alone. I'd be surprised if those incompetent fucks at KNC have sent 20 out so far.

You should be happy not to be a guinea pig !!
Those who have got Titans (like me), have spend days in frustration to get it working....

Two problems:
1) Not all cubes work well (they dump BFGminer), and it costs a hell of a time to find the problem ones.
2) when you found a working set, you will have trouble to find a Pool which can handle your speed. Most of them especially the Multi-switching pools are not usable.

All in all I lost at least 4 days of my life, and have 2 Cubes who need to RMA.

Anyone is experiencing the restarting issue getting worse?

Yesterday I had restarts every 2-3 minutes avgr. in ~200mhz for a Titan over a couple of hours.

Today its not even running 10 sec. before restarting avgr. in ~50mhz for a Titan. On every pool I try. This is also independent from the count of Cubes connected?  Huh

Looks you have one or maybe two faulty Cubes.

With my Titan, I have done more than 50 tests (deductive replacing one piece of the system with another {cables, PSUs, connectors, cubes}) and now I'm sure I have one Cube which is responsible for all the BFGminer dumps every few minutes.  If I only connect the 3 OK cubes, then I have no dumps at all (have ran it 5 hours). But replacing one of the 3 with the faulty one, or adding the faulty one to get a 4 cube system, results in dumping very frequently.

I also see this error in BFGminer if the faulty is connected:
"Fault to set work state (10)"  {hundreds of those error prints}.
This error isn't present if I work with the 3 OK cubes.

Monday I will ask a RMA for that wrong cube.

OK, it's running now much better. I do about 160 Mhs with 2 cubes.  I will run it this night, and connect the other 2 cubes tomorrow.

My earlier unstable results where caused by a multi-coin switching pool (that will not work nicely with a relative huge Worker). I'm now running on a Litecoin only pool and it's much, much smoother now.

I have one Titan-cube connected, and the LCD-display is telling that it's hashing...but how do I get to see BFGminer through SSH?  I never used BGCminer (but CGM instead)....
Can someone help me?  If I enter "screen -dr" it tells: "there is no screen to be connected"...

ps -ef | grep bfg* , try grep ID first.

Once you grep ID, try this command: tail -f ID or tail -f bfgminer.exe, or what ever you got when you greped, Thus this is a old trick on old version Linux, I can't guaranty it will work on mini pi OS.

OK tried that with the ID,  but gives: "tail: cannot open '32093' for reading: no such file or directory".

Thank you for all your help... I thought it was some simple answer, but I will ask KNC for assistance now...

I have the answer!   Kurt from KNC-forum:   I have to login with "pi"  as user instead of "root" (like the case on Jupiter and Neptune).

Thanks as well.
But my Linux knowledge is limited... I get a whole screen with text, if I type the above.

By the way, I have now 2 boxes connected  but they aren't very stable at all,  hashing between 70 to 152 Mhs, constantly stopping and restarting cores...

how many cubes is one titan ?

If i remember right KnC-Kurt wrote "4".

Yes, 4 cubes, but I'm testing with just 2

Elen, have you tried seeing if any screen sessions exist at all?

screen -ls
-should list all screens for the current user, or you could try:

ls -laR /var/run/screen/
-to show all screens on the system.

And if you find a screen you could use:
screen -x screenname

Thank you for the info.
I just tried "screen -ls"   which gives: "No Socket found in var/run/screen/S-root"

The "ls -laR /var/run/screen/" gives 3 maps with nothing except there is in /var/run/screen/S-pi  one row with "31732.cgminer".

I tried "screen -x 31732.cgminer"  but does nothing...

It might not be running in a screen session.

Do these things not have a web interface?

What does it show at the pool?

It all looks very similar to my Neptune.  But in this case the have not installed CGminer, but BFGminer instead.... With my Neptune I watched CGminer with a screen session, I like to do this with Titan as well....but lack the knowledge.
