Hey quick,

Someone wake up JJG so he can tell me again that there are no pre-planned, coordinated attacks on Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes

I've been wondering about this myself, seems like strategic FUD. Death by a 1000 cuts.

What do you base that on?

Do you guys think a government shutdown would be beneficial for the crypto markets right now?

what...on earth...would that non-event have to do with anything??

People lose more faith in the established system and gain a little more faith in crypto, a possibility.

2 more days sideways and we´ll see a drop. Thats what happens most of the time when we go sideways after a dump :/
I don't think so

If you're referring to China ban that's an old story. S.Korea ban? Does BTC give a damn?
Nope, it doesn't and it won't. After all, countries like Switzerland are embracing cryptos with open arms. As much as I can understand why a government would want to regulate or outright ban cryptos, it's almost certainly the wrong move from just about every perspective.

I wasn't talking about government regulations, I was referring to the possibility of a temporary US Federal Gov. shutdown that has been in the news lately.

First official e-commerce transaction with Lightning Network? Sounds like it:

File this one next to the pair of 10k btc pizzas.  Cheesy

Why only 4 comments? You'd think it would have more attention.

I have not been impressed with the Reuters coverage so far. I can't believe people are being paid for some of the one sentence stuff they've been putting out.

Yeah, people are calling them out in the comments. At this point I have to think it's strategic FUD.

Eliottists still will say this is the "back to normal" phase.

Or the bull trap. I wish people would take their emotions out of this and just use caution.

The FUD course by North Korea and China are the main responsibility of the current decline of the market Value of bitcoin and altcoins in recent time. And the current decline has create an avenue for newbies and rational investors to invest more at this time that the value is low.

Also, someone said that CME contract expired 1/17, which means that the short is expiring now.

I couldn't find a source to confirm that, but if it's true, then Bitcoin will be pumped massively. And the alts will recover with it.

Enjel, have you watched I Love Crypto's latest video/livestream? He mentions the futures.

This crash, er correction, er whatever it is really sets things up well for the rest of the year.

So many newbs, naysayers, and casual mom and pops out there who have been thinking about dipping a toe into Bitcoin definitely won't now. They'll have a laugh now and it will fade, and they will completely put Bitcoin out of their mind.

And then they will again be shocked when it takes off to the moon again later on this year or next. I almost feel bad for the people who just can't seem to win because they believe they are smarter than everyone else already involved.

I agree, think things look good in the long run but may enter a bear market for a while. There were far too many people blindly throwing money at cryptos, especially alts, for things to grow in a healthy manner.

The alt pump and dumps were a red flag just begging for regulation as well. If the market can't handle RUMORS of South Korea or maybe China regulating, just imagine how devastating actual confirmed news about US regulation or SEC investigations would be.

Far too many normies investing money they couldn't afford to lose that they would yank out of the market at the slightest sign of trouble, did not bode well.

How quickly cryptos went from being about "decentralization" to "I want my lambo" was not encouraging. Who cares if the system is decentralized if it's still run by greed. Forget about having crypto being assimilated into the normiesphere, this should be about creating an entirely new space all together.

Some decent analysis going on. Good to entertain the possibilities.
