Hello everyone,
I am a lady who has decided to channel my inner passion into upgrading my self by learning cryptocurrency. Honestly, I’m still a complete beginner, but I strongly agree that growth starts a willingness to learn.

This journey has not really been easy for me so far, one of the biggest obstacles I face is hearing people constantly describe crypto as a Ponzi scheme or scam. At times it can be discouraging I won’t lie but I have chosen to focus on the positive part by researching, learning and gaining knowledge step by step.

Despite the work demanding a lot from me, I’m still determined to pull through and remain committed to this learning journey. I’ve also started sharing my learning with close friends even though my brain is still basic.

I know I have a long way to go, but I’m excited about this process and would really appreciate any support, guidance, beginner- friendly tips you all can share. Let’s all grow together.

I just finished a lesson on coursera that I think could benefit some beginners here. One of the key point was that before deciding to invest on cryptocurrency, it’s important to seek professional investment advice and take time to understand how the market works for the fact that crypto is volatile and considering the fact that cryptocurrency can be confusing from the early time.

Good one Buddy. It's also good that you've identified Coursera as one of your foundational learning platforms. What I can tell you is that in Coursera you are going to learn more about the fundamentals and the technical terms and understanding some basic setups when it comes to investments or trading of bitcoin but most of the information you will be filled with by Coursera, consider them as your first learning rope but don't get excited yet because just learning from Coursera alone doesn't make you a trader nor investor, it only gives you the fundamental knowledge guide on the basics. Now if you are ready to learn how to invest trade or grow your portfolio, you will need to go into the practical aspect of it and thank God you're here now. You can learn from the powerful discussions led here and ask questions to get hands-on responses like you will do if you're a programmer with stackoverflow.

For me, the most valuable have come from actually interacting with the ecosystem ( I mean getting involved in different parts of crypto beyond just studying theory) . Setting up non- custodial wallets, experimenting with testnest or even studying how blockchain projects solves real problems.

Like you said, this forum is one of the best places to gain that hands-on exposure. The discussion here give the real life world perspective that courses can’t really cover. Sometimes I take my time to read threads, incredibly and articulated threads is all I see.

So this is all you've got as a result of your learning from the source stated, I don't know maybe it's you that have to go and relearn on what is necessary and more important than just this you have said, because I can sense that you also needed to learn more than trying to advise others.

crypto is volatile and considering the fact that cryptocurrency can be confusing from the early time.

Cryptocurrency is broad and not confusing, what is not properly planned or functioning is what we can say to be confusing and this does not applies to cryptocurrency.

You know when I talked about some high ranked members trying to shut new members up, this is what I meant. I’m just sharing some challenges I encountered so that new members don’t feel confused when they face the same. Trading is confusing if you don’t get to know the basis. You were once a beginner, your response is uncalled for.

Thank everyone for their contributions. I think I should hold on with trading for now and focus more on the strategic aspects of crypto to easily navigate as a beginner . Either Binance or Coinbase would be considered when ever I’m ready to start trading since they seems to be more beginner- friendly.

This is really thoughtful though, thanks. Let me go and update my browser now.

One question though, would using a dedicated wallet app ( like trust wallet or hardware wallet) keep us safe even if the browser has such vulnerabilities or would browsing exchanges still put us at risk?

I feel like the beginners has a lot to learn when it comes to security . But then again I ask, apart from using a trusted wallet or app, what are some of the beginners-friendly tips to keep my coin safe?

Also how am I to identify scammers cus if we are able to figure them out, we should be able to trade safely.

I am a beginners trying to navigate and so far and most of the post and response I’ve been seeing have been beneficial to me.

As a beginner who is trying to navigate my way through cryptocurrency, I’d like to ask some advice.

Considering the fact that scammers are everywhere, which app (exchange or trading platform) is the most secure to use for trading? Also, which security measure would you recommend to protect my coin once I start trading?

I believe this will not only help me, but also other beginners who might have the same concern.

Went through some post post here and had to also add this, I understand that higher- ranked members might already know this I just posted but not every member does. Remember every expect was once a beginner, and so sometimes the most basic advice can save someone from a costly mistake. Let’s allow new members the space to learn and settle in.
