The only responsible course of action for Merkel and EU is to heavily cut Greece's debt. Even if it wasn't for the fact that German and EU banks are partially responsible for the crisis with their irresponsible lending, it is as you said, Greece cannot pay. They can either continue their draconian austerity measures and repayment demands which will cause further destabilization and harm Greece's economy even more, or accept the very real fact that Greece simply cannot pay, cut their losses and move on.

The world economy is intertwined, the US economy is dependent on the world economy and vice versa. Naturally the world economy would suffer greatly if the US economy failed, but it would eventually recover and other economies would fill the vacuum.
ISIS bans execution videos because of image backlash?
Sounds like banning the execution part of the videos is to prevent eroding popular support. Cuz what would they be if they lost that?

ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has banned any more execution videos by the Islamic State, but the orders reportedly have created a division with the organization's ranks.
ARA News reported that, according to sources, al-Baghdadi was responding to the feelings of Muslims who regarded the videos as "disgusting and scary to children."

whats the point?.. they are still killing people
like removing the part that they are beheading people will change their image as non violent org.
They don't need to necessarily be regarded as a non violent organisation, they just need to be accepted in the region as the authority of the region. The point would be to keep the violence on a level that instills fear but is not barbaric enough to significantly lower public support and provoke rebellions.
And if they become accepted as the authority of the region, the rest of the world has little choice but to negotiate and enter diplomatic relations with them. Which is why measures should be taken now, before it's too late.
I don't think that this news is reliable. For long, the ISIS has used this type of gory and graphic videos to recruit psychopaths and mental patients from around the world. If they stop publishing these videos on their Twitter and YouTube accounts, then their recruitment drive will take a severe hit. And right now, they can't afford to do the same.
While they definitely do appeal to many of the mentioned people. One would be naive to think it is true for all, or even most of the people they recruit. Their propaganda has been quite sophisticated and they have shown to be appealing for many otherwise normal young citizens, often feeling like they are not a part of society because of segregation and discrimination. The thought of belonging to cause bigger than their own lives can have a very strong appeal to these people. Most of them will probably find that the reality of this cause is less glorious than they had thought, but often too late.
I don't see cpu mining being an optimal solution. The perfect crypto currency should be secure, instant and free to transfer along with decentralized transfers in my oppinion.
