how do you mine LOKI on the randomX algo? Where to download the software? and is there a tutorial on how to mine with just CPU?

The latest xmrig release supports it https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/releases

The switch to rx/loki algo happens sometime tomorrow.

Yeah, browser is for general usage and Proof of Stake mining. Not for Proof of Work anymore.

I may not be an expert but my understanding of how crypto works is fine. What you mistake for an ignorant statement was actually a personal observation, clearly explained in the previous sentence.

My observation was that : After the fork, I noticed a sharp decline in my daily earnings. I speculated that this was probably due to the difficulty being disproportionate to the short time after the fork and the hashrate being produce on the hardware mining on the new algo.

After most forks the difficulty should be very low and increase slowly over time as more and more hash hits the new algo.

So before you start insulting my intelligence perhaps you should read more carefully and understand what the person is saying no?

I understood you correctly. I gave a basic explanation of how difficulty adjustment works. I'm not insulting you lol

I think the current difficulty has hit profitability hard since the fork, My earning has dropped severely.
I could be mistaken but i speculate that the high difficulty could work against the miners.

Difficulty of the math problem adjusts so the solutions are found every 2 minutes on average. That's how PoW crypto works. More miners, higher difficulty. Its miners against other miners.

I'm not sure why you feel he needs a basic reminder of how crypto works. He's saying that his profits are down, and he suspects its because of the difficulty. There's nothing incorrect about his statement. I've made the same observation many times.

My question remains, with rising difficulty and more GPU miners, how will UPX equalize hash rates for android and IoT devices? I know android is much faster now. So is GPU reportedly. What exactly are we gaining here?

Quote: "I could be mistaken but i speculate that the high difficulty could work against the miners."

That sentence is not what someone who knows how crypto works would say. More miners coming in, increases the difficulty. That's how PoW works. Its miners going against other miners. It's a feature of the system. If more miners come in, hashrate and thus the difficulty will increase and you will earn less coins than before, unless you add additional hardware.

Now, how much this algo has equalized GPUs and Phones/IoT, you'd have to compare the hashrates of before and after and see what kind of increase each device got and work out the difference.

On a GPU i got an 8x increase for example. If you got more than that on your Phone, then there you go, you're more competitive than before.

how many coins do I need for a MN?

As far as i know, more detailed information about MNs should come after the Proof of Work algo update. The PoW algo update should be near the end of this month.

https://webdollar.io just does not work.

Been trying for 4 days, 2 computers, many browsers (firefox, palemoon, chrome, brave, opera, edge)

even if it EVENTUALLY starts "mining" the site will randomly reload, you will loose every single token and will start all over again.
(as mentioned above even when it does start it is bound to fail afterwards)

Constant networking errors, constant reloads, no matter the pool it just refuses to work and of course you will loose all your "mined" tokens time and time again.

It feels way more like a scam that uses your CPU for now.

Most of the time its doing the "staking" rounds. So, if you don't have enough coins for staking, you will be missing those rounds. Which is why you only sometimes see it "mining".

If you had enough coins for "staking", it would always be either "mining" or "staking". Also, try not to jump pools constantly. Choose a pool and stick with it.

The page reloading is definitely annoying. But as far as i remember, they've added it so your connections auto refresh in case you lose connectivity and are not aware of it to refresh yourself. I do hope they improve that entire system, so there's no more refreshing.

Also, for pure mining, right now, the hashrate is pretty high.. so you would have to run the node/miner thing, which is a lot of faster and does not use the browser. Tho a bit more complicated to set up.

Also you can drop your address here, someone might send you some coins, so you can do both mining and staking rounds. But then definitely stick to one pool and just let the browser do its thing. Staking in multiple pools with the same wallet is not allowed.

I'm sorry for the noob question but how much is the total supply for LOKI? I cant seem to find it.

You can find the total supply at any given moment on CoinMarketCap - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/loki/
The maximum supply however is infinite. Tho the inflation rate becomes negligible after a while.

by

I'm sure the dev can expand on this, but this is what i personally gathered by chatting in discord:

Developers will work on creating Zettelkasten - Decentralized Knowledge Management System.

Zettel, the coin itself, besides its use in Zettelkasten, can be used as a fast decentralized peer to peer cash.

The ever evolving mining algo ( about every 10 weeks ) will keep the coin CPU only mineable, which allows for true decentralization, where every person can run a node and mine with their CPU, which was the original idea behind Bitcoin. And this is the only coin I've seen actually actively doing something like this. While also having No permine or ico or any other type of scammy nonsense.

"Burger" is a test net currency. So if you want to support the test net, you get "Burgers" instead of Zettels.

"BurgerHash" is Zettel's mining algorithm. Like SHA256 is Bitcoin's mining algo, for example.

Just watched that Q&A video ( and I've been following the project for a while ). Really good stuff. A solid dev team and some great use cases for Loki / SNApps.
Keep up the great work!
