I try to go to the Ann section of Bitcointalk but that's not getting anywhere. I keep coming back hoping that by pure chance I will see an Ann thread of the next big thing.

WTF! Just encountered your thread and check my news feed on facebook if it's true  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Speechless

What a disaster   Cry He may rest in piece

Oh wow, to find out about it from Bitcointalk. To me this is one of those stories that you will always remember where you were when you heard it. He was that big. I was in the laundromat and overheard someone talking about it. I had to calm myself down to not cry.

Crypto does not run a 365 day calendar, with predictable events. It's a good time to buy, but because of the day of the year.
The crypto events can happen a few times in a year and you re right about that but isn't it if we must feel optimistic about crypto anytime? the big trend will not always happen as last year we have seen crypto has been getting big pump at the middle of the year and it goes down again.

What I'm saying is that one has to be more open minded and think more outside the box. Not think, "Bitcoin pumped 15k in August 2017, that means it's going to pump again in August 2018." Time is better spend thinking of all current factors. Just going by a past time is lazy.

It's not trash because crypto is synonyms with Bitcoin. That by itself makes it more valuable than any other alt. Infact non Bitcoin coin are called alt. There's a reason for that.

Sometimes it really feels that way and that creates a lot of stress and anxiety. Sometimes it feels as if someone is paying attention to me, just waiting to see what I do.

I'm sure it's just coincidence though.

Re: Why the global currency cannot be 100% internet based and if we will have one
by
ElevenX
on 25/06/2019, 03:47:21 UTC
I don't think an internet based coin is something that will completely take over. The majority of the world only knows cash, and with that cash they have credit cards. And in knowing cash, they're not going to want to give up having some in their pockets, and buying little things here and there. Give a neighborhood kid a dollar. And hundreds of little things that they can do with cash.

Re: Btc has no value
by

Some people saying BTC has no value as is made from nothing. Those same people using money in every day life. If we look into paper money as terms of value this piece of paper is also without value and also made from nothing.

If we think this way then we should be only exchanging goods like gold, stones, weapons, food.

BTC, Crypto is in my opinion only next step in term of money. So we will be calling BTC money soon. It will only be huge advantage for us early adopters to get some while cheap.

When btc will be replacing money in terms of salary anyone who will one 1 BTC only will benefit a lot as with price increasing people will get salary of cca. 2000 sats and 1 l of milk will cost 1 sat in the store.

I think the bolded would be a big problem. If Bitcoin were to take over, too much resentment from the non early adopters.

Re: Do you think this year will be Red?
by

It's been red the whole year by a massive lots, so I don't think there's any saving that for this year. This year has been a mess.

But that means it's a great opportunity for people who haven't invested yet to start. I started last December.

It can't be an exchange, because it seems that the news will be bigger than an exchange. At least bigger than the average exchange, and not ones like Binance. If I were to guess it would be a partnership that will legitimize privcy with outside the privcy participants.

Re: Why is crypto making the world go crazy?
by

on 27/07/2018, 06:52:56 UTC
The whole world is not going crazy for crypto. I hardly ever see anyone talking about it in my daily life. I did last December, but not anymore.

But for those who are going crazy for it, like myself, it's because of the hope of learning something that can potentially improve their life.

Re: what do you think about pump and dump?
by

on 19/07/2018, 02:41:31 UTC
I view it as a really, really negative concept. It's basically people trying to dupe unsuspecting people to buy shit coins, so that they can dump it on them, and essentially transfer their wealth over/

Re: How to Choose a Good ICO
by

I'm somewhat of a newbie, but from what I've seen so far, read is that with the current market it's better to just wait for the coin to go to an exchange. A lot less risk, because you better determine if it was a scam or not.

Re: HODL mentality destroys the currency aspect of Bitcoin
by

on 09/07/2018, 22:02:19 UTC
The original idea of Bitcoin, the vision of Satoshi was awesome. How cool would it have been to be able to store your wealth on a USB stick for example. But the wrong people have gotten into Bitcoin, and all they do is manipulate people into holding, or selling.
Manipulation is getting strong and some whales take that opportunity to gain more when the others are losing.  Anyway,  that is investment and trading works and not all the time that we are wining. I'm pretty sure bitcoin won't grow if everyone are on holding, it works and moves only when there is transaction happen.

Yes, that is how investment and trading works, and I doubt that this was the original idea of Satoshi. It's not used as a currency, too many people hold. Don't even want to buy pizza with it any more.
I think I have to wait for a lot of requests so the price goes up, so too many will sell it, so btc can spread, and ultimately reduce the monopoly on bitcoin by whales

Since Bitcoin is finite, whale will never sell enough not to have control. They will always have that advantage.

Of course it's not safe. Everybody knows this, and you hear it constantly. You have 168 activity points, so the question is odd because that means you've been here for a while.

That's why I don't touch ICO, I just rather wait until they go on an exchange. It's hard enough worrying about whether you're being scammed, but now giving out your personal details?

Re: Does crypto bring more risk than benefit?
by
ElevenX
on 05/07/2018, 06:56:20 UTC
Crypto is a risk, so it all depends. Meaning that it all depends on the side you're on. Did you lose a lot of money because you bought the wrong coin, got hacked and so on? Or did you get lucky and made many times what you put in. So the answer is, it depends.
