Let's just say I have a lot of horses, I need to communicate to them secretly. We're having a meeting tonight by the watering hole. Can dark clams help my situation?

Neigh me back ASAP.
You could pay the ride with darkclam anonymously.

Do you like hay? We have stables full of it. We are open to neighotiating.
Lol we would be pioneering the hay market on cryptos.

I suggest a name such as HayRoad 2 for all this horsing around. Hay should be a primary currency with the ability to exchange to Carrots as another form of fiat.

Giddy up.

Btw, good luck getting the site back up.

Thanks.

I put up a temporary placeholder site here: https://just-dice.com/ and that's where I'll post updates.
I miss JD Sad

Don't worry, we are not gone, we're just temporarily unavailable until dooglus completes the new server and OS installs, updates, etc.. As Arnold once said "I'll be back"

The site is down after suffering a hardware failure.

The coins in the wallets are safe.

I don't know right now how long it will take to get it back up. I'll post more when I have more information.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the heads up dooglus! Does this mean I have to do other things than be a chat degen? I will survive this cold turkey moment...

It's been needed for some time doog and even as an investor I welcome the change. The risks of 100x were too high and could bring about huge losses if max profit was ever won, which was a tall order anyway given the odds of winning that insane amount. Not only is clam more protected now, perhaps people will choose to do more with their clam now rather than letting it sit with a high offsite on JD.

People may be hurt by this change but it is a needed one, for clam and for everyone who gambles and invests at JD.

Can't believe someone is actually trying to call someone who ran one of the most profitable bitcoin/alt coin gambling websites a troll. Someone who is not willing to listen to bug reports or lie in the face of evidence that disproves provable fairness should be avoided at all costs. Who knows what the site owner is doing to 'game' the system.

Cross-posted over in the mining sub-forum.

If anyone has personal experience with staking CLAM and how it is similar to Proof-Of-Work (compared to other Proof-Of-Stake alternatives), your opinions and experiences would likely be helpful:

Hi, solo staker here. [...]

If you need anymore info, let me know.

I was wondering if you knew anything about this deposit to Just-Dice, Mr. Solo Staker. Wink

Which makes me wonder... what happens if people put illegal or copyrighted text into the blockchain's CLAMspeech? It's not like anyone can take it down to comply with a cease and desist order. I remember a few years ago someone put a bunch of links to very dubious sites in the Bitcoin blockchain, but I've not heard anything about that since. Here's an article, with a pretty inaccurate headline: "If you own Bitcoin, you also own links to child porn". (Inaccurate since you can own Bitcoin simply by holding a private key on a piece of paper. You don't need a copy of the blockchain to own Bitcoin).

I'd figured i'd give JD a month trial with the leverage, see how it stacks up. If in the end it makes more than solo staking then i will keep my coins in JD. It was a good experiment for a month though. As for copyrighted text, i doubt many people from Hasbro will care all that much but i've been wrong before. Given the level of copyrighted films, music etc i would imagine that would be a copyrighter's first priority over anything else.

Hi, solo staker here. Used to keep my coins on Just-Dice but once the leverage system came into effect i moved most into my local wallet. I've got 519 coins staking across 85 addresses in the wallet (pre splitsize/combinesize) and is setup in 5 clam chunks. I've got splitsize and combinesize setup for 2 clam output chunks at the moment. Experience is sporadic at best. I've had 4 clam stakes in 24 hours and then gone to the other extreme of having 3-4 days with 0 stakes at all. This month i've staked 32 coins (3/3/15-27/3/15)

As JD's staking weight grows i've noticed an uptrend of drier days but since their is no growing staking weight then it just ends up a huge game of luck. Also on the subject of orphaned stakes, i'm getting maybe 1 every 1-2 weeks.

If you need anymore info, let me know.

Re: Does martingale really works?
by
Evil-Dragon
on 09/03/2015, 22:42:26 UTC
Something's wrong. House can't win almost 2/3 of the time if it has 0% edge. It would mean that it is possible for the house to lose 2/3 time with 0% player edge. Something like that would be exploited by now.

You're correct, something's wrong. But what is it?

Something in the code. I'm reviewing it right now, gut feeling is something like the way those variables are incremented inside those while loops. If the code is OK (which I doubt), then we stumbled onto something very interesting.

No, it's not the code. The code is right, in that it does what I intended it to do:

It starts with a balance of 15, and martingales from 1 unit, doubling on loss, resetting on win, and stopping either when the bankroll has doubled, or when it can not afford to make the next bet.

There's a prize of 15 CLAM tipped to your Just-Dice account for the first person to post a correct explanation of how it is possible that your chance of doubling up using that strategy can be less than 50%, and for the casino's expectation to still be zero...

The answer is the site is rigged.

I don't get it. So if you had bitcoins on that particular date you will own clams?

As long as the address had funds on the 12th May 2014 then you have clams. Also Dogecoin and Litecoin addresses are included.

Mac fag checking in.  Running 1.4.10 and smooth sailing so far.  Staking and all.
Curious behaviour as the staking icon goes red more than I've ever seen but I can't
see a problem.

Does it go red for long periods at a time? Long enough that you can hover the mouse over it and tell me what pops up when it's red?

If you put:
debug=stake
in the clam.conf file in the same folder as your wallet.dat and restart, it will write stake-related stuff to debug.log in the same folder as it stakes.

You could "tail -f debug.log" in that folder and see whether anything looks different when it's red. Staking basically consists of hashing each of your staking outputs every 16 seconds and comparing the result with a target based on the network difficulty. If the output hashes lower than the target, you get to stake a block. "debug=stake" will cause these hashes that are being compared to be logged.

I couldn't find an existing one, so I created a clam.conf and added debug=stake.  I'm hoping I did it correctly.  I added a screengrab of data flow. http://imgur.com/Gmcfbf8 When I hover the cursor over the red icon, it sometimes says 0 weight.  And then other times it says not staking because I don't have mature coins.  But then I stake at least once a day.

Hope this helps.  Thanks for everything!

/s/

Same thing was happening to me on a previous version (1.4.7 i think)  and the 0 weight was also showing.
I haven't seen it happen to me again yet on this latest version.. but I'll watch for it.

It can stay red for up to one minute, i've seen it myself. When you hover over it says 'Not staking because you don't have mature coins'

It doesn't appear to affect staking in the long run, i always just put it down to new blocks being generated and that it was a normal thing.

I have the debug switch on at the moment so i'll try and upload the debug.log next time i see it happen.
