Re: JUST TRANSFERED 20K USD AND BANK CHARGED ME $700 !!!!
by

on 27/03/2018, 00:40:05 UTC
This is why we need bitcoin. I am soo sick of these central bank mafia scum controlling our finances.!!!

I just did a international wire transfer and the banks cuased me to loose $700 because of how the make a huge 3% margin with the conversion of the money from one country currency to another.Imagine those bankers sitting there in their Jacuzzis relaxing while their computers move money getting $700 or much more from all the people who send money.
D@mn mafia!!
What would you do with $700 for free??

These banks are building the own destruction by robbing people like that.It is very arrogant they should be in jail for theft and fraud.
This is why we need bitcoin!! If I used the ightning network I could have done the transaction for some pennies!

That's just criminal mate.

And you're one of millions of people getting ripped by the banking system everyday.

This is EXACTLY why the crytpo world needs to be widely adopted and implemented.

Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money?
by
ElusivePhantom
on 15/03/2018, 23:20:43 UTC
It's just a means of exchange. No more and no less.

It increases in value (generally speaking) because there is finite number of them.

Money as in fiat currency is infinite, it can always be made if more is needed.

You need to remember than the main advancement in all this is the block chain technology upon which BTC operates.

BTC isn't block chain, it operates on it. It's sound as any means of exchange. However, the problems it faces is global integration and acceptance.

There's always friction when a new idea than is revolutionary is introduced. Even something as remedial as microwaves had it problems in the early days.

It was tainted as some cancer causing machine. The companies that produced ovens didn't like the idea. Why? Because it stood to change the way a kitchen operates and would most likely outsell the number of conventional ovens sold each year.

But how many people have a microwave now?

It was accepted and became mainstream to the point you will struggle to find someone that doesn't own one now.

I believe this will eventually be the case with BTC and other cryptocurrencies.

Re: bitcoin will rise up again ?

its just a correction of bitcoin price. bitcoin will surely go up sooner or later. that price correction is needed for bitcoin and the whole crypto space.

Yep, pretty much dude.

Someone on this forum stated the other day they expect to see BTC between $30 and $50k by the end of the year.

I'm not qualified to share the optimism, but I certainly hope it does reach new heights.

When you have the centralised bodies such as major and banks and Google trying to flex their muscle and derail the who crytpo space, it's a sure sign that the industry is going to get bigger and better.

If if it wasn't a legitimate threat to the power houses, they wouldn't be making such bold moves as banning or restricting facets that pertain to crypto within their own spheres.

Like I tell the guys in our group, just sit tight and wait. Don't sell anything, just buy more.

During these times of dips and lows, I utilise that time to learn as much as I can about the fundamentals of block chain and crytpo as a whole.

There's no point checking the prices of your investments right now, it can be detrimental to your focus and future outlook. Just leave it until June/July and then reassess.

Re: What's the best way to deposit on Binance?
by

on 11/03/2018, 05:15:55 UTC
Withdrawals from GDAX are free so you can transfer over your BTC and then use that to purchase alt coins. Finance also has a good reputation for fast transactions!

Good luck  Grin

You meant, Finance Binance, right? Tongue and no, Binance has faster transactions just because their withdrawal fees are usually higher compared to other exchanges.

They have just cut their BTC withdrawal fee by half (back to what it was a few months ago).

But also a point of consideration to question being asked, trading fees on Binance are reduced by 50% by holding some BNB (Binances own coin).

They are a good investment in themselves as well. So if you're planning to trade on Binance, pays to buy some BNB.

And their transactions are processed fast as already mentioned. I've used Binance primarily for most of my trading. They are reliable and trustworthy.

Re: VIRGINITY before getting married
by
ElusivePhantom
on 11/03/2018, 04:48:32 UTC
Only the most disciplined women stay virgins until they're married.

Personally I believe they should be, but I'm old school.

It's a personal choice for people to remain that way, and a choice for someone to accept the status of a persons virginity upon marriage.

In this day and age, you would be challenged to find anyone who is still a virgin at marriage.

Society has changed, and the importance and stigma attached to the notion is well obsolete.

Re: How do you deal with friends/family when they lose their investment?
by

on 11/03/2018, 00:48:00 UTC
You need to make it clear to anyone you help (not persuade or give false promise to etc) that this is no different to any type of investment.

You could made or fortune or lose it all. It's their personal choice to get involve.

If you're taking someones money to promise returns, that's most certainly unacceptable and will only lead to disaster.

