All over Craigslist people are panic selling their 1070 and 1080 it seems.

Some are even below what the retailers are selling them for.

Basically a 450 day ROI is scary for most.

First, dump their prices should shops due to coming soon dramatic surplus. Also it's a good time to sell your videocards right now because they are overpricing and not many people as i see understand what is going on, many still want to buy new equipment. Especially you bought this cards in the spring or fall 2017, 1.5 - 2 times chipper. If not - more tough decision.  Hold the ground may be - keep mining still itis profitable. But if ETH dropped another two times there will  be no buyers for equipment and mining becomes not profitable at all considering electricity costs.

But it's business, it's not fun money for nothing. If you in - you should took all risks.

For the 1080Ti at the current price, the ROI is 500 days after the electricity cost. So it is better to buy the coins directly.

Re: 1070 Ti benchmarked in Eth & Zec

Slightly disappointing unfortunately.  I think people should be sticking to the 1080ti for ETH and ZEC.  The 1070ti just isn't cutting it, apparently

The 1080ti is a BAD choice for ETH, but a decent one for ZEC.
WAY too expen$ive for the 35ish Mhash it can manage on ETH, when AMD RX 470/480/570/580 cards can pull more than DOUBLE the hash/$ at recent pricing.

1070ti is a GOOD ZEC card, in my testing of various cards it achieves THE highest efficiency (by a little) of any card in existance - though you can't build rigs as DENSE as you can with the 1080 ti.

I agree the 1080Ti is still the best for ZEC mining if you consider the total rig cost.

Its very simple to get rich here.
1- Split your budget to 10
2- Buy Bitcoin or any other valueable alt coin. with your 1/10 budget
3- If price falls buy again with same amount.
4- Repeat this until you fund all your money to crypto currencies.
5- Wait around 1-3 years and boom you are rich

I think it is quite difficult to select the 10 best coins.

Re: TeamViewer - Anyone with recent issues?

i believe your computer has an issue, its called windows 10

besides that i have not experienced any problems with teamviewer and my windows machines

Agreed, there's no reason to use 10 for mining.

Also, for mining rigs with no valuable data on them it's much better to have a static system which doesn't keep changing in the background, meaning auto updates and scheduled tasks being completely disabled. No surprises that way. A lot of long term stability issues are coming from windows always doing stuff in the background. Eliminate that and you get more stability.

Also, if you don't intend to connect to teamviewer outside of your local network, it's advised to set it that it only accepts local connections. You can also disable autoupdating so your teamviewer isn't going online at all. No surprises and no risks that way.

Otherwise, auto updating is of course recommended.

That is right. I only use Windows 8.1. It is very stable.

he isn't someone that fud around after shorting, is he?
that's the thing about trying to be a smart ass when they can't handle when to short and when to buy. I'm not that good at it wither but i'm buying whenever the price goes down.

For the bitcoin, it is better not to short.

Re: which currency is good as bitcoin??

As good in what way do you mean?

So far in my limited understanding of all this crypto business it would seem

code - open source so i guess any coin can clone but can all devs manipulate and fix as well as the core btc devs? (not sure)
developers - of course top tier but I think their choices are limited more so that some other alts without hardfork
security of network - cost to successful attack very expensive so I guess this gives it a lot of value
adoption - huge in comparison to all others so again gives huge advantage ..breeds trust there so the attracts most new fiat incoming and it stays there.

I think if another currency can knock it from number 1 spot in terms of volume, MC and tech inovation but it will need to be something rather special or just something just as good that is adopted by a huge company. Why they would not just adopt BTC is a question. The only answer could be that BTC's core code is unable to provide what is needed without hardforking which perhaps the devs could not push through or not get agreement on with mining pools.

No currency rivals BTC yet in the most important areas of adoption and perhaps security (not sure there could be wrong)  and surely trust so for now btc staying on top in terms of MC and volume for now.

No currency rivals BTC at the moment. But the Bitcoin development is controlled by BS. It might kill the bitcoin.

In the last few days, the coin is almost as good as bitcoin just appeared. It is the ZCash, it is more expensive.

The problems with other coins\projects that people just hype only bitcoin , many good project with advance technologies than bitcoin but people only trust bitcoin as the mother of all project which is not going to die .

I also heard that some people or the community are hyping some of the altcoin such as Ethereum or Monero.
