We need datapoints to see how the network would degrade when the blocks are consistently way over 1MB. If the impact is minor, then who knows some level of safe block size increase could also be incorporated into core.

I ordered some AntMiners from Bitmain just after the last block confirmed. It is now 2 hours and 43 minutes later and my transaction has not yet confirmed because there are no blocks. It seems like BCH miners are just opportunistic parasites that jump off BTC to BCH when the price of BCH goes up, and jump back to BTC immediately after the price drops.
At least with BTC there are enough miners who stick around to keep the system functioning, albeit at a lower rate.

Apart from the fact it would look suspicious walking up to a BTC ATM with a duffle bag full of $$$ - whats stopping these people converting their cash reserves to BTC?
They have other ways of doing this without the daily limits of ATMs. If you are an early Bitcoin holder seeking to sell your coins (bulk amounts) for cash, you will eventually encounter these shady types. Maybe not the criminals directly, but some intermediary who gets their cash supply directly from the criminals.

Buying and selling with PayPal carried asymmetrical risks. As a buyer you carry no risk. As a seller the transaction could be reversed long after you've released your coins. Consequently, if you want to buy don't expect to buy anonymously or without any reputation. You can use localbitcoins.com.
Bitcoin cash is more in line with the usual bitcoin whitepaper. And segwit is clearly not how Satoshi proposed it should go.

Scaling doesn't just mean bigger and bigger blocks. If you want to believe that it's fine, but others have the opinion that Bitcoin should not just rely on this to scale.
Most people that investing bitcoin now, are just investing to make money. It annoys the hell out of me. 90% of people haven't read the white paper! That way all of these stupid investors can suck their thumbs and get taught a lesson. 90% of these people also would have said bitcoin was a scam 9-15 months ago but now look at them. They run around like fucking idiots screaming "BLOCKCHAAINN!!!", "DECENTRALISATIONNNN!!!".

It is not possible with a soft fork. It is possible with a hard fork, but I doubt many people would accept your new fork. Your fork would probably drop in value very quickly. Who wants an inflationary version of Bitcoin when we already have fiat?

Why not we should focus on saving more bitcoins than selling our last remaining bitcoins?
Everyone's situation is different. I still have many bitcoins from GPU mining plus I had one of the first ASICs available. Even after squandering away a large number of coins it appears like I currently still have enough to retire very comfortably should I desire to do so. Right now, I am considering slowly selling my coins and using them to enjoy life. I'd rather not let greed overtake me and try to get more coins. There's really no need for me to take that route.

we can clearly see what end of this stupid scaling debate back in August and people like Roger Ver did to bitcoin. you can only imagine what things would have been like if they never existed or forked off a long time ago.
There will always be stupid debates, if not about scaling then about something else. These tend to suppress the price, but I tend to believe that some level of controversy helps keep Bitcoin strong and less fragile.

I work in the financial services industry. A lot of people at work know about blockchain and cryptocurrencies. We even have a working group that discusses these topics and run training labs on a regular basis. This was not the case a year ago.

Because as I read, if there's no replay protection, so for every B2X dumped, there will be a equal number of BTC dumped. If someone sell one B2X, they will be selling one BTC to the same recipient.
You have a misunderstanding of what replay attacks are. It has nothing to do with off-chain buying and selling of BTC or BTX on an exchange. It just means that, under certain conditions, a transaction involving pre-fork coins that is legitimately broadcast on one chain could be maliciously replayed on the other chain.
Because of this misunderstanding, the remainder of the points you are trying to make are invalid.
Its seems like the code needs to be rewritten to add more blocks after the last part of the 21 million coin have been mined. Im sure one of the endless hard forks will work it all out.
Please stop posting garbage. Under the current network rules in place there will already be more blocks generated even after the 21 million coins have been mine. The coinbase will be 0, but the fees would still be there.

I have not heard of any 401(k) fund than invests in Bitcoin yet. Also I don't think there is a suitable investment vehicle that is available for regular (non-accredited) investors to buy in their rollover IRAs. However, it is possible to set up a trust that would allow you to hold bitcoins in an IRA.

In a single case, I would say that you can find lost bitcoins. Some people even buy old wallets to solve the password to get the bitcoins that lie in this purse. But not every password can be brootforced and in a global sense, it will be too difficult to do.

You realize that it would be trivial for Bitcoin core to move to 8 MB (or some other larger blocksize) when the time is appropriate, don't you? If it looked like users might abandon 1MB blocks I'm sure it would not take long for core to decide to move to bigger blocks.
