It is no accident that the isle of man is doing this. It is the location of the largest poker site on the internet. Sold for $5 billion cash last year. The news story about the taxi driver and the pub owner are fluff. The real clearinghouse will be coincorner.  Look https://www.coincorner.com/About

maybe create or purchase a free nongambling game or application first
then add gambling as an option or
link to gambling site for free action
reduce the barriers to gambling

I think my Nitrogen is at 1 and my DirectBet at 5.

Please adjust ratings

Nitrogen = 3

pros
-improvements to book stability
-attempting to add live odds

cons
-rigged casino
-dead poker room
-customer service is shaky depending on who you deal with

DirectBet = 3

pros
-some live lines
-one of few books to offer live odds on some games
-good customer support most of the time

cons
-bad odds
-take down lines during games at will and keep them off for no reason
-take down lines when they have potential to lose
-many games are not offered
-odds change against you before bitcoin reaches them

nice evaluation. I agree with what you wrote but I don't understand your numbers

Followed the suggestions in this thread, contacted a dealer from localbitcoins and bought over one bitcoin with cash.  Everything went smoothly.

Re: What happens with Coin collectors and people into Numismatics?

It will be easier for collectors to make purchases over the internet anonymously. And many collectors appreciate being anonymous. Shops that sell anything but necessities will have a hard time competing in price and selection. Shops that adapt to selling over the internet and accept bitcoins will do better.

Just wanted to share that there is a useful alternative to escrow available now ...
 - http://BitRated.com

BitRated takes advantage of mutlisignature transactions such that buyer and seller will each have a key but also the individual from BitRated chosen for arbitration will receive a key as well.  Two of the three keys are needed to spend the funds from the transaction.

Even if you aren't needing this type of transaction, it is still a good idea to register on BitRated and to build connections there (e.g., vouch for those who you've traded with and ask others who trust you to vouch for you).   This could become a very useful tool for those doing face-to-face trading as well as online trading.
multi-signature transactions sound useful in some situations
