Bitcoin's historical price pattern over the last month is fairly predictable.  The price peaked with the peak in publicity.  Although I have not looked at the data, it is safe to assume that there is a correlation between the number of google searches for "bitcoin" and the price.  It would not surprise me if the price hits $400 before it hits $1,000 again.  Currently, bitcoin is mainly a speculative vehicle, albeit an excellent one.  Because it has no ceiling on its potential value, the price could hit $1 million or more in the years to come.  On the other hand, speculators may find another vehicle to get excited about and bitcoin's peak price may have already been reached.  BTC