Re: I'm gonna sell my house
by

on 11/03/2018, 00:09:34 UTC
This is obviously a troll but while everyone is here, for the newbies, never invest more than you can afford to lose. Look at it like gambling, staking more than you can afford to lose could lead to some serious consequences

Have to agree on this one.

Such a notion of selling your house to buy BTC is no different to selling it to wager on a bet.

Although everyone you tell will probably think you're crazy, I believe such a move will pay off for you.

If you genuinely are going to do this, I hope it works out for you.

Re: Is it better to have many altcoins or it is enough to have few?
by
ElusivePhantom
on 10/03/2018, 23:20:34 UTC
I've had a bunch of alt coins over the past 9 months since getting into crypto. I managed to make some wise choices in that time, and the bull rush up to January saw me with something like 25 of the top 100 coins making a fair bit money each day.

But the issue with having too many alts is the security factor having them stored on many exchanges, and the hassle pertaining to the need multiple wallets.

I eventually ended up selling most of them and consolidating the funds into 1 coin I believe will do well in the future.

I've kept a few, but any more than about 6 can be a headache.

But if they are ERC20 tokens for example, that's not so bad. But the question I see many times and still can't answer confidently is "are you better off with $100 in 10 coins or $1000 in 1 coin?".

It depends sometimes. As 2 or 3 or those could moon. I liken it to roulette. Sometimes you need to put a few chips on a 4 way square, and twice that many on a straight up. Cuz you never know when that number will come up and pay big.

Re: Is Bitcoin Stabilising?
by
ElusivePhantom
on 08/03/2018, 08:43:46 UTC
There is no stabilizing term in BTC. However, governments around the world will try to get involved in this huge market with their laws, regulation, tax, etc.
And it is proving the world accepting BTC slowly but surely. So I can tell, in the future, the price will go high, but not crazy.
There is no such thing as "stable" in the world of bitcoin. If it is stable, it can only become a worthless coin, fluctuating, rising and falling. It is a normal trading market and no one can judge the direction of the market. Bitcoin began to fall again yesterday because currency security was hacked to steal users. No one knew these things in advance, and no one could predict the decline of Bitcoin.

Yep, pretty much dude.

Stable and BTC shouldn't really be put in the same sentence.

Maybe the question could centred around the notion of volatility and not stabilisation.  Cheesy

Re: my friend have my user and password and my passport scan
by
ElusivePhantom
on 06/03/2018, 03:01:07 UTC
Bittrex prompts a verification every time you use a different IP even with 2FA enabled. My internet connection is dynamic IP so I go through this virtually every log in.

But I would advise in any case to change passwords, put 2FA on your email if you're able, and in future trust NO ONE with your personal credentials. Especially a female unless it's a family member (no sexist provocation intended). As others have said, Ex-girlfriend or friend with benefits or anything of that nature could put you at high risk.

Even though she doesn't have your email, she could get it from the personal info section on your Bittrex account. If i'm not mistaken that's your user name clearly written under account summary (well mine is). And holding your ID could give her unauthorised access to forgotten password requests on email etc.

Most exchanges require you to submit a selfie of you holding your ID, so her options are limited in that regard.

But be careful dude.

Follow the instructions of the people who have suggested etherscan mate.

I had a few coins disappear after adding them to MEW. And I had to put the custom token details in again and they showed up.

I've been in the same situation. If you have sent them to your correct MEW address, they will be there.

Re: Hacker Returns $26 Million in Ether Months After ICO Theft

Very odd, they stole all this money, sat on it and returned it? Must be a fear of not knowing how to sell it without getting caught.
Great point. it is odd to see a hacker return a stolen funds coin/token.
I think you are right it must be the fear of 20 years in jail, if not the electric chair in China. Cheesy

That ain't no lie. If he is ever caught and his computer forensically examined, there will probably be a 1000 Google searches pertaining the topic of "What happens if I get charged and convicted of stealing millions".

The best he could get was a 20 year non-parole minimum.

That's a long time to share a cell with Bubba  Cheesy

It is a quite a story to ponder on, and the reasons why someone would return that amount of money.

I guess as someone pointed out, getting it is one thing, but being able to cash that sum of dollars is quite another.

You don't just happen upon $26 million dollars. And it would difficult to explain to anyone how you obtained it  Cheesy

At least it's a positive none the less. But scams and hackers in this industry grow by the day, and security of all your crypto stuff should be of ultimate concern.

But good to hear ill-gotten gains have been returned.
