What are peoples thoughts on the platform this business should be built on? I was drawn to Ethereum just given its ability to create smart contracts. However, I'm open to other ideas if a better solution exists.

Ultimately the platform chosen will be used for fundraising and returns on investment. It could be built on Bitcoin and be as simple as a Bitcoin address. I liked the idea of two party security however.

That's a good question! I was trying to figure out potential solutions to help people who fall delinquent in their payments. Tenant turnover hurts both parties. However, this would be less of an issue if there was a way to lower costs of ownership, which sustainability would help to do. At the very least it would be worth while to look into solar. What ideas do you have?

That is exactly one major concern I have. Ethereum will at least have to be used for the IPO. My initial thoughts include using it for capital control. For example a contract controlled by a committee which can release funds to a single account. However, other safeguards could be used, but the balance is of the uttermost importance. Not just for investor trust, but security within the organization. At first glance this project appears to be very much like theDAO and they are similar. However, where theDAO is a full fledged autonomous corporation/venture fund. I intend this to be more of a hybrid company . I imagine a company driven by people, held accountable by Ethereum.

More of an IPO secured using Ethereum, and using Ethereum as the business network.
In a very rough nutsell.. IPO --> Business raises capital --> (successful?) Business launches -->  Business grows --> investments grow / dividends

Just a small update.. I've been working on running Monte Carlo simulations to generate some expected earnings in order to fully formalize a business plan proposal for release.
Things are looking good number wise in really adverse conditions. However, It's more difficult to get approximations of actual conditions. It still can be done!

Concept overview:

ExciteEth is a project with a mission to bring value to the Ethereum marketplace as a blockchain business invested in tangible assets. Presently our profit model consists primarily of residual revenue through property ownership with a long term plan of diversifying our revenue streams. Properties we have been targeting are primarily residential, single, or multifamily homes given the continued expected rise of rental demand. These investments will provide a steady source of revenue to grow ExciteEth from which ultimately will enable us to diversify our operations into other areas!

Overview (brief) of Business Structure:

Daily operations will be conducted by a Management team lead by the CEO.
A board of directors will be formed and will handle the release of debt-raised finances.
Members will vote on the board of directors.


Ethereum's role:

Ethereum provides the essential framework from which all of this will be built on! Ethereum will be used to develop a transparent debt financing model, which when successful will transform into a revenue sharing platform. Additionally, it will be used to manage debt-raised finances in a secure manner. Finally, Ethereum will empower members to interact with the company.
